bad zope crash and won't restart

I was trying to edit properties of a zclass from a python script with something like: proc=getattr(resFolder.Procedures, id) print proc.propertysheets.propertyIds() and I had a sudden freeze in my system which now won't restart. When I try it hangs (if I run the init.d script and here is the scary message I get when I >./start [root@imfpr Zope]# /usr/local/Zope/lib/python/ts_regex.py:15: DeprecationWarning: the regex module is deprecated; please use the re module import regex, regsub #, Sync /usr/local/Zope/lib/python2.1/regsub.py:15: DeprecationWarning: the regsub module is deprecated; please use re.sub() DeprecationWarning) and then it looks like there's a process running but no pages serve up. Basic object access question

Howdy, I'm sure this is explained any number of places, but I haven't found it. Given this layout, with Project and ImageFolder in my installation root; Project sub sub2 ImageFolder sub sub2 - Image a DTML Document in Project/sub/sub2 contains; <dtml-var /ImageFolder/sub/sub2/Image> I get a KeyError What am I missing here, where is the explanation? Book question: Zope Bible ??

Serious problem: ConflictError

Hi, As some of you might have seen I have had severe problems with my Data.fs today. Manged to resolve the problems by using the fsrecover.py. All the sties are up and running, but I cannot add any data. I get the following traceback trying to add a regular Folder at the root level. Is there a way to solve this problem ? This is a serious problem for me! I have tried a new recover but no errors are found and no bytes are removed during recovery. URGENT : site inaccessible when traffic is high

Hi, I have 2 nested loops, where the outer one iterated over folders and the inner one iterated over the dtml documents in each folder. On DTML vs TAL perhaps like Chris I stick with DTML only since I learned it first, but I have other reasons: - TAL alone (without any DTML) doesn't give me the power and flexibility of DTML. - I also find TAL more cryptic than DTML, at least in some cases and particularly when I don't want to use a WSYIWYG editor. This obviously depends on what you know in advance. In short, I also prefer DTML.

I just read "Unit testing" chapter of the excellent "Dive into Python" book. I know that Zope 3 development extensively use unit testing development. I wonder if anynone use unit testing for Zope 2.* product development? Any insights or advices?

Interesting namespace observation

I have a method in the root of my application called "getProxies" that queries a catalog for a given metatype. I have a folder in the root called "Platforms" with a method called "selectInstance" that renders a series of checkbox tags. I call "selectInstance" method from an adjacent folder with <dtml-with Platforms> <dtml-var selectInstance> </dtml-with> This is how this method look at first: <dtml-let control_set="setControl(_, 'PlatformID')" control_name="control_set[0]" control_value="control_set[1]" control_type="'checkbox'" num_columns="3"> <dtml-in getProxies('Platform') sort="Name" prefix="platform"> <dtml-let item="platform_item.id" display_item="platform_item.Name"> <dtml-var inputTag> </dtml-let> </dtml-in> </dtml-let> Doing the above gives a key error for "getProxies", however if I move "getProxies" into the let tag it does _not_: <dtml-let control_set="setControl(_, 'PlatformID')" control_name="control_set[0]" control_value="control_set[1]" control_type="'checkbox'" num_columns="3" proxies="getProxies('Platform')"> <dtml-in proxies sort="Name"> <dtml-let item="id" display_item="Name"> <dtml-var inputTag> </dtml-let> </dtml-in> </dtml-let> It seems like <dtml-let> is doing something with the namespace that makes it impossible for the subsequent <dtml-in> tag to find the "getProxies" method in the root. ZCatalog of Folder vs dtml method or ZPT

I am experiencing this problem with my ZCatalog... The website is made up of folders, dtml methods, and page templates, using a standard_html_header and standard_html_footer and index_html document. In a ZSearch Interfaced report: Link to a ZCatalogged folder-- the page and inhereted content is returned (like the standard_html_header and standard_html_footer). This is desirable behaviour. Link to a ZCatalogged dtml method or page template-- the page only is returned with no inherited content (i.e. no standard_html_header and standard_html_footer). This is not desirable behaviour. How can I have both-- the page, and the inherited header and footer content appear when the link is clicked in the ZSearch Interface report?
