Greetings, Feel free to tell me this is a stupid idea, but for sake of clean sources after rendering a page in Zope, could it be possible to indent the contents of a var statement? Observe: Doc1 <html> <body> <dtml-var Doc2> <body> </html> Doc2 <table> <tr> <td> Hi </td> </tr> </table> Note the doc2 is not indented to where the var tag starts, you would typically want it indented properly. When rendered you see <html> <body> <table> <tr> <td> Hi </td> </tr> </table> <body> </html> But if the rendering indented all the outputted contents of doc2 to the space that the var tag is in the calling document you should see: <html> <body> <table> <tr> <td> Hi </td> </tr> </table> <body> </html> Is this totally useless or do I miss something? Postponing insertion in database

Hi, my problem is that i have three consecutive forms: when i click the submit button of the first one, i insert in the database and then redirect to the second form, and the same with the second and third. But the three insertions must be completed if i want to have a database not corrupted. If the user stops in the second form, for example by closing the navigator, the previous insertion must be undone. I thought two solutions, the first one is using hidden inputs and insert all in the last step, but i don´t like very much this solution. The other one is using transactions, but i don't know how to manage them. Anyone could help me with a suggestion or a link? Zope 2.4.2 ZPsycopgDA 1.0 PostgreSQL 7.1.3 Thanks. Bye. Juan

Why isn't this perl method working?

I have this little perl method: ------------------------------- my $accept_language=$REQUEST->get_header(*name=>'ACCEPT_LANGUAGE'); return $accept_language; ------------------------------- I get this PerlError: 'Usage: Python::PyObject_GetAttr(o, attrname) at /home/zope/lib/perl/Zope.pm line 118. ' Isn't this the correct syntax? I use REQUEST as an argument. Since I can't use 'use Python' in a method I cannot use the other calling-system. What am I doing wrong? As you probably can understand, I'm going to return the accept-language CGI-var as an array to the client, listed in order of preference... Zope 2.5.0 Perl 5.6.1 with ithreads Latest stable pyperl and zoperl (installed after the manual). -- Robin

Form gets erased after 'View' and back button in ZMI

This is best explained with an example. I edit a DTML Method. I press 'save changes'. ZMI says there is something wrong with the code, I press the 'back' button in my browser. IE then reports that the page is expired and I have to press refresh to get the contents of the form back. The edits I just made, which caused the error is gone and the form reverts to the last saved values for this document. I want to be able to see the cached page which includes the values I previously entered into the form (which had errors). This is probably some setting in Internet Explorer regarding caching and use of proxy, but I can't quite get the correct settings set. I've tried to add a Cache Manager object, but this has been removed again. I use IE 6.0.2600.0000.xpclient.010817-1148, WinXP Professional, squid-2.4.STABLE1-6. I don't think the proxy is wrong, because I experience the same behaviour when I turn it off in the browser. My IE cache settings is set to 'Check for newer versions of stored pages: Every visit to the page'. I've tried it on 'automatically', with and without proxy, but this doesn't help. I've tried the other options too, but it doesn't seem to do the trick. Am I missing something here? -- Robin PS: Mozilla 0.9.8 seems to do the right thing, so it's definitly a browser "problem".

Showing value returned by Z SQL Method

Newbie question: How do I get the value of the Z SQL Method "count" which returns only the result of SELECT COUNT(*) ? <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('myCount',_.int(count))"> didn't work. Thanks for any help. Anclo

Zope 2.5.0 and Sessions

It seems that sessions are not working properly. If i set "Cookie Lifetime In Days " eq 0 the session data deletes after 15-25 minutes but not when Browser exits. Best regards, Andrew

Compile Python

I'm using win 98 with dev c++ and the latest cygwin. I would like to use the gui of dev c++ but I've already tried to use cygwin to mount a temp directory to compile the zope source. I used something like "python wo_pcgi.py". I've looked at previous examples, I guess I'm not understanding the makefile/setup file part. Xron problem, Data.fs disappeared!

Hi, Here is what happened: I have Zope 2.4.1, Python 2.1, Xron-0-0-10 installed. I have three Xron Methods that run every 15 minutes and one that runs every day at 2 am (call it reportsender). At 2 am reportsender started and finished ok. Just after reportsender finished it's work, another Xronmethod was called - it finished with ok status. Than: 2002-02-09T02:00:03 ERROR(200) Catalog uncatalogObject unsuccessfully attempted to uncatalog an object with a uid of /TO/Reports/reportsender And reportsender started being called a few times every second. ....Until Data.fs has reached 2 Gb limit.... (it was at 02:51 am). From that time to about 11:36 am Zope was reporting errors reading Data.fs. At 11:36 it stopped reporting errors and started to work fine - nothing else suspicious happend. The only problem was that old data.fs disappeared and new one, empty appeared. I have here two problems: 1. How Xron could call reportsender million or more times? 2. How could my Data.fs had disappeared? The day before (08.02.2002) reportsender was moved (cut+paste) from one place to another. First it wasn't under any SiteRoot, after copying it came under SiteRoot and a UserFolder (i think it is the source of problem). 2002-02-09 01:00 - 13 GB free disk space Thank you for any suggestions why that happened
