cannot import html_quote?

I am getting broken products from the Zope website that seem to be breaking because they cannot import html_quote. Check out: http://www.zope.org/Members/andym/ZSyncer Haven't used it, but it looks to be the best option for a 'staging' content production model. Works via XML-RPC, and I would do this over HTTPS/SSL because of plain-text passwords, but that's because I am paranoid about plain-text passwords for management access; I'm not sure what Imeme provides in the SSL regard, but I'm guessing that they can likely answer that question for you. But there doesn't seem to be an easy way to do this (well, you wouldn't *want* it to be too easy). My present procedure is pretty complicated -- I do an export locally, and then an import at the ISP. But I also have to export parts of the ISP version in order to incorporate them. I seem to be getting away with this now, but our site is going to become a lot more dynamic in the future. How can I make this easier? * Can I do a "clobber" type of import, like I could do with an FTP site, for example -- just replace the files I upload, but leave others intact? * Could I do a date-based export (i.e. export the objects that have changed since the previous upload, and overload that after I do my main import?) * Is there an "officially sanctioned zope method" for merging content from the local site into the new site? * Can I do something like this with ZEO? I know it's set up to do it automatically, but I want to do it only on demand, when I'm ready to commit my changes. * Can I write something in Zope/python to make it easier? (Well, obviously the answer is 'yes', but I'm looking for hints here :) ). * Could I somehow do this with CVS? I get the impression that Zope's change-control system is supposed to replace CVS, not work with it, but I'm very new at this. * I just saw something in the documentation about "sessions" which seems similar in concept, but I don't know if it's appropriate. zope 'hangs' - queries only

Hi all, As i experienced some problems with sql-queries apparently stopping the system i tried to isolate the problem a little, which i want to describe here. We use Zope 2.4.0 (binary release, python 2.1, linux2-x86), python 2.1.0, linux2 We use Interbase together with the gvib database adapter (My first idea was that maybe the database adapter is the culprit, but i'm not really sure about this, as there were some postings about zope installations were one long-running thread could stop all the others.) I created now a test function wich just sleeps for 30 seconds. While this is running i can still work with zope in another session, but only if pages are displayed which don't contain sql-queries! All queries seem to wait until the sleep-job has ended! This seems very strange to me. Is this a problem of the DA? Or is it a problem of zope's threading mechanism? Please give me feedback. I was able to get consistent Zope failures on Solaris w/ DCOracle2 by disconnecting and reconnecting the connection in the Product management interface. If I run the server without the zdaemon, it prints that there was an interrupted system call on a "select()". Dario, this is Zope 2.4.3 running with Python 2.1.1 on a Solaris 2.8 server, with Oracle 8.1.7 and the latest recently released DCOracle2 driver. This is the first I've heard about Python 2.1 and Solaris not getting along. Is 2.2 any better?

sendmail and dtml-in

In a sendmail method, I use this strings to generate the TO:-adresses from a selectable list: to: <dtml-in adresse> <dtml-var sequence-item>, </dtml-in> When I select 2 recipients, it works. unauthorize !!!

Hi, I am protecting a folder \test using a login manager with TinyTable. The TinyTable contained the user info and was created inside the UserSource of the acl_folder of the Login Manager together with the userAuthenticate, userExists, userRoles and userDomains python scripts. The main problem now is that each time I open a new browser to access the content of the test folder and I got unauthorize error when I used one of the user info store in the TinyTable. But got successful when I used acl_user at the root folder. Regards. -kamal

Runing Zope-2.4.1 on OpenBSD 2.8, "mysite:8080/manage" won't load.

I have gotten Zope-2.4.1 installed onto my ISP's OpenBSD system, after initially being tripped up by OpenBSD's BSD version of TAR, which does not like the @LongLink feature of GNU Tar, thus Zope filenames were truncated. Now that it's up and running, I can access mysite:8080, which gives me the QuickStart page, but when I try to go to the /manage page, it gets as far as showing three frames, and then either loads part of the top one where the Zope logo is, or even sometimes part of the left one (where the contents tree pane is), but never the largest one on the bottom right hand side, which should contain the view of the current page. I have found by killing and restarting ZOpe repeatedly (sometimes up to a dozen times), I can get the mysite:8080/manage page to open ONCE, but after a few clicks, it freezes up again. Anyone got any ideas? Help! Warren Postma

String .lower, .upper, and .title in a Python Script

Okay, here is a strange bit of behavior in a Zope (and python for that matter, as I'm working with a python script. In the string module, there is: .lower(), .upper(), .capitalize(), and .title(). In a python script... myStr = string.lower(myStr) # Works! myStr = string.upper(myStr) # Works! myStr = string.capitalize(myStr) # Works! myStr = string.title(myStr) # DOES NOT WORK! If you look up .title() in the python manual (its on page 8 of the Library Reference Manual), it has .title() as one of the string functions (presumably in the string module). Unfortunately, if I run .title() in my stript, I get an AttributeError for "title". Not so with the others. Am I missing something? TIA, Ron

Zope dtml-sqltest and MS Access data types

Hi. This probably has a simple answer. If I set up an field in a MS Access 2000 table with a data type of Long Integer, and then try to write to it using a ZSQL method and the DTML "dtml-sqltest" tag with type set to "int" or "float" I get an ODBC error. The Zope Book lists the possible data types available for sqltest as: int, string, float, and nb The only thing i've found to work is setting type to "string" Are the other MS Access data types, like long integer, memo, data/time, currency, etc supported by the the dtml-sqltest tag?
