Storing Persistent Objects as keys in BTrees
by Thomas Guettler 08 Feb '02

08 Feb '02

Hi have problem that appears at random: I store Persistent Objects (inherited from a Zope Folder) as keys in a OOBTree. I developed something like mxmRelation (http://www.zope.org/Members/maxm/productList/mxmRelations) It is strange: I get "r" from the keys of the hash, but if I try to get it from the hash it fails. This only happens sometimes. def tostring(self): "return string of the relations" result={} for r in self._tree.keys(): result[r]=[] hash_back=self._tree.get(r, None) if hash_back==None: print "tostring(): ", r raise Exception, "Internal Error ???" return for r2 in hash_back.keys(): result[r].append(r2) return result It is a single threaded application I use the version for win32: Zope 2.5.0 (binary release, python 2.1, win32-x86), python 2.1.2, win32

Re: [Zope] passing values from dtml->dtml; http quote?
by Juan Garcia Garcia 08 Feb '02

Hi, you can convert the spaces into %20 and this should work in anchors. You must specify an attribute for the dtml-var tag, and the syntax would be like this: <dtml-var variable url_quote> Bye. Juan > I have some arguments that I want to pass from one DTML method to > another. In the source DTML document, the values are in the REQUEST > object. I could pass them to the destination document with the CGI > syntax > > <a href=print_eeg_description?id=<dtml-var id>&fname=<dtml-var > eeg_url>&date=<dtml-var date>>description</a> > > where print_eeg_description is the destination DTML document. PowerMTA by Port25
by Garry Galinsky 08 Feb '02

Has anyone out there combined Port25's PowerMTA and zope through the PowerMTA API? Getting the two systems to work together via SMTP calls is easily doable, however, I was hoping to achieve greater efficiencies through the API. Any input would be appreciated. Garry Galinsky garry(a)galinsky.net

RE: [Zope] WYSIWYG HTML Editors and Zope?
by Bjorn Stabell 08 Feb '02

We're using IE's built-in HTML Editor that we have embedded into the Zope Management Interface. There are plenty of examples and ready-made interfaces for it available online, but it has changed quite a bit since IE4, IE5 and IE6, so compatibility is a problem. -----Original Message----- From: das(a)wi.rr.NOESPAM.com [mailto:das@wi.rr.NOESPAM.com] Posted At: Friday, February 08, 2002 11:03 Posted To: Zope List Conversation: [Zope] WYSIWYG HTML Editors and Zope? Subject: [Zope] WYSIWYG HTML Editors and Zope? What are the best WYSIWYG HTML Editors to use with Zope? I have read the primary feature is not to touch the XML tal tags that would be embedded in the HTML. We currently use ColdFusion, but have no idea how this editor works with Zope page templates. Instead of reinventing the wheel I would like other hard-earned opinions. mirror to non-zope site?
by Jack Coates 08 Feb '02

08 Feb '02

Is there any way to mirror zope content to a non-zope directory? Specifically, I have a directory of content which I would like to mirror on sourceforge. They don't have zope there, but I do have zope here. If the content was static then rsync would work. It looks like I might be able to do something with wget, but since it will grab the whole site every time instead of synchronizing, I'm not thrilled. Is there a better way? setting up standalone server
by Samuel Parsons 08 Feb '02

08 Feb '02

Zope, I have some questions about setting up a stand alone zope server. How do I bind it to the right IP address. I've got it to accept all requests on port 80 (rather than 8080), but how do i get it to respond to one ethernet card (ie one ip address) and not another? thanks samueljparsons(a)yahoo.co.uk _________________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? sendmail in standard_error_message
by Muñoz, Julián 08 Feb '02

Dear Arian, I had exactly the same problem you had in the message you posted in Decembre. I solved it activating the "Use mailhost services" persmission for Anonymour Role in the MailHost object. ---- Hi Chris, Thanks for your response. > Firstup, read this: > > http://www.zope.org/Members/JohnC/StandardErrorMessage Yep, read that -- it's where I started from. > I would guess at a security problem. > See if an anonymous user can execute your template... I found a workaround which was to use the smtphost= instead of mailhost=, so I guess the security problem is with the mailhost object. Now opened that up to allow "View" and "Access Contents Info" for Anon and Authenticated, but still no joy. I guess I'll just stick with the smtphost= attribute instead. Probably best not to have standard_error_message dependent on too many other objects anyway... I have copied this to the list for others to see (perhaps when searching the archives many moons from now)? Hope that's acceptable netiquette... how to enable Large File Support with 2.5 release?
by marc lindahl 07 Feb '02

07 Feb '02

Since zope 2.5 comes with Python, it seems appropriate that an option to enable LFS be provided, eh? I've been digging around and can't figure out where to get this going, since the python.org instructions (section 8.1.1), which are tentative at best anyhow, point to a 'configure' file which isn't present... help!!

problem with python script
by D. Rick Anderson 07 Feb '02

07 Feb '02

I am having a horrible time with a python script. The idea is to get a dollars-and-cents formatted string from the 3.87987234233e-1234 type string that the Sybase server is returning. The python script looks like this: --- final = (float(int(float(number[0:10]) * 100)) / 100) return final --- with one parameter (number) when I call it with either: <dtml-call expr="numberTrim(number=cur_bal)"> or <dtml-var expr="numberTrim(number=cur_bal)"> I get: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: unsliceable object if I use the "test" at the top and enter a value it works fine and if I hard code a value it works as well. The only time it WON'T work is when it's called with the cur_bal variable. Has anybody ran into this before? Thanks, Rick
