I'm interested in using the "software product" and "product release" products that are used on the zope.org site for product releases... are they available somewhere?

However I dont see how a hidden tag would be messier :) The question is, how do you expect it to work? What if you give an identical name with the query string as in the form? Should the result be overwritten? Should it be combined? Regards Tino

Another plea about Large File Support
by Chris Withers 04 Aug '01

04 Aug '01

Hi, The system I'm working on is Debian 2.2 (potato) with a ReiserFS 3.5 partition on it. I'm assured that on this setup, I should be able to have files of up to 4GB in size, currently I get barfage at exactly 2GB :-( What do I need to do to get Python 1.5.2 and Python 2.1 compiled in such a way that I can have a Data.fs bigger than 2GB? Is there anything I need to do to either Zope 2.3.2 or Zope 2.4.0 to make this work in addition to having Python compiled with Large File Support? cheers, Chris

RE: [Zope] SSL + ProxyPass + Zope question...

Can you just firewall off port 8080? -----Original Message----- From: Eric Walstad [mailto:eric@walstads.net] Sent: Friday, August 03, 2001 4:03 PM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] SSL + ProxyPass + Zope question... Hello, Apache is listening on port 80 and 443, Zope listening on port 8080. When a request comes in for port 443 (or HTTPS) Apache forwards the request to Zope on port 8080 and sends the results back out thru SSL, just as it should. If a user goes to https://mysite.com/PasswordProtectedArea/ an SSL connection is created and the password is forwarded to Zope after it's been sent thru SSL. However, if the user goes to http://mysite.com:8080/PasswordProtectedArea/ Apache never sees the request and it goes straight to Zope. The user is then prompted for a password, which would be sent back to Zope without SSL. So my question is, how do I keep Zope from accepting any requests from the outside world unless they've gone thru Apache first? Can I tell Zope to listen on something like 192.168.1.123:8080 so that it will never see requests from the outside world? TIA, Eric. _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )

RE: [Zope] images and HTML code in a product

Do you want to simulate the hierarchy? It would not be necessary from Zope's point of view... If you want to, you could implement the hierarchy with appropriate container objects inside your product class. It might be possible that you can simply use "OFS.ObjectManager"s as containers. But it may be possible that the "Persistent" included in "ObjectManager" makes life a bit difficult for you. If this would be the case, you would have two options: 1. hack around persistence (by setting "_p_changed" to 0, after you have build the container) 2. build your own container. You may look at the "Products.CMFCore.DirectoryView" (part of CMF) on how to do this. Dieter

Self-deletion of a Zclass instance
by Carlson, Christopher W. 04 Aug '01

04 Aug '01

Hi, everybody. How can I set up a self-destruct method in a Zclass? I'm putting together a calendar of events that is editable by certain individuals, and it needs to handle the removal of events from the list. I currently have some code in a DTML document that handles the deletion, but I'd much rather simply allow a calendar entry to have a 'delete' method that does the appropriate stuff. Is this possible? (I've done quite a bit of Zclass work, and gone through the various tutorials and manuals, and haven't found anything appropriate. I certainly don't rule out the possibility that I've simply overlooked an obvious passage, and won't be offended by an 'RTFM' response, if it mentions which portion of the FM to look in...) --- Chris
