Nor does it support triggers, or strict column data types. For more information can I suggest you check the documentation which is provided with the source. Python 2.2 and Zope 2.6.0

I downloaded Zope 2.6.0 and in the readme (if I recall) it says "DO NOT USE Python 2.2" Use Python 1.5. Some further research seems to indicate a problem with zope 2.6.0 and Python 2.2 on Solaris. So I installed Python 1.5, and now I have problems with one of the products which is requiring features in Python 2.2. Question..... Does Zope 2.6.0 require Python 1.5 on a Linux Box? Or does Python 2.2 work OK? Thanks for the reply.. I am gleefully impressed with the rapid and accurate replies to the many quieries I see on this list. Including mine. Despite my inaccuracies, my questions were answered professionally, and by more than one person. Thank You. Very Sincerely! My INTRODUCTION I have alot of years in application development and systems development. About 20 years. Mostly in UNIX. I have been using PHP for a couple of years, and have been looking for the right CMS to adopt. I guess my desire to see it done in PHP kept me from seeing Zope. But because the XML support in PHP is weak, and very well developed in Zope, I decided to give Zope a try. I am new to Python, and also pretty new to OOP. So my questions will be pretty stupid in the beginning. I will try to be more careful going forward. For now, I can bring my knowledge of UNIX systems and general programming to contribute. Eventually, I hope to be one of the fine contributors I see on this list today. Perhaps even a product developer some day. What I have seen in Zope, thus far, is fantastic. I think I would like to hang around for a long time to come. So please bear with me as I ask stupid questions for the next few weeks. And thank you again for the prompt answers to the many questions this list handles. New Install

I have installed the latest version (2.6.0) on a Linux Red Hat 8.0 system. This is a new install, not an upgrade. I cannot get to it via a browser. Any suggestions of where to go from here since I see no error messages or obvious problems? I am trying to get the Prototype in the Zope Book working and run into the following problem when typing in the index_html file (Listing 4.1). python call escaping HTML

hello, I'm shure it's a often asked question ... sorry ;o{ How to get python returned string to be not html escaped, just a raw string ? I call a product instance like this : <span tal:replace="python: here.meteo" /> the return value is a html string, and Zope is escaping it like character '<' is rewritting as '<' is there a tal syntax that I can use to tell Zope to not escape python output ??? thanks, Cyrille
