Again: searching booleans
by Pablo Ziliani 05 Dec '01

Please, let me know if i'm not being clear ... or something. Dear all, Even though it seems so basic, I could't find a single reference to this problem. I'm trying to list some objects of a given meta_type based on some booleans they *might* have. For example: <dtml-in "Catalog.searchResults({'meta_type':'whatever','published':'1'})"> While a missing boolean property (always?) means "off", there's often arbitrary values when in "on" state, mainly depending on how the input was set in the form. So the question is: how should the query be set to bring only those items that DO have a certain property? Thanx, Pablo

"Chris McDonough" <chrism(a)zope.com> writes: > The delete method is part of the interface, AFAICT, isn't it? Or is > that not what you mean? The "Core Session Tracking Release 0.9 Documentation" doesn't mention 'delete' at all. "Modifying A Session Data Object" does handle set(), get() and has_key(), but no way to delete anything. The sentence "A session data object has essentially the same restrictions as a Python dictionary." gives an idea what's going on but can't qualify as an exact interface description. And it's about restricions, not about the possibilities :) Regards, Frank -- CTO fte(a)Lightwerk.com http://www.Lightwerk.com/ Fax: +49-2434-80 07 94 Phone: +49-2434-80 07 81 Lightwerk GmbH * An der Kull 11 * 41844 Wegberg * Germany

Hi All: How can I use one input field to search both PrincipiaSearchSource and title? I'm only doing PrincipiaSearchSource and would like to add title. RE: [Zope] Python script/security help

Evan, that document told me everything I needed to know. Thank you for pointing it out. My problem was that my Property class did not inherit from Acquisition.Implicit, thus rendering the security infrastructure unusable. Thanks again! In order for security assertions to be correctly applied to your class, you must call the global class initializer for all classes that have security information." Hopefully this will solve your problem. Cheers, Evan @ Zope

CoreSessions object deletion
by Frank Tegtmeyer 05 Dec '01

05 Dec '01

A short question: is it safe to use session.delete(key)? I saw it somewhere and because the interface doesn't include any description for deletion of objects in the container it may be the standard way. Are there any problems to expect if another Datamanager implementation (besides the RAM based one) is used? Unsubscriptable object zope 2.5b1 and recent cvs cmf
by James Johnson 05 Dec '01

RDFSummary product object. I'm just wondered off hand if it could be with zope 2.5b1 or RDFSummary 2.0. It looks to me from the source that they changed this line self.channel = GlobalPersistentMapping(channel) to something like, self.channel = channel I found this bit of info on it. I'm not sure of the resolution. Thank, -James > What kind of object is "channel"? > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "James Johnson" <tacomabbs(a)hotmail.com> > To: <zope(a)zope.org> > Sent: Wednesday, December 05, 2001 3:42 AM > Subject: [Zope] Unsubscriptable object zope 2.5b1 and recent cvs cmf > > > > Hi, > > I'm using, > > win98se > > RDFSummary 2.0 > > Zope 2.5b1 binary release > > cmf cvs version from > 1 week ago. > >

RE: [Zope] Manipulating Dates in Zope

There is also a tedious, but workable solution for Python APIs that need to use DateTime both in and out of Zope; use hasattr(myDateTimeObject, 'tuple') to determine if the date time object you are using has a method called tuple(), which can be used to determine if you are using mxDateTime instead of Zope's... And you write code to support both modules... I had to do this with some library modules I am using in a project for relational data access in both Python-based automation utilities and Zope; this approach seems to work ok... Of course, this makes you subject to the limitations of Zope's DateTime, but I think that other than API incompatibility, that isn't as bad as it seems. Hi I've been on vacation therefore I'm a little late in reading your commens. Sorry. #P. Horbal: I've recompiled Python 2.1.1 on my Solaris 2.7/8 with the --with-threads. No change. Solaris still hangs. Please verify: You're using Solaris 2.7/8 and parallel threads really work?! #D. Maurer: I've read your answer with the different thread policies. That's the exact description of what is happening! The thing is, that that would mean that Solaris only supports serial threading (i.e. one thread). If I hadn't seen it I wouldn't have believed it! What component is responsible for such behaviour? What can we do aout it? Oliver Erlewein -- GMX - Die Kommunikationsplattform im Internet. http://www.gmx.net
