CompilerError when importing into 2.5
by marc lindahl 26 Mar '02

I'm trying to import a big object (a CMF site) from a 2.3.3 zope to a 2.5.0 zope, and I'm getting this CompilerError - anyone have a clue how to fix this? Or maybe, a better way to move a (sub)site to a newer zope? Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. dtml-in with skip_unauthorized and sequence-end
by Jens Wolk 26 Mar '02

26 Mar '02

Hi everybody, in a folder I have two other folders with the titles "foo" and "bar". The security settings for the "foo" folder define, that the Anonymous role doesn't have the "Access contents information". Now, a user with the role Anonymous calls a dtml method with the following code snippet (Zope 2.5): <dtml-in expr="objectValues( [ 'Folder', ] )" skip_unauthorized sort="Title"> <dtml-if sequence-start> <ul> </dtml-if> <li> ... </li> <dtml-if sequence-end> </ul> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> That way, the <dtml-if sequence-end> block seems never to get executed. The reason probably is that "foo" is the last item and therefore the whole dtml-in is skipped. How can I correct this? What I need is a way to list all folders except those which the user hasn't access to. Yours. Jens

How can I count the number of comments?
by Greg Clough 26 Mar '02

26 Mar '02

Hi, I'm trying trying to loop over a group of news folders a,b,c and output a count of the number of dtml documents (comments) in each. I've got this far (where ListComments is a dtml method that lists the comments): <dtml-in expr="News.objectValues()"> <dtml-var sequence-item> <A HREF="Comments/&dtml-id;/ListComments"> <dtml-var expr="_.len(Comments.*****.objectValues())"> Comments </A> </dtml-in> but I need to be able to replace the ***** with the current sequence-id (i.e. a, b, or c) and I can't get it to work. Can anyone help? Greg _________________________________________________________________ Join the worlds largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. http://www.hotmail.com

how to import .zexp containing obsolete products???
by Gilles 26 Mar '02

26 Mar '02

Hello I would like to import very old exported zope file (.bbe or .zexp). ( Note: I know how to convert the zodb2 to zodb3...) Unfortunately theses file contains products which are not installed anymore now: old db adaptor,confera... and the import failed. This is not really nice. Is there a way to do the import anyway? not importing the unknown or broken objects?? Or to 'clean' the old .bbe/.zexp from thoses objects? Thanks Gilles

Zope/Python Integration with Cold Fusion?
by Chris Abraham 26 Mar '02

26 Mar '02

Zopesters: I have a 2:00 meeting on Cold Fusion integration with Zope/Python. (This is not a time-sensitive email -- but the meeting is making me think hard since this is a problem I will have to solve again and again) I think they have some some Cold Fusion/DB-backed sites and so forth (not ours) that they would like to synch/syndicate/and represent. Are there proprietary RSS/RDF/SOAP/XML/B2B/Service/Buzzword strategies that Allaire/Macromedia/CF push? Are there Python Package/Module/Method which can/could/would address these kinds of interoperability questions? Since the Foundation/.ORG world has embraced CF (as have many worlds -- silly gits!), we will see this again and again -- and I would like your help in maybe showing me the solutions that I have not considered. I would really appreciate someone's help when you have a chance -- the meeting is not a deadline, only an impetus. Also, I am working on finding a place in the area for the next ZPug meeting -- but I have my hands full. I will keep on looking, but if you have any ideas for places, please post them to the list and we can brainstorm together. Users from a database
by Richard Wesley 26 Mar '02

26 Mar '02

We are building a web site that will allow customers to log in and view their account data. Users (along with everything else) are kept in a RDBMS. Are there any (relatively simple) examples out there of ways to implement users or user folders? ZDebug-0.3 doesn't work under Zope 2.5.0z
by Сергей Бадамшин 26 Mar '02

Subj? Or there's my fault somewhere? I just unpack ZDebug to Products catalog as usual, restart Zope... After that I'm unable to get the manage screen - ZDebug falls into recursion and fails. ---------------- File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_String.py, line 473, in __call__ (Object: dtmlexc) File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/Products/ZDebug/DTMLDebug.py, line 287, in debug_render_blocks File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/Products/ZDebug/DTMLDebug.py, line 237, in debugException File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/Products/ZDebug/DTMLDebug.py, line 182, in debugWithNamespace File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/App/special_dtml.py, line 61, in __call__ (Object: dtmlexc) File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_String.py, line 473, in __call__ (Object: dtmlexc) File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/Products/ZDebug/DTMLDebug.py, line 287, in debug_render_blocks File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/Products/ZDebug/DTMLDebug.py, line 237, in debugException File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/Products/ZDebug/DTMLDebug.py, line 182, in debugWithNamespace File /home/Zope-2.5.0/lib/python/App/special_dtml.py, line 61, in __call__ (Object: dtmlexc) RuntimeError: maximum recursion depth exceeded ----------------

ZClass in Mounted Storage breaks on 2.5.0 upgrade
by Brad Clements 26 Mar '02

26 Mar '02

Just my luck. Upgrading from Zope 2.4.1 to 2.5.0 on Linux. I'm using instances. After switching over PYTHONHOME to the 2.5 version of Zope, ZClass instances contained in MountedStorage folders are broken. However if I copy and Paste them into the main ZODB they come back to life. Is this a known issue?
