by Dhanu 08 Mar '02

Hi , I have my zope site running on the net. I have small problem. When iam accessing the site from inside the proxy server, old pages or cached pages are coming. I want to set a header in such a way nothing is cached in my proxy server. I had entered the following line in standard_html_header,but still sometimes pages come from cache. <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('Cache-Control','private,proxy-revalidate,no-cache,no-store')"> Does any one has the solution?Your response is of very value to me and very much appreciated. Thank you for your valuable time, regards, Dhanunjaya

Re: [Zope] Zope user limit?
by mick polo 07 Mar '02

Umm How do I do that? do I just install MySql - run it and then pick from a drop down selection in Zope as a ZSQL connection? sorry to sound stupid. can you lead me through it? Hi Mick, You do not need mailing list assistance with that. MySQL installation for Zope is very well documented. Please read Zope Book, available from http://www.zope.org free of charge: download the HTML tar.gz file, unpack using WinZip, and read the chapter Relational Database Connectivity. -- Milos Prudek Hi.. OHHH sorry I didn't make myself clear - I am working on Win 98, there is only one docco on installing Mysql with Zope on Win98, on zope.org and that didn't work because the vital files from there are missing... I'm moving to re-write this thing in PHP-Mysql-Apache Pity - ZOPE rock(ed) - I'll come back in a year or two to see if the Gadfly has improved (become fully threaded) - Thanx -I learned a lot with Zope - BUT IT's NOT QUITE THERE YET!! 'System resources exceeded' error with ZODBCDA and Access
by Igor Leturia 07 Mar '02

07 Mar '02

Hi all! I have Zope 2.3.2 installed on a Windows 2000 Server. I have an Access databases and I make queries on it using ZODBCDA. It works fine, but after some time running it gives an error which in English would be (more or less) 'Microsoft ODBC Error. System resources exceeded'. The only way to get it running again is restarting Zope? The database is not very big (about 8000 records). Is it a problem of ZODBCDA, or is it Microsoft's Access ODBC driver's? Do I have to change some parameter (cache, etc.) in any of them? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Igor Leturia

ZPT: how to access property sheet of custom ZClass
by David Hart 07 Mar '02

07 Mar '02

Hi! I'm implementing a simple db, using the same methods in the JobBoard example. I looked at Kube, but I'd like something a bit more generic. I'm trying to make add/edit forms and display pages as simple as possible. Rather than have custom versions of all of these, each with copies of the same property names, I'd like to pull the property/attribute names from the property sheet of the ZClass in the Product I added. Something like: <span tal:repeat="props python:root.Control_Panel.Products.CEdb.cedb_record.propertysheets.common.record_default_properties.attrs()"> <p tal:content="props"></p> </span> The above example is probably very wrong for many reasons-- it shows my lack of experience with TAL, python and Zope innards in general -- but I think it conveys what I'm trying to do. I'm not sure if I can use "python:object.attrs()", or even if the objects under Control Panel are accessible to ZPT as the above example produces a guarded_getattr error. Also, is there a more generic or elegant way to refer to the record_default_properties object? Any help would be much appreciated! Regards, Dave

Don't post in HTML > I am doing a project in Zope and I need to place a delay in one of my python scripts in ZOPE > without using the python module "time.sleep" is there a nother way to do this??? Why can't you use time.sleep? cheers, Chris

iterate over ZSQL method and make hidden form values...?
by Erik Myllymaki 07 Mar '02

07 Mar '02

I have a form that collects about 15 values, and a ZSQL method that collects about 15 values on the same page. I want to amalgamate them together and push them through to the next page where I could then use them all easily in another ZSQL method by just passing REQUEST. (note, I am using ZODBCDA so zsql_result.dictionaires() is unavailable to me!). Something like this(but that actually works ;-)): <form> <dtml-in zsql_method> <dtml-in sequence-item> <input type="hidden" name="<dtml-var sequence-item-name>" value="<dtml-var sequence-item-value"> > </dtml-in> </dtml-in> <many other inputs here................> <input type="submit" name="submit" value="go"> </form> Thanks, -- -- Erik Myllymaki erik(a)pacific-shores.com

Creates classes available to container but NOT add products menu
by chrisf 07 Mar '02

RegisterClass is cool But what if you don't want to register your product. When you create a product and add a ZobjectManager derived Zclass, all subsequent subclasses appear in the subobject menu but not the Products menu. I have a heap of classes. I do not want every class in the add Products menu. I do want them to be available to the top level container class. How do I do this from within python product code. Chris

The MLM, and associated SPAM filtering, is not buggy, but its not perfect either. I have noticed that the amount of SPAM on this list has been decreasing over the last little while, and frankly, I don't think that every item can be zapped, though I expect things will get better over time. The reason SPAM is annoying is the same reason pop-up ads are annoying - they require you to do something in response like close a window or click delete. On a similar note, a request I might have: I use Outlook (not by choice, its our corporate MUA), and every message that I receive from you to the list is posted with a follow-up flag, which I have to subsequently clear with two mouse clicks. I hope I don't cause offense with my request that you might look into having your MUA disable this from its mail headers? Thanks, Sean -----Original Message----- From: Robin S. Socha [mailto:robin-dated-1015771984.017dee@socha.net] Sent: Thursday, March 07, 2002 7:28 AM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] Dear Listowner... (was: [±¤°í]Á¶ÈÀ¯¿µ¾î ¿¥ÇǾ²¸®Ç÷¹ÀÌ¾î ¹«·áÀ̺¥Æ®!!!) In the light of the amount of SPAM I'm seeing from the Zope lists, I wonder if you've ever tought about, like, doing something about it? Like the magic -x switch to *hint* *hint* ezmlm-make and its good ole mimeremove facility. The Mailman FAQ specifically mentions stripmime and demime. Running reverse DNS lookups on the senders would be kinda kinky, too. And... whatever... :-/ So, dear Listowner, could you PLEASE TURN THIS CRAP OFF? That'd be much appreciated, really. Do I sound bitter? That's because I just found out that this month alone, I've received 1335 pieces of SPAM. And somehow I feel that I don't need dysfunctionally configured MLMs to add to that. And while you're at it, could you please consider fixing the banner: ,---- | 1 _______________________________________________ | 2 Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org | 3 http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope | 4 ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** | 5 (Related lists - | 6 http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce | 7 http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev ) `---- 1: Not needed. 2. Is there a way to do this : #import History module from OFS import History #derive from Historical mixin class Document(PortalContent, DefaultDublinCoreImpl, History.Historical): #add the History tab to the Zope Management Interface manage_options=PortalContent.manage_options+History.Historical.manage_op tions #override the manage_historyCompare method #NOTE: in this example I set the resultso f hte comparison into the REQUEST variable, historyComparisonResults #which is then rendered by a pagetemplate history_comparison def manage_historyCompare(self, rev1, rev2, REQUEST, historyComparisonResults=''): historyComparisonResults=History.html_diff( rev1.CookedBody(), rev2.CookedBody() ) self.REQUEST.set('historyComparisonResults', historyComparisonResults) return self.history_comparison(self.REQUEST) with DTML only ?
