RE: [Zope] mod_rewrite map

Oh. I'm sorry I wasn't very clear. I currently have apache/mod_rewrite in front of zope/zeo. Thus, to lessen clutter on httpd.conf, I want to put all rewrites in a file and call it from there. My main problem comes when VirtualHostMonster is involved. rewritemap doesn't seem to work properly. If someone has implemented this, PLEASE help me. I was able to do what I wanted to do by running your command, opening the inituser file, copying the result, then pasting it into the access file. I will report this problem to the author. Re: [Zope] DCOracle2/ZOracleDA - Unable to create a connection
by Todd Graham 20 Dec '01

I think I might see the problem, on my installation I moved the entire DCOracle2 directory to /lib/python/Products, in fact I think I compilied it in there, but that shouldn't matter. Try and remove the DCOracle2 directory from lib/python/Products and move the whole enchilata from tmp and restart your zope. I don't think there is anything specific that needs to have python 2.1 but I'm not 100% on that. If it doesn't work try to recompile it again and repeat the steps above. here is the ls-l from my DCOracle2 in /lib/python/Products total 176 drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 31 1969 binaries -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9784 Nov 5 08:17 CHANGELOG -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 10126 Oct 24 14:41 DABase.py -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 11048 Dec 16 09:51 DABase.pyc -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 7005 Aug 10 10:14 DA.py -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4983 Dec 16 09:51 DA.pyc -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 9454 Nov 5 08:15 db.py -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 7499 Dec 16 09:51 db.pyc drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 16 09:51 DCOracle2 drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Dec 31 1969 DCOracleStorage drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 31 1969 doc drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 16 09:56 dtml drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 31 1969 icons -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4113 Aug 10 10:14 __init__.py -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 671 Dec 16 09:51 __init__.pyc -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 819 Aug 7 20:28 INSTALL -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 5011 Aug 8 05:15 install.py -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1598 Jul 24 2000 LICENSE.txt -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 885 Aug 27 12:12 Makefile -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1688 Aug 7 20:36 MANIFEST drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 31 1969 proof -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 4480 Mar 26 2001 README -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1892 Mar 26 2001 setup.py -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 7187 Oct 9 11:05 SP.py -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 5268 Dec 16 09:51 SP.pyc drwxr-xr-x 3 root root 4096 Dec 16 09:50 src drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 31 1969 test drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 4096 Dec 31 1969 tests Let me know if that helps. Import/Export objects
by dnielca＠netscape.net 20 Dec '01

Hello there. I've being looking around documention trying to figure out if is there a way to import/export Zope Export Files (.zexp) throught a linux shell command, outside a browser or the Zope Manage Interface. I've found that functions in the /lib/python/OFS/ObjectManage.py module are used to import/export objects but I still don't know if this functions can be called throught the Linux Shell. If anyone could help me!? Thank's, Nielca -- __________________________________________________________________ Your favorite stores, helpful shopping tools and great gift ideas. RE: [Zope] zpasswd.py access: STILL A PROBLEM
by Ben Ocean 20 Dec '01

20 Dec '01

Nope, doesn't work. Here's the problem, restated more clearly. I hope SOMEONE can answer this question... 1. I used zpasswd.py access with SHA encryption to create an emergency user and password. 2. Apparently, I must have mis-written the password in my notes. 3. I tried to write a new password to the emergency user using the zpasswd script. Everything seemed to work, but I still couldn't log on. 4. I wrote a completely new password using cleartext. It worked. 5. I want to GET RID OF the old emergency user and password and REPLACE THEM with new ones using SHA encryption. 6. I am unable to replace the username or password with ANY level of encryption. 7. The web interface doesn't allow me to change the emergency user (as far as I can see). 8. I am using Advanced Production Setup with ZEO http://www.zope.org/Members/dshaw/AdvancedSiteSetup and that appears to have run some sort of interference with zpasswd.py since I completely rebuilt Zope and the problem remains. 9. If I knew where the passwords were stored, could I simply erase the file and start afresh? 10. Any other options? TIA, BenO At 12:07 PM 12/20/01 +1100, you wrote: >It seems to me, having played a lot with it recently, that you stop and >start zope, it is then taken up in to the DB, and then you can remove any >others online. > >-----Original Message----- >From: Ben Ocean [mailto:zope@thewebsons.com] >Sent: Thursday, 20 December 2001 11:30 >To: zope(a)zope.org >Subject: [Zope] zpasswd.py access > > >Hi; >How do I delete or change a password once it's been entered into zope via >zpasswd.py access? Problems with win32/PythonService.exe
by Keith J. Farmer 20 Dec '01

20 Dec '01

I've historically had a nasty problem with my Zope service restarting when trying to execute a calculation-intensive routing I'd written as a Python extension in C++. I haven't (yet) been able to replicate it when running from a .bat file. Has anyone had experiences with PythonService.exe of this nature? Now, since life seems happy with the *.bat file, should I go ahead and use a service program to run it as a service instead of PythonService.exe? ---------- Keith J. Wish List: Rename and Edit Button
by complaw＠hal-pc.org 20 Dec '01

20 Dec '01

I don't know where to make such a wish list. Maybe some of you who are part of the devel group can pass on this suggestion. You know how there is an "Add and Edit" button when making a new object (such as a DTML Document or DTML Method)? Could one be added to the rename screen and called "Rename and Edit"? In many instances, when you rename an object it is because you have made a copy of another object and want to change something. Having a "Rename and Edit" button (in addition to the "Ok" button in the renaming screen, would save time and several keystrokes. Just a suggestion. Ron

memory leak problems
by Peter Bengtsson 20 Dec '01

20 Dec '01

I have a Python Script that looks like this: <id>latestphotos</id> <params></params> objects = [] for object in context.objectValues(['Folder','Photo']): if object.meta_type == 'Folder': objects = objects + object.latestphotos() else: objects.append(object) return objects This I run from a DTML Method like this: <dtml-in "_.sequence.sort(latestphotos(), (('bobobase_modification_time',),))" reverse size=4 orphan=0> XXX ... XXX </dtml-in> The script crawls through a folder structure which contains Photo's and subfolders. It returns a healthy list of about 400 Photo's (from the Photo product) which are all object referenses. It works like it's supposed to, but the server leaks like hell when I run this. From about 5-10% of the memory to up to 50-70%!! Having accidently triggered this script I have to restart the server. Any ideas anyone why? Other solutions?
