Patch to make Xron work under Zope 2.4.0

The Xron scheduler product tries to import DateTime from Globals, but under Zope 2.4.0 it is not available from Globals and must instead be imported directly from DateTime. Hello, in a hand-made ZClass the tabs of 2 of 4 instances show this-->>>> <a href="manage_UndoForm" ----->>>>target="blank" > Undo</a> This means the manage - view opens in a new window! I can't reproduce my behaviour to find a solution (the Classes have got an attribute target but can this mix up Zope??). I use IE 6 (but 4.7 shows the same) on Win 2000 server. Thanks!

Trying to use Vim for remote editing with Zope

Hi all I tried out Vim 6 with the 'netrw.vim' plugin to edit files remotely. It works beautifully for editing via ftp, but I did hit a snag .. I want to use it for editing Zope objects. Zope supports this via both ftp and WebDAV. (To support WebDAV from Vim, maybe the 'cadaver' commandline WebDAV client would be useful http://www.webdav.org/cadaver/ ). Anyway, so I do: :e ftp://blommie:10021/standard_html_header edit a document, and save successfully. Then I try to edit a Python script, which is handled a bit differently by Zope: the file returned by ftp starts with a magic comment block which contains the script properties. This is parsed by Zope upon upload. However, this should all be transparent from the ftp point of view. Joel, Can you define what you mean by "structured text?" I'm always running into situations where I don't want to give someone any control other than control over the copy. They want to put in bolding, italics, etc., but beyond that I don't want to let them do anything else. Will structured text do the trick and if so, how does one implement this? VirtualSite/SiteRoot

hi, I have a few virtual sites on one Zope server w/ Apache in front. I some times end up with: www.mysite.com/sitedocs/sitedocs/sitedocs/.. It just keeps appending a sitedocs for some things I do on the site. The site works, no matter how many get appended, but to a user it probably looks redundant and convoluted. How to avoid the inheritance of DTMLDocuments?

Hi everyone, I've run into a problem. I originally thought that only DTMLMethods would be inherited over the directory structure, i.e. a index_html method in the root folder would be available in the subfolders. But now I have the following problem that also DTMLDocuments are inherited! This destroys a bit my application logic, as outlined below: The customers have there own subfolder on the Zope Server where they can upload their HTML (!) documents. In the Zope root folder I have the following DTMLMethod index_html which is supposed to be inherited to the customer's subfolder: <dtml-if index.html><dtml-var index.html><dtml-elif index.htm><dtml-var index.htm><dtml-else><dtml-var header>The <dtml-var "title_or_id()"> site is not yet available.<dtml-var footer></dtml-if> The problem is however that the index.htm DTMLDocument (!) is also inherited to the customer's subfolder so that the "The site is not yet available" part is never executed :-( Is there a switch to avoid the inheritance of DTMLDocuments to a specific folder (i.e. in my case there's /pool/empl1, /pool/empl2 etc.) that i could set in the /pool folder in my case? HTMLDocument and CatalogAwareness

Hi fellow Zopers, I have one question regarding the CatalogAwareness of sf's HTMLDocument product ( http://www.zope.org/Members/sf/HTMLDocument) As I have checked this Program, it supports Zope's ZCatalog. But I have a major Problem with it: if you create a HTMLDocument and change it afterwards, the catalog does not get updated with the changed data. In contrary to the DTMLDocumentExt product ( http://www.zope.org/Members/Kaivo/DTMLDocumentExt) which does this job very well. Since I'm not that good python programmer I would love it if someone could implement that complete Catalog Support into HTMLDocument. I already wrote two Emails to the creator but so far he has not answered. So again: if there's someone out there who could quickly browse through the source and make a solution public, I'd love to hear from it :-) Thanks in advance for your incredible support, Philipp Robbel

You don't need to do anything, except to ensure yourself that your html is right. That means at least to have the 'html' and 'body' tags placed properly within your header/footer, if you use them. (Actually I don't need to do this, except for the embeded javascript to work) Now, if what you want is to show off the dtml instead of rendering it (an entirely different thing), you must use PrincipiaSearchSource: Place at the root a dtml method with id 'show_source' containing the following line: <dtml-var PrincipiaSearchSource html_quote > Now, to see the source of any dtml, you use: http://www.website.com/some_dtml/show_source Notice you need to have the right permission.
