specify passive ports for ftp

Hi I have a problem using Zope passive ftp. * We have configured our firewall for high security. * The problem is using passive ftp because one can not know wich ports being used for communication. * Opening all high ports on the firewall is not an option. Is it possible to specify which ports Zope er allowed to use for passive ftp (like you edit 'ftpaccess' for other ftp servers), so that we can reconfigure the firewall for these ports? If not, are there any other way of solving this?...except for modify ftp source code. Thanks for all help! Regards Arnt-Hugo Nilsen

What security settings does ZWiki need

distutils is not included in python 1.5.2, only later pythons have that preinstalled. You need a newer python or you need to go to www.python.org and get the disutils package for python 1.5.2 Better yet, The new binary version of Zope 2.5.0 comes with Python 2.1.2 but you may want to build python yourself so you can add neat things like PIL and ZGDchart. for graphing your data in mysql. Hello Zope'ers, I am trying to setup Zope with Apache in front just to play around. I set it up to use FastCGI and /tmp/zope.soc for the connection. Newbie Tutorial?

I am researching WEB Application servers with the goal to select one for a project. I have read much on Zope online and would like to get my feet wet but I see no online docs/tutorial for a complete Zope newbie. I see there is a book, but I only want to get my feet wet to see how it works in practice. But I don't even know how to log into Zope after installing it. Dan

How to prevent concurrent access to the same object?

Hi! Is it possible to make a zope object which doesn't allow simultaneous access to itself? I mean that if two users call methods of the same object then only one call will process at a time and the other one will wait untill the first call will finish. I tried to fix it up with unix semaphores but with no success. -- Alexei

First, your command line is incorrect. There is a required parameter 'cmd' that your command line is missing. No loss, though. ZopeMake doesn't properly handle such options. There are several bugs in ZopeMake. It appears in the code that it doesn't set the cmd variable that it looks for... :( I patched that code a long time ago, so my name is still in the comments. I add additional patching to my list of things todo. For the moment, you'll have to survive without ZopeMake working. Python script and mysql

I am particularly interested in createing forms and updateing forms based on the content of the table, ie different tables containing different schemas - then build data entry and updating on the fly Any Refs, pointers, examples welcome TIA David Kyte
