FreeBSD compile error 2.4.x to 2.4.3

dtml-in for another folder
by Gabriel Genellina 30 Nov '01

30 Nov '01

Hi This is a very basic question. I have FolderA inside the root folder, and an DTML Method in FolderA: <dtml-var standard_html_header> <ul> <dtml-in objectValues> <li><dtml-var title_or_id></li> </dtml-in> </ul> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> It generates a list of all objects in the folder, ok. Then, I have a FolderB inside FolderA. When I try to do the same thing on that folder (referencing FolderB from FolderA): <dtml-in FolderB/objectValues> that generates a KeyError. The same thing when I try to use a full path: <dtml-in /FolderA/objectValues> I'm sure I've missed something - I thought that I could call any method of any object just by referencing it, but I see that this is not the right way. Thanks, Gabriel Genellina Softlab SRL

Eudora is scrambling my e-mails
by Vid Bijelic 29 Nov '01

29 Nov '01

Hi, When Eudora users receive e-mails sent using Zope MailHost product, they got it all wrong. If I send HTML formatted text they got it as a plain text, if I attach PDF file they got it as a bunch of gibberish. I tried different type of encoding and nothing helped. When I try other e-mail clients, everything is fine. Vid __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Hi, I don't understand the useage of the word in this exp <dtml-var sql_delimiter>. It was used in the doc created by dlpierson on; using LoginManager with SQL and Skinscript. (http://www.zope.org/Members/dlpierson/sqlLogin) Right now I am having an error message with the SQL_add_user method define in this doc. SQL used: > Could not render the query template! MySQL-python build error
by Raymond Norton 29 Nov '01

29 Nov '01

I am new to Zope and Linux, so I am not sure what to do about this error. >python setup.py build Traceback (innermost last): File "setup.py", line 6, in ? from distutils.core import setup ImportError: No module named distutils.core My Zope book also said I would have to edit setup.py to be sure the paths to the include and library directories in MySQL installation were correct. I did not see anything that referenced the paths above the line that said "Do not change anything below this line" In case it helps I have the following: RedHat 7.1 mysql 3.23.36 Database adapter ZMySQL-2.0.8 Database driver MySQL-python-0.9.0 Thanks in advance Raymond

ZServer -> Apache/mod_proxy -> mod_gzip: Possible???
by Paul Horbal 29 Nov '01

29 Nov '01

Hi everyone, I've searched high and low but I can't find any documentation for setting up mod_gzip to work with a Zope server (ZServer) being served through Apache's mod_proxy with the ProxyPass directives. Is this possible at the moment? Is there maybe a Zope product that handles gzipping served pages? This seems like a really good idea... I have mod_gzip working with Apache - other VirtualHosts on the same machine that aren't proxied serve gzipped pages - but apparently mod_proxy and mod_gzip don't like to play in the same sandbox. Other people have reported success using mod_rewrite instead... Is there some sort of performance hit you sustain in this case? If not, how do you set that up? =) thanks, Paul. -- Paul Horbal - ATIPS Web Manager horbal(a)atips.ca

Re: Question about Ram Cache
by Chris Kratz 29 Nov '01

29 Nov '01

At the risk of answering my own question and for future reference. Found out the problem wasn't the ram cache after all. We had been using different style sheets depending on the browser you view each page with. Unfortunately, I had forgotten this fact. The header checks the string and then embeds the call to the appropriate style sheet in the page as it's generated. Of course, whomever got there first loaded the cache, and if you viewed the page from another browser, it looked like it was "corrupted". Settled on going back to a single Style sheet which took care of the problem. Also tested caching differing versions of pages dependent on the browser. Worked great, but of course that can eat up more memory per page.
