Migrate ZClass and ZCatalogue based product to CVS
by Per Hörnfeldt 20 Mar '02

20 Mar '02

Hi, we have written an application using ZClasses with propertysheets and ZCatalogues. We now want to migrate the code from Zope internal objects stored in ZODB to a version control system (more precisely CVS). Does anyone have a roadmap for such a migration or tips on any tool that could help us in the migration process? Hello, I want to redirect to another document with certain parameters. the following works: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('teller', 7)"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('toon2?datum=1796/03/22&teller=<dtml-var teller>')"> so the <dtml-var teller> is read. but when I try: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('datum','1796/03/22')"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('teller', 7)"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('toon2?datum=<dtml-var datum>&teller=<dtml-var teller>')"> I get NameErrors or Invalid Date-Time String warnings. Things like "_.DateTime(datum)" or (_.str(datum)) don't work either. Anybody any suggestions? Cheers, Dirk

Re: [Zope] [HELP] How can i limit the size of Upload ?
by Dmitry Litovchenko 20 Mar '02

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: MD5 Hi, Experimental RFC 1867 "Form-based File Upload in HTML", from November 1995, says that: If the INPUT tag includes the attribute MAXLENGTH, the user agent should consider its value to represent the maximum Content-Length (in bytes) which the server will accept for transferred files. In this way, servers can hint to the client how much space they have available for a file upload, before that upload takes place. It is important to note, however, that this is only a hint, and the actual requirements of the server may change between form creation and file submission. As other experts stated, there is no OTHER way to limit its size. > Hello, > I would like to know how can i limit the upload size of certains files in > Zope. > In fact, my Zope crashes when i upload .HQX files larger than 80 Mo : so i > 'd like to limit the upload of these files (from HTTP and FTP) to > something like 79 Mo. > But only these type of files, not the others. > Can someone help me ? > Thanks in advance. > Fred. -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.6 iQDVAwUAPJhIh/JfaWAEJLRDAQEn6gX/RXUtWuz4opsngDGEFIBWM8csWgwvOpW+ PqJ0J6J+sYAYe61GSMcEaCXYCf4bPlc5Drbw78D3ygsnnV+6xHNvqUsCH0yqtY9O iKW/R4ixnHjkinZYP+4VXG5a9pZBQ48qVq+QxqFm5aXa+gHIuqz0NtHzE9pGSYfL S3tnL8acQC9So3JgzjZWuQj1TW225LT7E4AXGwIU808uHr0EfQwsKBw+tUaIXxw7 IUhLdspZLUn1JEkyMPp3Wphbzk65UZlf =MdX+ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

ZCatalog and SiteRoot, best solution
by Petter Enholm 20 Mar '02

20 Mar '02

Hi, I have several sites running with SiteRoot and of course ZCatalog. When indexing the ZCatalog for the first time I get paths that resolve to the top level of the siste. New entires added will only get paths starting from the current SiteRoot. On servers running version 2.2.4 of Zope I patched the ZCatalog class according to a HOW-TO on Zope. org, which fixed this problem. I am now interested in finding a more permanent solution than patching source files not in my project. I have seen that there is a method in ZCatalog for normalizing the paths in ZCatalog. But this will only fix the paths for the objects in the Catalog when it is being run, not for new objects - or am I completely mistaken here? Other suggest patching ZCatalog entry in manage_afterAdd. What is the best practice for handling updates, new objects etc. Best regards Petter Enholm
