Problems with virtual hosting

I am trying to get virtual hosting to work, but run in some trouble. Whenever I try to callup a page I get a 404 error: What am i missing?? Yep. You are probably seeing a problem with some code I added for python 2.x compatibility. Can you give us a traceback so I can find out what the calling object is? I'm cc'ing the tracker-dev list. Acquisition Problem

Hi guys, were having a little problem with some code we are writing for our website. We have a method that uses the bobobase to locate the newest image file in a directory and create a thumbnail of that image. We then want to load this method into our main page to show the thumbnail. The code for the method is as follows: <dtml-let images="objectItems('Image')"> <dtml-in images sort="bobobase.modification_time()" size=1> <dtml-let item=sequence-item> <img src="<dtml-var "item.id()">" width='150' heigth='113'></img> </dtml-let> </dtml-in> </dtml-let> This works fine when you view it, and it also with the below code IN the folder, but we can't get it to work outside the folder: <html> <dtml-var thumbnail> </html> and if we try this: <html> <dtml-var "folder.thumbnail"> </html> with folder as the path to the folder, it just renders the DTML code. Installing Zope

I have installed version 2.3.3 of Zope and cannot seem to get permissions set for users to have remote access to editing / creating files or using/managing products. When I log in remotely, I get access to the left frame functions like control panel, but do get access to any of the content functions, including adding and deleting foders /products. This Zope version also starts up differently, without the Zserver Monitor and does not have the usual ACCESS.txt file. Can someone describe to me what I am overlooking in the new release that prevents me from allowing remote users access to zope? Thank you J. Michael Mc Kay

Hi people there! I have a problem with namespace in python scripts. I found a lot namespace Q&A but I didn't find any pointers about the following in the list archive: I have a python Script 'xxx' and a DTML method 'xxxcaller' (code below). I discovered that namespaces depend on the method how the 'xxx' script is called by the 'xxxcaller' DTML method. It works as expected if I do a <dtml-var xxx> and magically unexpected if I do a <dtml-var "xxx()">. The output of 'xxxcaller' is: <dtml-var xxx> --> foo <dtml-var "xxx()"> --> sort_order not defined Why that? Render a DTML doc from a python script (not external method)

Hi, I make a Python script that chooses the DTML document where to go depending on the content of a form. The target DTML doc is in the same folder as the form (DTML doc too) I'm getting tired of trying to render the object correctly: (a) Trying to play with RESPONSE.redirect(...) does not work from Python script (in fact does nothing whatever I put as argument) (b) "return container['mydtmldoc']" gives an unrendered document (c) "return container['mydtmldoc'] (_.None, _)" give an AttributeError (Error value "validate") when rendering 'mydtmldoc' Note that of course calling mydtmldoc through a web browser works perfectly. Local Roles, User-Defined Roles

Hi, For some reason I don't appear able to create user-defined roles at all! With regard to local roles, I'm able to create them, but they don't appear to have any effect. For example, if I create a local role for pnl as manager then change the *access content information* from the acquired setting to just manager and owner (as opposed to anonymous), then try to access the page, I discover that only user webmaster, the owner, is able to access the page. Nor can I change ownership! How should I begin trouble-shooting this? TIA, BenO
