re: Zope and vim 6.0: netrw, explorer etc.
by Jean Jordaan 23 Dec '01

Hi Gregor I used to want this, but went for a sitecopy-type solution instead. See http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2001-September/099817.html for how we did it. Now I can edit my Zope content with Vim on the filesystem, and use tags, backup files, CVS, and all the other goodies. Jean

Uploading lots of little files to zope
by Jean Jordaan 23 Dec '01

23 Dec '01

>> I now have lots of little files -- thousands -- to upload to Zope >> every time I do an update of a book. FTP-ing is quite painful. Maybe sitecopy could also help here. http://www.lyra.org/sitecopy/ Uploads only changed files; keeps state based on date or checksum. We use it something like http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2001-September/099817.html (that post is a bit out of date here and there: eg. SQL methods and SkinScript have / are getting PUT factories .. Also, you don't need to FTP out new objects, but you do have to create blank ones in the ZODB to have something to upload into. If the new object is Script (Python) you have to see that the header data block (starting with ##) is present.) Jean

ExtFile product bug (with fix)
by Emmanuel Viennet 22 Dec '01

I found a bug in ExtFile product. The handling of If-Modified-Since HTTP header was broken, leading to severe problems when "reloading" images (especially when running zope under Apache). Here is the correction (vs ExtFile.py,v 1.37.2.1): --- ExtFile.py Sat Dec 22 23:40:40 2001 +++ ExtFile.py.orig Tue Sep 11 02:04:10 2001 @@ -216,8 +216,8 @@ last_mod = long(self._p_mtime) else: last_mod = long(0) - if last_mod > 0 and last_mod <= mod_since: - REQUEST.RESPONSE.setStatus(304) + if last_mod > 0 and last_mod < mod_since: + RESPONSE.setStatus(304) return '' if hasattr(self,'has_preview') and self.has_preview: has_preview = 1 < if last_mod > 0 and last_mod <= mod_since: < REQUEST.RESPONSE.setStatus(304) --- > if last_mod > 0 and last_mod < mod_since: > RESPONSE.setStatus(304) return '' if hasattr(self,'has_preview') and self.has_preview: has_preview = 1

Need help with calling ZSQLMethod from External Method
by Michele America 22 Dec '01

22 Dec '01

Hi, I am having some dificulties with calling a ZSQLMethod with parameters from an External Method that has itself been passed the parameters it needs to pass onto the ZSQLMethod. Everything works ok if i just dont send any parameters but as soon as i try to use them the thing just fails. Is there a standard way to do the following.... DTML Method calls External Method which calls ZSQLMethod and all the time passing parameters forward? Any help will be greatly apreciated, Michele America -- mamerica(a)aenor.pt AENOR Auto Estradas do Norte, SA Serviço de Sistemas de Informação e Comunicação ------ Internet Email Confidentiality Notice ------ This email including any attachment hereof are confidential and may be privileged or otherwise legally protected from disclosure and it/they may be read, copied and used by the intended recipient only. zope start errors
by Chris Herrnberger 22 Dec '01

22 Dec '01

Greetings all: Sorry for this newbie question but zope fails to start reporting the local is not supported. Looking at z2.py L is set too '' which means it should default to the system default, and locale is installed in python as a module. The reason I am asking for info is that this system is a fresh 7.3 SuSE install including python and zope rpm from SuSE. In the past when installing zope and python from source I have not seen this error befor. Has any other SuSE user see this error form a stock system. Best Chris H.
