Initialising DateTime object from SQL query

Hello everyone, Sorry in advance for the elongated description of my problem, I just want to make sure I include all the information that might be required... I have a dtml-method which will automaticly create date selection elements for a form. I pass it a default date in the form of a DateTime object. The value of the form elements is then initialised to this date. Normally I just run it like this: <dtml-var expr="selectDate_dtml(_.None,_,id='s',default=_.DateTime())"> Which sets the default date to the current one, and this works fine. However, sometimes I want to initialise this bit of the form with a date extracted from an SQL query. I can access the field in question without a problem as a normal variable: <dtml-var date_start> displays as 2002/02/08 Now, I know that this format is appropriate to pass to the constructer for DateTime, because when I type in a date by hand, it works fine: <dtml-var expr="selectDate_dtml(_.None,_,id='s',default=_.DateTime('2002/02/08'))"> However, when I pass the date_start variable to my dtml method as _.DateTime(date_start), I get the following error message: --- Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: TypeError Error Value: unsupported operand type(s) for / --- It looks like it isn't passing this variable to DateTime as a string, so how do I make it do that? Mixins and Extension Classes

Is it possible to use mixin classes with extension classes? I am playing around with adding an additional base class to Folder, but the usual way of mixing in classes doesn't seem to work (i.e. Folder.__bases__ = (MyClass,)+Folder.__bases__). Making ZClasses Inherit Subobjects from Bases

If I create a ZClass, ZC1, that subclasses ZClasses: ObjectManager and then create another, ZC2, that subclasses ZC1. As long as I don't save changes in the subobjects tab of ZC2, it will inherit the subobjects settings from ZC1. But as soon as I do save any changes, there is then no way to unset the subobjects and return it to the inherited subobjects. I think the way to do this would be to write a python method of my python base ZClass that calls the delClassAttr method from ZClasses.ZClass. But I can't seem to get this to work. zope and apache

Hello, I have a website http://www.fpc-stillwater.org with the site in zope. It is running through zope and sending it to zope, where the site sits. In my httpd.conf file I have: RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://www.fpc-stillwater.org:9673/fpc/$1 [P,L,R] The problem is, when I goto for example http://www.fpc-stillwater.org/about/index.html my link in html is <a href="../index.html"> which should goto http://www.fpc-stillwater.org/index.html but when I click on it it goes to http://www.fpc-stillwater.org/about/index.html. It is as if zope ignores any '../'. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance for your help. Thanks, Matt

zope, python, and double underscores

hi. can anyone tell me why in the world zope gives me these snide "__init__" is an invalid variable name because it starts with "_" "__repr__" is an invalid variable name because it starts with "_" "__name__" is an invalid variable name because it starts with "_" errors when i try to run a script that works outside of zope. i'm relatively new to zope, and very new to python. nevertheless, i know that i'm using __init__, __name__, and __repr__ correctly. thanks, adam

I am very new, and just trying to set up the ZMySQLDA adapter and MySQL-python driver. As per the instructions I am trying to compile the drivers. I entered "python setup.py build" I get the following error: trackback (intermost last): File "setup.py", line 6, in ? from distutils.core import setup ImportError: No Module named distutils.core. cronjob for ZSyncer

zcatalog search limitations?

Howdy, I've begun using ZCatalogs and I really like them. I've run into a problem though. I've indexed about 10,000 folders, and I'm trying to query using the "path" to the objects. It seems like I can only look in a maximum of 32 paths before I get a Zope error (error traceback at the bottom). Are there any ideas on how to get around this limitation? I'm going to try and figure out where this error message is getting thrown, but my first glance into the PluginIndexes/PathIndex source didn't get me very far.
