[Q] problem installing page templates ...

I've stared at the following for the past two hours but can't figure out my problem in getting PageTemplates up and running ... I did the following: - fresh install of Zope 2.4.3 (win binary release) - successfully installed TAL 1.4.1 and ZTUtils 1.1.3 - extracted PageTemplates-1.4.1.tar.gz into my lib/python/Products but am getting the traceback: 2001-12-09T03:47:40 ERROR(200) Zope Couldn't install PageTemplates Traceback (innermost last): File C:\Zope\TestBed\lib\python\OFS\Application.py, line 668, in install_product (Object: Zope) (Info: PageTemplates) File C:\Zope\TestBed\lib\python\Products\PageTemplates\__init__.py, line 95, in initialize File C:\Zope\TestBed\lib\python\Products\PageTemplates\ZopePageTemplate.py, line 105, in ? Using Zope with Amaya HELP

Hi, I am following the example Using Zope with Amaya, Dreamweaver, and Other WYSIWYG Tools http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Articles/ZPT3 All seems to be working, until I get to edit the WYSIWYG index_html in Amaya. Here is what I've done: 1) Created the mock up file in the Amaya editor 2) created the index_html file in zope 3) saved the mockup file in http://192.168.0.2:8080/FileLib/index_html/source.html 4) added the python script and altered the ZPT as discussed in the how-to ALL works well till this point, but now, I want to enhance the index_html page and make it look better ;^) I made a simple change, but everytime I try to save the file I get the following error: Save As Document Location http://192.168.0.2:8080/FileLib/index_html/source.html Confirm Saving to http://192.168.0.2:8080/FileLib/index_html/source.html seems corrupted, ignore? If I ignore the error, it works and if I cancel the action the file still gets saved and the changes take place. My questions are, this error is it to do with Amaya? I presume it must be! Also how do you call the source.html file from Dreamweaver? Dreamweaver can see index_html but I don't seem to be able to figure how to use it without going Zope -> Amaya -> Dreamweaver -> Amaya ->Zope route? Through-the-Web Interface

Hi; I'd like to build a through-the-web interface that allows clients to develop new pages on-the-fly that would be automagically added to their drop-down navigation, expire on a date specified by the client, etc. Has anyone done this? How do I begin? Got some code to share :)) TIA, BenO

DOM and Zope

This code works fine in the python (2.1.1) interpreter: from xml.dom import minidom myDoc = minidom.Document() myEl = myDoc.createElement('jeppe') myEl2 = myDoc.createElement('henning') myDoc.appendChild(myEl) myDoc.insertBefore(myEl2, myEl) print myEl2.parentNode print myEl2.nextSibling However, when I put this code in a Zope (2.4.2) product, and run it, I get an error on the last line: Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: nextSibling with trace ending in: File /usr/lib/zope/lib/python/xml/dom/minidom.py, line 74, in __getattr__ AttributeError: (see above) So for some reason, the node myEl2 is not correctly inserted in the DOM. It knows its parent, but not who is it's sibling. In fact, if nextSibling were None, there wouldn't be an error, but now it doesn't even know it has an attribute with this name. I think then you can make some content management forms and your client wont see HTML/DTML tags. He will just type the matter in the forms and it will be there on the website. besides you dont even have to upload any files separately. I have almost finished creating such forms for my company. security audit

I am trying to make a security DTML script so that when I am logged in as a manager, I can see what Roles have 'Access contents information' and 'View' permissions to the various directories and files that I am working on instead of bringing up the security screen all the time. The problem I have is with acquired permissions, they do not show up using my method, so only if the Role is explicitly set on the object will this work. FYI: ZC At IPC10

Hello everybody. We at ZC would like to share with you info on our plans for attending IPC10. The good news is that business is going well for us, leaving us pretty booked. Unfortunately this means that we can't spare the majority of the company to attend the Zope Track at IPC10 in February. The other good news, though, is that we're committed to sending some senior people, including Tres, Jim, and me. As available, we'll send a few others. We'd still like to see everyone and give you a chance to put some faces to names. As such, we're considering having a Zope open house here in Fredericksburg, either on Thursday or Friday after the conference. Hi Tim, First of all, questions related to Zope problems are best asked on the Zope mailinglist; the webmaster(a)zope.org address is primarily meant for issues on Zope.org only. That said, I can confirm that we have seen problems with IE 5.0 and Zope, but only when it comes to passing on Authtication information. However, it may well be that IE 5.0 has got other problems as well. Either way, the default index_html page on a freshly installed Zope warns against using IE 5.0.
