I've got Apache listening on ports 80 and 443 (using mod_ssl), and Zope running on port 8080. I'm using SiteAccess with Enhanced VirtualHostMonster to host several sites in Zope. I'd like to have my Zope managers log into the ZMI using SSL, and am trying to accomplish this with rewrite rules. Here's an example: <VirtualHost xx.xx.xxx.xxx:443> SSLEngine On SSLCertificateFile openssl/bin/manage.foobar.com.cert SSLCertificateKeyFile openssl/bin/manage.foobar.com.key ServerName manage.foobar.com RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^/(.*) http://manage.foobar.com:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/manage.foobar.com:80/Virt ualHostRoot/$1 [P] </VirtualHost> The rule above gets me past the login, but none of the management screens show up. exUserFolder problems

I've been trying to get exUserFolder to work, but no matter what authentication source I choose, I can always login using a username registered with exUserFolder, but with ANY password, not just the one registered for the user. This occurs wherever I put the user folder, and even when using the ZODB Auth source. Python version: 2.1.2 Zope version: 2.5.0 ExUserFolder Version: 0.10.7 (from CVS, but this also happened using 0.10.6) Anyone come across this problem before?

Calendar Tag Question...

I have installed the Calendar tag and it works great. I have been nagged by not being able to call another DTML method within one of the calendars cells and passing the current cell's year, month, and day values derived from the calendar's date variable. I am calling a method that lists the events for a particular day and should appear in it's specific days cell. I am certain there is a simple way to do it but I cannot find a clear example in the docs including "As http://www.zope.org/Members/michel/ZB/AppendixB.dtml reveals" this one. I understand the theory just fine, it is the syntax that I cannot figure out for this particular problem. In fact I have always found the specifics of the answers I need but not many literal examples of how to format in different situations. I am making notes because I think I am not the only one. Very grateful for any help... My clients table does not have real date values but is broken into different fields for ease of reporting I am told. They are right it does make it easier to create simple grouped and tabular reports but causes this issue when not an actual date format. Example of what does not work. Why will be obvious to most of you. Call profiler, profiling ZPTs?

In my Configure screen I get only to monitor DTML Method, Python Script and Z SQL Methods. I also want to monitor Zope page templates. What do I need to do? peter (Zope 2.4.0. ZPT 1.4.1) PS. ZPTs are working fine on the server.

ZDiscussions instalation problems

When trying to install ZUBB product (I've tried versions ZDiscussions-0.6.0 and 0.7.1 with the same result) I seem to be able to install the product correctly, but when attempting to create an instance of ZDiscussion Topic (after entering ID and Title) I get the following error: Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Master-detail database updates

Is there a best practice way of writing master-detail forms for database inserts/updates with Zope? I haven't been able to find any good examples in the documentation or how-to's. I have managed to get an html form to work for inserting/updating a master table and two associated detail tables from the limited information I have found, but what I have done seems a complete messy kludge. It has involved using znolk to generate the default forms for the master table maintenance and then adding sql-methods to get the detail information which I then put into list variables. I loop round the list variables on the update form to display all the detail lines and then loop round an extra couple of times to generate empty detail lines to allow for additions of detail. I have another submit button on the form that basically just redraws the form but adds some extra blank lines to the detail if they are needed. Finally when saving the information I have the update method do an update of the master table data then delete all the associated detail table data and then add back in all the detail from the form. Although this works there are a number of things that I don't like about it, the main one being the fact it deletes all the detail data and then adds it back. However, all the alternatives I could think of had their own drawbacks. Has anyone else been through the same sort of things? Are there any products that would help? Are there better ways to do it using python scripts and database packages/procedures (the database is Oracle 8i)? Any suggestions are welcome.
