Broken page templates in 2.5.0

I have just installed a vanilla source build of Zope 2.5.0 and all the included page templates are broken. If I click on one in the ZMI, or call a page template page I get a PTRuntimeError with the following traceback: Traceback (innermost last): File /var/zope/2-5-0/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 150, in publish_module File /var/zope/2-5-0/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 114, in publish File /var/zope/2-5-0/lib/python/Zope/__init__.py, line 158, in zpublisher_exception_hook (Object: Examples) File /var/zope/2-5-0/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 98, in publish File /var/zope/2-5-0/lib/python/ZPublisher/mapply.py, line 88, in mapply (Object: index_html) File /var/zope/2-5-0/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 39, in call_object (Object: index_html) File /var/zope/2-5-0/lib/python/Shared/DC/Scripts/Bindings.py, line 252, in __call__ (Object: index_html) File /var/zope/2-5-0/lib/python/Shared/DC/Scripts/Bindings.py, line 283, in _bindAndExec (Object: index_html) File /var/zope/2-5-0/lib/python/Products/PageTemplates/ZopePageTemplate.py, line 207, in _exec (Object: index_html) File /var/zope/2-5-0/lib/python/Products/PageTemplates/PageTemplate.py, line 76, in pt_render (Object: index_html) PTRuntimeError: Page Template index_html has errors. If I want to pass *any* arguments to the method, I must also explicitly pass REQUEST. But if I call the method without arguments, it will magically be passed the caller's REQUEST. Re: [Zope] httpd processes

Hello, As far as I know: If for some reason your zope http request doesn't complete, you end up with all the threads busy, and the site doesn't respond anymore. That's a normal Zope behaviour :-) Gilles ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stephan Goeldi" <stephan_goeldi(a)hotmail.com> To: <zope(a)zope.org> Sent: Monday, February 11, 2002 10:35 AM Subject: [Zope] httpd processes > > > On one of our servers (RedHat 7.0) run about 15 productive Zope instances. > Versions from 2.3.3 up to 2.5.0. RE: [Zope] how can I undo a step when I can not access the folder anymore?

Hi - can you go to a higher level folder and undo from there? Another option - FTP or webdav into the server, and delete the folder? Aquisition and supermethod calls
by Daniel Mahler 11 Feb '02

11 Feb '02

Hi, I was wonder how one should do an analog of supermethod calls for aquisition. For example I may want the index_html in some folder to wrap some information around the aquired index_html. I have come up with the incantation +++++ index_html ++++ some added stuff <dtml-var "PARENTS[1].index_html(this(),REQUEST,RESPONSE)"> some more added stuff ++++++++++++++++++++++ This, however, leads to infinite recursion errors if the new index_html is itself being acquired. Is there a better way to do what I want? [Using header and footer methods will not help, since "index_html" is not the the method I am actually working with] thanks Daniel

Is there a list-of-dictionaries-like property?
by Juergen R. Plasser / HEXAGON 11 Feb '02

11 Feb '02

I hope you don't mind my stupid question, but I want to hear the expert's opinions. Is there a simple way to implement a Python-like list of dictionaries as property within a ZClass? I need to store a data structure like this (a list of dictionaries): [{'uid':1,'status':0},{'uid':2,'status':1},{'uid':3,'status':0},{'uid':4,'s tatus':3}] The obvoius thing to do would be creating a new class or am I missing something? Thanks for some hints, Juergen

How come you can't add a multiple selection property in a python script?
by complaw＠hal-pc.org 11 Feb '02

11 Feb '02

How come this... doc.manage_addProperty('specific_topics', specific_topics, 'multiple_selection', select_variable=context.list_of_selections) .. won't work (it generates an error) when you try it from a python script. >From the PropertyManager.py source code on CVS: "For 'selection' and 'multiple selection' properties, there is an addition item in the property dictionay, 'select_variable' which provides the name of a property or method which returns a list of strings from which the selection(s) can be chosen." So the source says you should be able to do it. And you clearly can, in normal circumstances (i.e., through the web). So how come you can't do it from a python script? Ron

Did you make a "make" in between? If not, you still have the old executable and shared objects... Dieter
