Making a Zope Product question...
by Frederic Quin 14 Aug '01

14 Aug '01

Hi all, I am trying to create a Zope Product... I have a first base Class and other classes. The other classes must be accessible and instanciate only from instances of the first base class. For example, Vocabulary objects can be everywhere in the tree. I would like Vocabulary objects to be created only inside ZCatalogs... I don't know how to do that... Thanks, Frederic Quin

I'm trying, and not succeeding, to compile PoPy-2.0.6 and it won't compile (or configure, really) without mxDateTime headers...I've got the python-mxDateTime package, but not the headers...I don't get that. Can anyone help me? The exact error message is: checking for mxDateTime.h... no configure: error: PoPy needs mxDateTime headers Thanks! Russell

Re: I am getting crazy...

(you're still not CC'ing the mailinglist.) Why do you name the init file __init.py? Since your traceback mentions __init__.py Does your file at all have 57 lines? If so, what's on that line? This is a SyntaxError and has little to do with Zope. It's a python problem for you and you might just have made a little typo somewhere. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Frederic Quin" <fquin(a)profile4u.com> To: <mail(a)peterbe.com> Sent: Tuesday, August 14, 2001 5:25 PM Subject: I am getting crazy... > In fact, the problem I have is very different... > Here is the __init.py of my new python product and bellow, the error message I have when Zope start up... > > > ###################################### > doc__ = 'Knowledge Definition Product.' > version__ = '1.0.0' > > import Globals > from Globals import ImageFile > > import KnowledgeDefinition > > > def initialize( context ): > """Initialize the product. referencing title value as a var name
by Hamzat kamal 14 Aug '01

Goodday, My first question is that is it possible to store the title value of an object with <dtml-let> and later reference it with <dtml-if > in another object? if it is possible, pls furnish me with the deatils. Else i think i better explain what i actually have in mind. What i wanted is to list the titles of all the dtml documents in a folder, set the hyperlink of each dtml document to its id and finally store the value of the clicked title in a variable name. I think I am able to scale through this, but my problem now is to reference that variable name in another object. Below is the code i used to iterate and store the title value; this code is on one object called content_html: <ul> <dtml-in "objectValues(['DTML Document'])" sort=title> <li> <a href="&dtml-id;/">&dtml-title; <dtml-let dname="_['sequence-var-title']"> </dtml-let> </a> </li> </dtml-in> </ul> Below here is where i am having a problem, the code here is on another object called index_html but both content_html and index_html are in the same folder. <dtml-let dday=dname> <dtml-if expr="dday[0:6]=='Saturd'"> <dtml-var saturday2> <dtml-elif expr="dday[0:6]=='Friday'"> <dtml-var friday2> <dtml-elif expr="dday[0:6]=='Sunday'"> <dtml-var sunday2> <dtml-else> <dtml-var table2> </dtml-if> </dtml-let> Help in any form will be highly appreciated. Thanks. kamal.

Re: [Zope] Popy Problems

Hmmm...maybe more details are in order: I've got a PowerPC running Debian-woody. I don't have a clue what egenix is, and I can't seem to find a Debian package for it, either. A find / -name egenix turns up nothing. Neither does a "locate". I looked in the debian archive, and it ain't there that I can tell. So, what's egenix, and where can I get that? Part II: bak (kedai) says: > this is where i got mxDateTime.h on my system. > egenix-mx-base-2.0.1/mx/DateTime/mxDateTime/ > this is a standard mx tar ball Since I don't have this, I can't get the mxDateTime.h file. Neither can I seem to locate the "standard mx tar ball". I do have the mx/DateTime/mxDateTime stuff, and move the .so to the different place that was mentioned, but no dice. Thanks for the help so far. Russell On Tuesday 14 August 2001 01:46, wrote: > Whoops! Question about the default view of a ZClass named index_html
by Michiel Toneman 13 Aug '01

13 Aug '01

Im trying to create a product for a simplified Content Management System based on Zope (i.e. even simpler than the Zope interface ;-) ). To do this, I want the equivalent of a DTML document, with a custom editing interface... I have created a new product, containing a ZClass which has the following base classes: ZObject, CatalogAwareBase, ZDTMLDocument. I'm doing OK with this, except that I can't figure out how to make a product instance use it's default 'View' method when it is named 'index_html'. If I call it index_html, the following URLs get me a zero sized reply of mime-type text/x-unknown-content-type. http://server/MyFolder/ http://server/MyFolder/index_html However, I can use the object as http://server/MyFolder/index_html/index_html And everything goes well.... Also, if I rename the object to something else, I don't have this problem. Anyone have a solution/workaround for this bug? Greetings, Michiel
