Hi, I'm trying to use the new 0.2.2 jcNtUserFolder, but I'm having difficulties. How do I specify an NT user that can access zope? If I go to the contents tab, and add a user: domain\username - without specifying anything other than the username (password, etc.), it seems to be added. However, I cannot them log in to the site with either domain\username or just username. I have setup the default NT domain as my domain. I can use version 0.0.8 just fine... Not sure what else to try. Here's some stuff I recently found out that helped me with ange-ftp in my .emacs file for zope (require 'ange-ftp) (ange-ftp-set-user HOST USER) (ange-ftp-set-password HOST USER PASSWORD) All the values are double quoted and if you are using your zope ftp server on the default port you need something like this: (ange-ftp-set-user "localhost 8021" "azbok") (ange-ftp-set-password "localhost 8021" "azbok" "mypass") Then when you C-x C-f /localhost 8021:/ It will auto log you in as USER and auto send PASSWORD azbok _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp.

The only way to do this is to turn pages into agents, and with proxy roles, this is possible if your pages are DTML, but not with ZPT. There is a way to do this; create custom roles bound to particular types of behaviors. For example, create a role called 'renderer'; bind the 'View' permission bound to standard_html_header, etc. Then use proxy roles to make it so that your page 'foo_html' has a proxy role of 'renderer' -- this effectively means that your page is 'an agent that has permission to access resource standard_html_header' or something like that. Displaying text from one document inside another?

Is it possible with DTML to display a portion of one document inside of another one? templates in instance and class?

Suppose you have a ZClass which holds a couple of methods, scripts and templates. It is an advantage to keep the templates inside the ZClass if you upgrade the product and don't have to change the instance. Likewise it is also an advantage to "take control" over the templates for translations and branding etc unique to that instance. How can this be combined? Ultimatly I would like to be able to (from inside the instance) choose from available templates, methods or scripts and take control over them. Then one could (almost like versioning) check if there is a new version of the ZClass template and in that case perhaps "download" that and do the modifications you need to do again. I see this not as a modification to how Zope and ZClasses work but as a feature to my ZClass. The only problem is how to keep two objects of the same id. One "baseobject" in the ZClass and one in the instance. Following is a hack that could do; but it is a hack. -- in ZClass method template called 'index_html' (pseudo code) -- if hasattr(context,'index_html_instance'): return context.index_html_instance() else: return context.index_html_base() Any ideas or smart solutions to this?

Zope and vim 6.0: netrw, explorer etc.

I'm trying to set up an environment where I can comfortably edit my Zope sites using vim (6.0). I know about ftpExplorer, and it works, but it feels like a hack: It doesn't use the netrw.vim code, but uses its own Python code to read/write from the ftp server, and what's more important, you have to change ftpExplorer.py whenever you'd like to connect to another host. OTOH, the netrw.vim code in vim 6.0 looks quite strange: It has some limitations (e.g. regarding port numbers) and room for enhancements (webdav support). Furthermore, as a replacement for ftpExplorer, I would need some code to browse ftp (http/scp) sites. Is somebody else working on these things ? It looks like a nice project; I'm lacking the vim programming skills, but if nobody else is working on it, I might be forced to go on and try. OTOH, maybe it would really make sense to enhance explorer.vim to some kind of protocoll-independent browser for hierarchies of files. Gregor

Oh. I'm sorry I wasn't very clear. I currently have apache/mod_rewrite in front of zope/zeo. Thus, to lessen clutter on httpd.conf, I want to put all rewrites in a file and call it from there. My main problem comes when VirtualHostMonster is involved. rewritemap doesn't seem to work properly. If someone has implemented this, PLEASE help me.
