We are considering zope as our content management framework, and are looking for consultants in the Minneapolis area who would be able to: 1. Come in and discuss how zope would fit into our IT requirements 2. Work with us for an extendted time frame to design and implement the core framework for our intranet. I'm looking for Zope expertise in our area if anyone can point me in the right direction. Thanks Powered by the E-mail PIM - Info Select - www.miclog.com

Re: [Zope] Menu of Timezones

Thanks for the reply and the link. What made me think this was possible was lines 673-675 in the page you gave the link to: "The module function Timezones() will return a list of the timezones recognized by the DateTime module. Recognition of timezone names is case-insensitive." I forgot to mention that I did look at the DateTime.py in the version of Zope I'm running (Revision: 1.68.2.2 instead of 1.68.2.1 in the page you pointed to), and the last four lines are: # Module methods def Timezones(): """Return the list of recognized timezone names""" return _cache._zlst If this isn't standard, though, there's not much point in persuing it, so I guess I will just hardcode the ones I think will be most useful. >From: "Andy" <andy(a)agmweb.ca> >To: "John Wheeler" <jdw27_42(a)hotmail.com>, <zope(a)zope.org> >Subject: Re: [Zope] Menu of Timezones >Date: Thu, 14 Feb 2002 15:04:38 -0800 > >If you read the DateTime docs there is absolutely hint of a method that >returns the list of time zones. Virtual Host Moster w/ Apache.
by Jason C. Leach 15 Feb '02

hi, I have some virtual hosts behind an Apache proxy, I use Apache so I can have unique log files for each site. But some times I get urls that look like: /domain/domain/domain/file In the root folder of Zope I have a 'domain' folder for each domain we hosts. It's probably some combination of a SiteRoot or Apache's rewrieing. Below is one of my apache VirtualSites. Zope is behind a firewall thus the 9673 port. <VirtualHost 192.168.100.100> ServerAdmin webmaster(a)jsthrower.com ServerName riverspirit.ca ServerAlias www.riverspirit.ca #DocumentRoot /var/www/riverspirit.ca/riverspirit ErrorLog /var/log/apache/riverspirit.ca-error.log TransferLog /var/log/apache/riverspirit.ca-access.log <IfModule mod_rewrite.c> RewriteEngine On RewriteLog "/var/log/apache/rewrite_log" RewriteLogLevel 0 RewriteRule ^/local/ - [L] RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://www.riverspirit.ca:9673/riverspirit.ca/$1 [P] </IfModule> </VirtualHost> -- ...................... ..... RE: [Zope] Houston, we have forked - ZMySQLDA keeps braking
by Micah Martin 14 Feb '02

Thanks Dieter, That information is very helpful and it sounds like you hit it on the nail. I had downloaded the ZMySQLDA product off the zope.org site, I didn't realize this was an ancient version (1-1-3). It did in fact print a deprication error message to stdout on startup so without a terminal... Redirecting output with the nohup cmd seemed to allow the MySQLDA product to restart successfully. I've since installed the newest version of MySQLDA off sourceforge. I have faith that this will work better. Thanks all, Micah -----Original Message----- From: Dieter Maurer [mailto:dieter@handshake.de] Sent: Thursday, February 14, 2002 3:18 PM To: Micah Martin Cc: 'zope(a)zope.org' Subject: Re: [Zope] Houston, we have forked - ZMySQLDA keeps braking Micah Martin writes: > I realize that this has been discussed here before but I was not able to > find the information needed. This may happen, when a process is started in a terminal session and the session is later terminated (but the process is still running). An explicit redirect of stdout and stderr may help with this. The two problems are almost surely not related. By the way: did you already upgrade to Python 2.1.2 and Zope 2.4.4 or Zope 2.5? There are known memory management problems in earlier Python/Zope versions. Dieter

Menu of Timezones
by John Wheeler 14 Feb '02

14 Feb '02

For an input form, I'd like to make a menu of time zones. I saw in Appendix B: API Reference of the Zope Book that there already is a DateTime module function that returns a list of timezones, so I thought I could simply use <dtml-in> to go through the list, wrapping each sequence-item with <option></option>. I tried every combination I could think of but got an error every time: <dtml-in {below}> Error Name Error Value ================= ========== =========== DateTime.Timezones KeyError DateTime.Timezones Timezones KeyError Timezones "_.Timezones()" AttributeError Timezones "DateTime.Timezones()" NameError global name 'DateTime' is not defined "_.DateTime.Timezones()" AttributeError class DateTime has no attribute 'Timezones' "DateTime[Timezones]" NameError global name 'DateTime' is not defined "_.DateTime[Timezones]" NameError global name 'Timezones' is not defined "_.DateTime._Timezones()" SyntaxError Line 2: "_Timezones" is an invalid attribute name because it starts with "_". I even tried writing a python method using "from DateTime import Timezones" but got an ImportError: import of "Timezones" from "DateTime" is unauthorized. Is it just not possible to access Timezones() through the web? If I'd have to go to an external method, I'll just hardcode the timezones into the DTML method by hand. _________________________________________________________________ MSN Photos is the easiest way to share and print your photos: http://photos.msn.com/support/worldwide.aspx

connecting MySQL and Zope
by Raymond Norton 14 Feb '02

14 Feb '02

I have made several attempts to install the ZMySQLDA database adpapter and MySQL-python database driver according to the book "Zope web applications construction kit". I am getting errors with "make" 1) In function pythonify_row assignment from incompatible pointer type. 2)In function pythonify_res_fields invalid lvalue in unary 3) In function STH_fetchdict invalid lvalue in unary I am using RedHAt 7.1 with Python 1.5.2 and 2.1 It looks like "make" is trying to use 1.5.2 instead of 2.1. I am aware that my version of Zope 2.5 bianry comes with it's own install of 2.1, but am not sure how to force it to use it for this . I would appreciate any help clearing up the problem. -- Raymond Norton Little Crow Telemedia Network 320-234-0270

Hello, I tried <dtml-let item="sonstiges.help.sonstiges.err.getitem(_.str(httpcode))"> <dtml-if item> <dtml-var "item.title()"> <dtml-else> NO ITEM </dtml-if> <dtml-let> My "err" folder as several of DTML Methods which give an explanation for every HTTP error code. I want to retrieve that explanation. It has to be failsafe in cases where an explanation for the errorcode is missing. What is wrong with my code? Any ideas how to solve the problem? Thanks Ulrich

Problem with grouping of a sequence
by Doyon, Jean-Francois 14 Feb '02

14 Feb '02

Hello, I'm trying to group a sequence by their first letter to build a list of objects, but am having a problem: The <dtml-if first-sequence-letter> never becomes true! I can print out <dtml-var sequence-letter> just fine, but if I try to detect when they change, no dice, it never occurs! Here's my code: <dtml-var standard_html_header> <table> <dtml-in "portal_catalog.searchResults( meta_type='Archive Map', review_state='published')" sort=Title skip_unauthorized> <dtml-if first-sequence-Letter>true</dtml-if> <tr><td><dtml-var sequence-Letter></td></tr> <tr><td><dtml-var Title></td></tr> </dtml-in> </table> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> This should output each letter of the alphabet as they change, right? What am I doing wrong here? Is this a bug? Any help woul dbe greatly appreciated! I'd rather NOT have ot do 26 different queries :) Thanks, Jean-François Doyon Internet Service Development and Systems Support GeoAccess Division Canadian Center for Remote Sensing Natural Resources Canada http://atlas.gc.ca Phone: (613) 992-4902 Fax: (613) 947-2410
