question on setting PropertySheet value from External Method

Hi, I'm having trouble setting a property of a ZClass propertysheet from an external method. I can successfully create an instance of the ZClass and from a DTML document set the properties, but I can't seem to get the syntax right for doing it from the external method. Could someone give me some advice? Here are the relevant lines from my external method that successfully creates the ZClass instance: recordID = "7893" t = "A new title" self.resources.manage_addProduct['agnicCatalog'].resourceClass.createInObjectManager(recordID, self.REQUEST) I have a folder called 'resources' that I want to hold all instances of the class 'resourceClass'. The above line works fine to create the instance. But, when I try to change the Title property with: self.resources[recordID].propertysheets['Basic'].manage_changeProperties(Title = t) I get TypeError -- sequence index must be integer I've tried a bunch of variations with recordID, but nothing seems to work. Can someone set me straight? WebDAV and ObjectManager

Is there a way to override an ObjectManager derived class as to not even show up (or, at the very least, not output its contents) in a WebDAV or FTP session? I have a BTreeFolder-derived object with 300,000+ objects; I don't even want to think what might happen if someone tried to open this via WebDAV... emergency user

Hi, I am running Zope on Windows 95. If zpasswd.py is invoked with just the name of the file to modify (i.e access), it will prompt you for a user name and password and the way the password should be encrypted. However, I was unable to actually log into my site when I created the emergency user that way. However, if I invoked zpasswd.py and passed username and password on the command line (along with the file to modify), I was actually able to get in. Thought I would pass this along in case any one else ran into a similar problem. Shilpa

Hello, I installed zope under linux.now i want to configure apache to zope.for that i edit the httpd.conf file RewriteEngine on RewriteCond %{HTTP:Authorization} ^(.*) RewriteRule ^/Zope(.*) /home/httpd/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi$1 [e=HTTP_CGI_AUTHORIZATION:%1,t=application/x-httpd-cgi,l] then i started zope and apache i tried to access zope as "http://localhost/Zope" i am getting resourse not found.what was the problem can you tell me. Viewing objects in sub-folders

Hi all, I am new to Zope. I have been working with it for my company and getting a web site together. So far I'm liking it more than I thought. I have started getting into using dtml and have hit a wall. Let me describe. I have a folder that has 3 sub folders. I created 3 zclasses/products. Users add new objects into these 3 folders, the objects being one of the 3 products created. Now I have a dtml method that will list the objects in the folder with the properties that were set. I can go to any of the 3 folders and view the dtml method to see the objects there. But what I need is this. I have an index_html in the main folder containing these 3 folders. This index_html needs to use the dtml method for displaying from each folder. So on the index_html the objects and properties from all 3 sub folders would be displayed in a columnar format. What do I use/do on the index_html to use or display the objects in a sub-folder? Make sense? I hope so. I would appreciate any help or guidance to get going on this. calling ZPublisher from python

I'd like to write a python function that returns the value of a Zope object whose URL is given as the function argument. Something like: import Zope, ZPublisher def f(URL): return ZPublisher.Zope(URL) But this doesn't work (in an external method). Can anybody help me? Thanks, Benjamin.

Errro instantiating new Zclasses

I am a zope newbie, and I'm having trouble instanting a Zclass. The Zclass is named "test3b", and it is the example out of the zopebook. Page Templates and dtml

Which of these are easier to use? I have the following in a template: <html metal:define-macro="master"> <head> <title tal:content="template/title">The title</title> <link rel="stylesheet" href="/NewPCT/css/default.css" type="text/css"> </head> <body> <img src="&dtml-var BASE2;/images/logo" width="420" height="60" align="right" alt="Logo"> <div metal:define-slot="main"> The contents </div> </body> </html> What I want is img src="/directory/images/logo" where the /directory part may change or become blank It work when the document is a dtml document, but how do you get it to work using a page template. I have looked at the Automatic navigation example, but am not sure how to get it to work with my template. The automatic navigation would also have to exclude some directories - e.g. style, images

HELP!!! Siteroot

Hi, I have been locked out of my Zope instance while trying to use siteroot.I added a siteroot in a folder which is immediately under the root.Now I am not able to access that port.It says "Resource not found" I can guess the prob is with my PATH specified.It's pointing to a non existent path....But I am not able to go back and change it. Somebody Please help . I simply CANNOT afford to lose the content on this port.can somebody help me atleast retrieve the content on this port? PythonWin and Zope

ImportError: DLL load failed: One of the library files needed to run this application cannot be found. How could I fix this problem - does anyone have experience with ActivePython and Zope? I am running Windows 98 Second Edition, with ActivePython installed in C:\Python22 If it is not compatible with ActivePython 2.2, then would downloading ActivePython 2.1.1 work? Anyone used ActivePython? I use ActivePython as it makes it easier to use in Windows.
