using mysql LOAD command to store values into table from zope mgt screen (is it realistics?)

Hi, I have my zope server and mysql server at the remote site. I can logged in to my zope server from my local computer but yet to be able to log into mysql server. I have already created a table into database inside mysql server at the remote site through the Mysql database adapter (MySQLDA) created inside the zope server. I didn't want to use INSERT COMMAND to store values into this table (for obvious reasons) so i would have preferred LOAD command. I have already tried these ffg. from the MySQL Database Connection management screen but all failed.. LOAD DATA FROM "C:\text.txt" INTO TABLE test error :ProgrammingError Error Value: (1064, 'You have an error in your SQL syntax near \'from "c:\\text.txt" into table test\' at line 1') LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE "text.txt" INTO TABLE test LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE "c:\text.txt" INTO TABLE test error:The proxy server received an invalid response from an upstream server. The proxy server could not handle the request POST /jambng_db/manage_test. Reason: Document contains no data Please assist. regards. kamal

Version Lock Confusion

I have created a Version on my Zope site. I am not working in it at the moment. I try to delete a DTML document that has never been opened or modified in the version, but Zope won't let me delete the document. I get an error that looks like this: Error Type: VersionLockError Error Value: ("'\\000\\000\\000\\000\\000\\000\\026\\003'", followed by the name of my new version object. I can edit files just fine but I can't delete them. From what I read in the docs, this shouldn't be the case. Remote User Mode, NT Authentication with IIS and Zope

Hello, I have been to get jcNTuserfolder to work for several days now. I am fairly new both to Zope and to NT but this is the best solution to our organization's needs right now. I have been following the directions but I seem to be missing some steps. I have gone through: How-To: HOWTO use Zope and IIS together in remote user mode Which included going through: How-To: HOWTO use Zope and IIS together in remote user mode This first question might solve the problem: how do I put Zope in remote user mode on Win2000 running as a service? I am on Win2000, IIS 5, latest stable release of Zope, and the latest jcNTuserfolder. After installing the product and adding the jcNTuserfolder, the only users that are listed in the user folder are the local domain users. I have disabled anonymous access but I can't yet grant access to local users at this point, not to mention users from other domains. I realize this is fairly vague, but I an not yet sure which questions to ask. I have checked the FAQs, newsgroups, the web, etc. Any tips to some clear directions would be greatly appreciated. More product writing problems

Hello, I want to write my own instance of FOlder product maintaining a set of keywords. This worked so far but I want to strip some spaces from the keywords the user might have prepended/appended. I wanted to use the following code: ob=MyFolder() ob.id=str(id) ob.title=title ob.keywords={} for kw in keywords: kw=kw.strip() if kw != '' : ob.keywords.append(kw) self._setObject(id, ob) ob=self._getOb(id) Well, obviousely this is intended to work under python2.1. Because of a broken Zope 2.4.2 installation which does not show up my product in the products folder mysteriousely (see thread "Problems writing a new product") I use Zope 2.3.3 (Debian/GNU Linux Woody zope_2.3.3-1) which depends from Python 1.5 - at least under my system. If I link /usr/bin/python to /usr/bin/python2.1 zope does not start because of some modules (namely 'os') are not found. So how can I write this code safe even for older Python versions or does anybody has an idea how to fix the broken Zope installation? What other logfiles could I observe. I did not found any others than Z2.log. Kind regards Andreas.

That was it! Problem solved. Incidentally, are you allowed to make classes in python scripts and return those classes from method? For example, in an error condition, I want to create an instance of a class that is defined within the python script. However, I get an error message when the script encounters that error condition. I suspect that this is a security issue (because the "anonymous" user would be creating an object, although one that is not persistent in the ZODB). Is there a way around the problem, or will I just have to return a list on the fly as done in my earlier code? Editing dtml content for non-techies

This may be a version problem, or it may not. I wrote a fairly straightforward Zope application in Zope 2-3-1 on Linux. (That instance of Zope has been working just fine for months and hey, it wasn't broke so I didn't fix it. The Linux box has been up for 132 days and I like the fact that I only have to fuss with Zope, if anything at all.) I created a simple product and associated folder (with a slew of Folders, DTML Documents, python scripts, and DTML Methods. Then I exported them and shipped both the product and the site off to a client who had downloaded and installed Zope 2-3-4 for Windows. The client got into the Zope management screen (after a little hand-holding, but he didn't read any documentation, so I can't complain). I talked him through the processes of unzip/untar the product, and loading the particular site. Now the client can pull up a browser and accurately read index_html of the main folder. However, when he tries to read any of the DTML Documents, Folders, etc. he gets: Zope Error Error Type: NameError Error Value: global name 'namespace' is not defined Is this problem between different versions of Zope? namespace is pretty fundamental. I don't see how it could have worked fine under 2-3-1 and not under 2-4-3. Thanks in advance for any help. Ron

add/delete acl_user in dtml

I found a how-to which indicates I can add a user using: <dtml-let name="'Your_Name'" password="'Your_Password'" roles="'Owner'" domains="''" > <dtml-var "py_addUser(_.None,acl_users,name,password,roles,domains)"> </dtml-let> However, when I try this, I get: Error Type: NameError Error Value: py_addUser Any help would be much obliged. Class definition problem in a Python Script

I'm using a method to look up an object within a folder and returning that object. In some cases, however, the object isn't found. In all cases, I want to return an object as I do some checking to ensure that the object was indeed found. Unfortunately, my mechanism for doing so is giving me a "SyntaxError, Names starting with "_" are not allowed (__doc__)." Here is the code... def get_object_by_element_number(objList, given_element_number): class MyErrorClass: "Dummy class so something is returned (with an error indicator)" element_number = -1 found = 0 for obj in objList: if given_element_number = obj.element_number: found = 1 return obj if found == 0: error_obj = MyErrorClass return error_obj ------- Does anyone know what the problem is? I looked at bindings on the 2-3-1 site. The namespace binding value was blank (although '_' was recommended). Could that be the problem? Should it be '_' under 2-4-x?
