Hi there, how can I "pretend" that there is an object with a .doc extension when this object is accessed trough webdav? The motivation behind the question is that I want to be able treat things differently when word is accessing an object. thanks for your answers Robert

Hi All, In taking a look at the Zope.com case studies I was suprised not to see this site. http://www.CBSNewYork.com must be the largest and most visable Zope site out there. I think it would be great if Zope Corp could do a case study on them. Some of the things I would love to know about: - hardware - hits / page views - type of Zope installation (CMF, ZEO) Who do I have to bribe? :) BZ

Dear list, I am new to Zope solution. Now , we are evaluate the Zope. We are using Apache && PHP && MySQL to publish our newpaper on website. The news content is inserted to MySQL by a script , then confirm by secretary. We wrote a simple interface let the colleague to do this. In the near future we probably will set the permission to reporters && editors. Let them can work more closly on website. And we are going to add more value service on this site. for examples: the forum relate to news, talk back, each content could have relation to each content. The news could relate to Ad. banner, and display the picture for each news. News are talking about the some topic could relate to the same discussion forum. && more ..... more Our URL looks like. main url: http://www.xxxcompany.com/news news is a PHP script , this page will produce all the link of today's news content. The news url: http://www.xxxcompany/news/2001/12/21/story/0000116688 The news script will explain the rest of url to 2001-12-21 the date field in news table in our db. story is for different include lib file for different purpose. 0000116688 is the article id in news table. then we can build the web page. It's the way we are doing now. But by thinking about the future. We try to build a solution for more roubst && extensible && more perple involved. Then we start thinking the Zope && ZEO. "remote" user-account authentication

Hi Folks; With my current (Linux) network setup I have existing user accounts on one server and Zope running on another. I'd like to use Zope to create a interface that allows folks to customize some aspects of their accounts, but I've got a little problem right off the start. Obviously I want users to login to Zope before they can change anything, which requires users to be authenticated against the existing accounts on the other server. I thought perhaps my problems were solved when I saw exUserFolder in combination with zExtraAuths (authenticating users against IMAPD on the main server). Alas, zExtraAuths is no longer supported by the author, and no longer works correctly with the newer versions of exUserFolder. Is there a relatively sane way to validate external accounts on a different machine so that users may login to Zope with the same Username/password (short of trying to see what isn't working with zExtraAuths and seeing if I can patch it for my needs... I'm not really a Python-person yet). Installing additional software on the user-account server is not entirely out of the question either. Any insight would be appreciated. Is this a good way to get the name of the current DTML document? <dtml-var "_['URL'].split('/')[-1]"> Also, how would I print out all the fields for '_'? (always looking for a way to write code to figure out what I want to do...) Automatically including another document

Here's what I'm trying to do: in a subdirectory off the current one, called "book", there is a file with the same name as this one, and I want to include it in the current DTML document. Here's what I have so far: <dtml-with book> <dtml-let text="_['URL'].split('/')[-1]"> <dtml-if text> <dtml-var text> </dtml-if> </dtml-let> </dtml-with> The problem is, <dtml-var text> simply spits out the name of the document, rather than the document contents. (I feel like I've struggled with this before...). Is it possible? Anyone know how to hack up the zope ftp server?

So I found out when accessing files thru the zope ftp server that it FIRST copies it to a temporary directory with a temporary file name. The filename of what you are getting is totally lost and that is why emacs is clueless. So anyone know how to configure/hack the zope ftp server so it at least retains the filename or at least the file extension?
