XML-RPC over HTTPS size limit

Hello, I'm not sure which mailing list this topic is more suitable in, so I'm sending it to the general list. We found a problem while using M2crypto 0.06 with Zope-2.4.2. We're calling a Zope extrenal method on another matchine (same configuration) through XML-RPC and we noticed that once the content-lenght of the HTTP request gets larger than 4096 bytes the calling function hangs (Zope hangs; the server Zope still works fine). How can my Zope site be accessed outside

Hi, I set up the zope on my machine where my IIS server works. When I created the new homepage on zope(http://www.nautilus.org:8080/) and changed the security property that this page can be viewed anonymous, I can only view this page inside my work place but cannot view it from outside place such as at home. I know our IIS server use port 8000. So can any one help me to figure out this problem? Many thanks..... Passing a string to a dtml method

I do have a question about the anti-spam solution, though. Here's the solution. As a follow up to the previous message, on the page: http://www.turnstep.com/Spambot/cgi.html#nomailto I found this: A far better way is to use a POST method. Spambots cannot follow a POST. If they did, they would have to parse apart every FORM tag and also try to set any INPUT tags as well. We're approaching artificial intelligence at this point, so this method is pretty safe. Some example HTML code for a POST method: <FORM METHOD="POST" ACTION="/cgi-bin/Nomailto.pl"> <INPUT TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="spambot" VALUE="greg"> <INPUT TYPE="HIDDEN" NAME="beware" VALUE="turnstep.com"> <INPUT TYPE="SUBMIT" VALUE="Send me email!"> </FORM> Note that this will work with non-graphical broswers as well. Fooling around, I came up with this external method, which seems to work perfectly: def rewrite(self): return self.REQUEST.RESPONSE.redirect('mailto:Bob@Whoopee.com?Subject=A test of unspam') It seems to do the right thing: pop up email on my machine. And you just put a URL on your page, no javascript needed. I mean, is this cool or what? The question is, would a spider -- which is visiting every url -- know what to do with what comes back from this particular URL? Hmm. I wonder if I can pass the subject string in to the external method somehow. AUTHENTICATED_USER reverts back to Anonymous User

Hi there, This is what happens 1) User enters site (REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER == "Anonymous User") 2) User logs in when accesing a "secure" page. (REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER == "myUser") 3) User goes to page that is available for Anonymous Users but which is rendered differently for logged in users. Page must now render as if user is logged in, but does not because REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER == "Anonymous User" again?? After doing some reading it seems as if this is a problem with the way HTML authentication works (Zope does not receive a browser authentication challenge or something like that). Is there a way around this other than using cookies or url mangling? Thanks Etienne
