I added a script object and directly pinched the code that Jason sent: import DateTime return DateTime.DateTime().millis() and it seems to be working. It is strange that it does though. I see in the help (Control_Panel/Products/PythonScripts/Help/ModuleAccess.stx) that "string, math, and random" are availible for import, but "The only way to make other Python modules available for import is to add security declarations to them in the filesystem". Not sure if they intended this to mean the whole list or just a subset. On p. 153 of the Zope Book, it outlines the fairly tight restrictions on what you can import into Python from inside Zope and the time stuff is not listed. Accessing DOM nodes from python: how?

I'm sorry if I already post this message but I'm not sure what my mailer is doing. If this is a repost, I'm sorry. I saw a javascript accessing a value put in a html tag like this: <TD ID= "blah"> Td contents </TD> or something similar. Javavascript could read that "blah" Now, how can I do the same from python? SUCCESS!!!!!!!!!!!! I have a space at the end of my file names!!...the process of figuring it out is below (and other useful emacs stuff) Thanks Jason Earl and Peter Sabaini, but unfortunately for me removing the slahes it still doesn't work. I'm pretty sure both regex's are equivalent (I may be wrong but I have studied regex's) Ok I looked in the buffer that emacs creates when ftp'ing * *ftp azbok@localhost 8021* 4037 Internal Ange-ftp In there there's an ftp command that emacs sends out which for me is: 150 Opening Binary mode data connection for file '/Control_Panel/Products/TableWidget/TableWidget/propertysheets/methods/index_html ' SO, I happened to notice the quotes surrounding the file name. Zope sticks a space at the end of the filename for some reason. I did click on rename in the management interface and there is no space. WHY IS THERE A SPACE??? My new emacs lisp is like so: (setq auto-mode-alist (cons '("_py ?$" . python-mode) auto-mode-alist)) The ? after the space makes it optional. This way it works either way. I included this for the html and sql files also. HORRAY! -------- More emacs stuff. I was searching about for html modes and found html-helper-mode. Uploading lots of little files to zope

I now have lots of little files -- thousands -- to upload to Zope every time I do an update of a book. FTP-ing is quite painful. Is there some better solution; is there a way to upload a zip file and then expand it? Or is that something I must write an external method to do? Thanks... Content Management Design Patterns

Does anyone have a recommendation for "best practices" for implementing complicated Web patterns like Session Tracking, Member Profile management (how to store the back-end data), Multi-cookie storage/retrieval, and "shopping cart" paradigms? I know that Zope (and specifically CMF) provides for these applications, but I'd like a resource on the core concepts & principles. I'm aware that New Riders is publishing another Zope book entitled "Zope: Web Application Development and Content Management", and could this be exactly what I'm looking for? Steve Spicklemire, would you mind whetting our appetites? Thanks in advance, Eron
