I also saw that on Zope pages and then spent way too much time trying to find out how to do it from mailing lists etc. when I had the same epiphany that you did that simply "stripping" the navigation out of the standalone dtml-doc/methods would do it for my entire site. Thus, here's the link that I cobbled together that's in my standard html_footer (in this case, I use pp as the variable instead of printable as I thought that "might" be the standard): <a href="&dtml-URL0;?&dtml-QUERY_STRING;&pp=1"> <img src="zImages/printable" border="0" alt="printer-friendly version"> </a> I can't vouch for the "Zope" correctness of the URL variable though it seems to work for me. OT - XMLRPC from Javascript

I'm not sure whether anyone else is interested, but I just came across this: http://www.vcdn.org/Public/XMLRPC/ Basically it's an implementation of XMLRPc in Javascript, it works well so far, you can update parts of your page without having to request the whole lot. Intersting. Phil

Looking for Zope programmer

Hello I am looking for a Zope/Python programmer in New York area to work with me creating a small site promoting and distributing foreign film and music. Familiarity with catalog essential, and preferably Etailer and the new Zope Page Templates also so we can handle roundtrip workflow and reusable style layout nicely between Dreamweaver and Zope. I will be responsible for visual design and preparation of art .css etc for all pages. Initially, there will be about 100 items in the catalog. The general site graphic design would be along the lines of www.koreanfoodnyc.com ie: sequences of small graphics & video still images for each of the 100 items. The new project should ideally use PIL-based modules such as the Photo product to streamline upload and maintenance using auto-thumnbailing, naming etc. - Jason

And it really isn't accessible to anonymous users, but is freely accessible to all authenticated users. Zope periodically shutting down....

Has anyone else experienced Zope shutting down automatically? I can't seem to trace when it happens, but it seems to just shut down after a few hours.....Is there a log file kept anywhere? Thanks! Aaron.

Exporting an URL with a file extension from a product

Hi All, I'm quite a novice with Zope, and I'm working on a product which exports a style sheet(which is computed, so it can't be a static file). If the URL (and the python function name) is 'stylesheet', it works fine in IE but the style sheet is not cached by Netscape. I believe that the URL in the LINK tag needs to have an extension of .css to be cached by Netscape, but I would be happy to hear otherwise. How can I export an URL named "stylesheet.css" from a python product? gregory

ZClass views and manage_ methods

Hi: I have just been hit with ZClass fever. I am digging it! I found that I can create methods in my ZClass and then use those methods for different management views. One thing that is cool on these methods is to include <dtml-var manage_tabs> What I would also like is to be able to include that next set of stuff that is in manage_main, most especially the select box that seems to have something to do with filtered_meta_types. Persistent dictionaries

Hi I'm working on a CMF Product which is based on PortalFolder and PortalContent. This Folderish object contains some items which inherits from OFS.SimpleItem.Item, Persistence.Persistent and Aquisition.Implicit. These items have (had) some properties which are speciel to their class. In order to get around the problem with adding new attributes and having instantiated objects which doesn't have the attributes I decided to keep the attributes in a dictionary.
