question on ZClasses

Hi All. I'm building a project tracking/document management tool with Zope. Each of these projects is a ZClass containing a fixed hierarchy, with each level having its own properties and capability to attach files. The sub-levels are also stored as ZClasses. My question is: if I add a ZClass in the methods view of a ZClass, how can I see that in any instances of the class? It doesn't seem to work. My current workaround is to use a dtml method to create this hierarchy. The dtml method is called from the ZClass's add method. The problem with this is: if the hierarchy changes I need to write a custom script to walk the entire hierarchy and add/delete items. roles cannot be deleted in Mozilla

In ZMI when using Mozilla 0.9.6, user-defined roles are shown as empty squares at the bottom of the roles management page. User defined roles can be deleted "blindly" - if you remember the order in which they were created. This is probably caused by an extra slash that appears in option: <option value="myrole" /> ZMI works fine with MSIE 5.5 -- Milos Prudek

WebDav Bug?

Hi, Who do I report a webdav bug to?? Just in case you might want to know: PROBLEM: When connecting to Zope running on Redhat Linux 7.1 using any version of windows, the windows explorer creates a ghost folder of the parent folder in the current directory. This folder looks like a regular folder, but clicking on it causes an error. It always happens even on 2.4.3 of Zope. Is there a fix for this? Thanks, Luis.

DTML Doc and Python scripts and aq_parent

Hello all, I'm trying to wrap my head around acquisition once again. Each time I think I get it, another curve ball gets me. If anyone has any pointers I would appreciate it. I have the following structure: Root + FolderA + Folder A1 DTML_Doc w "Really Nifty Title" + CommonStuff + PythonScript inside of DTML_Doc, there are several lines of code that look something like this: <dtml-with CommonStuff> <dtml-var PythonScript> </dtml-with> In the python script I have the following print context.title # Prints 'PythonScript' print context.aq_parent.title # Prints 'CommonStuff' print context.aq_parent.aq_parent.title # Prints Folder A1 ???Huh??? I think I understand the reason you get FolderA1s title attribute because it is the container of DTML_Doc and thus is the aq_parent of CommonStuff in the namespace. But, then how does one pull attributes such as the title from the caller which in this case is a DTML_Doc? How does one get a handle on the object that called a script? hello, in my webpage,i want user to download a zip file. this is the code <a href="folder1/<dtml-var e_name>"><dtml-var iname> </a> variable e_name contains the zip file with a id and a title. now when i click on iname it opens the download dialogue box. i say save to disk. now id of the variable e_name becomes the default file name(in the save as box). can i make the title of e_name as a default name (in the save as box)?? how ?? unauthorized error with Login Manager authetication(please I need help)

Hello Mike, I have to send you this mail because I got to know through your mail to the zope archive that you had one time solved my present problem. I have been on this problem for the past fews weeks without any solution. Please don't feel offended it's just that i despirately need help. I was manage to install LoginManager 0.8.8b with ZPatterns on my zope server but with this warning ;- Problem (100) init Ambigous name for method of Products.LoginManager.LoginMethods.BasicCookiesLogin: "manager_propertiesFor m" !="manager_main". I tried to strictly follow some write up on how to use it with TinyTable Plus and Mysql database but always faced with unauthorized error below. random alphanumeric generator

Does this exist in python or has anyone worked on an random alphanumeric generator? Generate random 10 character string consisting of 0-9, a-z, or A-Z. I guess I could make a tuple of the characters and concatenate 10 random choices. But I am worried about overhead to execute 100+/minute while running other processes. suggestions requested. structured-text perfomance problem

Hi! I try to render a lot of HTML-text using: <dtml-in "getHTML()"> <dtml-var sequence-item> </dtml> where sequence-item is single paragraph of HTML. If i do this, the text isn't displayed correctly.
