Hi, I use the ExUserFolder and I want that new Users can register themselves. How can I realize this? At the moment I can create new users only as Admin in the manage-screen. Regards Steven

RE: [Zope] </dtml-var>?!?!?
by David Thibault 07 Feb '02

I figured it out. For some reason, when you create a folder in 2.5.0, and you do "Create public interface", it was doing a Page Template instead of a dtml document. That's why my index_html wasn't interpreting dtml. I haven't messed with the page templates yet, so I was probably just not supposed to put dtml in it or something. Is it supposed to do page templates for the auto-generated public interfaces (index_html's)? What might cause that? Typically a syntax error. A missing quote sign, or something like that. _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )

OK, if I do a "View/Page Source" in netscape on that index_html page, I see the dtml code...the server is not parsing it out. What might cause that? Why would this be something new in 2.5.0? I did notice that there's now a "Content type" box in the manage_workspace... Dave -----Original Message----- From: Matthew T. Kromer [mailto:matt@zope.com] Sent: Wednesday, February 06, 2002 3:29 PM To: 'zope(a)zope.org' Subject: Re: [Zope] </dtml-var>?!?!? Hi Dave, Using your example, I was not able to reproduce your problem. I did not see any new tags get created in the editor, nor did I fail to ese the "If this test works this should print" message. What happens when you view the frame source of your page that omits "if this test works this should print?" Is it there with some kind of tag around it? Did you make any changes to standard_html_header? David Thibault wrote: > Hello all, > > This is my first post. I've noticed a couple of weird things in > 2.5.0. Re: [Zope-dev] Dependency problem with SimpleItem

From: "Romain Slootmaekers" <romain(a)zzict.com> > But I can't do that because I use my SimpleItem in a process other than > the zope server. and then I get problems with the lock on the Zope > database. I just want to construct a SimpleItem, and store it somewhere > else than the database that the zope server uses.... SimpleItem is a Zope object and most of it simply makes no sense outside of a zope environment, so my question is: What are you really trying to do?

Installing PyXML in Windows Zope 2.5.0?
by Jeff Kowalczyk 06 Feb '02

06 Feb '02

I would like to know more about installing C extension-using modules such as PyXML into Zope's Python Layout. I installed the "PyXML 0.7 (For Python 2.2)" windows binary distribution into my separate Python 2.2 installation, and it used C:\progra~1\Python\Lib\site-packages\ to do its intermediate build operations. That path was found from a known registry key by the installer, but I had the opportunity to choose something else. The built modules were installed under Python\Lib\xml\, as expected. If I were to use "PyXML 0.7 (For Python 2.1)" and install it into my Zope installation on the same machine, would I select a path of C:\progra~1\Zope\bin\lib\site-packages\, where I create \site-packages manually before the install? Thanks.

</dtml-var>?!?!?
by David Thibault 06 Feb '02

06 Feb '02

Hello all, This is my first post. I've noticed a couple of weird things in 2.5.0. First off, the management editor keeps insisting on putting closing tags in for <dtml-var> (like </dtml-var>) after I click "Save Changes" on a DTML doc. Also, for some reason, the <dtml-var someDTMLMethod> doesn't work. Here's an example: index_html is a dtml document that contains the following (note the dotted lines are not part of the code, they just delimit it for the purposes of this email): ------------------------------------ <dtml-var standard_html_header> Testing... <dtml-var testDtmlMethod> Done test! <dtml-var standard_html_footer> ------------------------------------ and testDtmlMethod is a DTML Method that contains: ----------------------- IF THE TEST WORKS THIS SHOULD PRINT!!! ----------------------- When you view index_html in the browser, it looks like this: ----------------------- Testing... Done test! ----------------------- But it should print this: ----------------------- Testing... IF THE TEST WORKS THIS SHOULD PRINT!!! Done test! ----------------------- Am I missing some new "Feature" in 2.5.0? Help! Thanks in advance, Dave Thibault

ending a chunked http stream
by seb bacon 06 Feb '02

I'm writing some things in a stream to the browser, to keep the user informed that stuff is happening while a long-winded process unfolds. When that process has ended, I want to publish a DTML template as a new page. How can I end the HTTP stream and start a new one? def someFunction(self, REQUEST): response = REQUEST.RESPONSE # do something longwinded response.write("please wait") # do something else longwinded # now I want the following DTML Method to get displayed return self._report_template(self, REQUEST) seb
