Should work. I've nevertried it, but from what I understand, VHM takes care of the BASE and PATH variables for you. This looks like a straightforward application of Virtual hosting. Structured Text source code tweaking
by paul_s_johnson＠urscorp.com 19 Jul '01

19 Jul '01

I am creating a method of storing capsule resumes of site users. I am storing it in MySQL in structured text format and am allowing users to edit their resumes in place on the site. Many of the capsule resumes contain paragraphs commencing with "Mr. " or "Ms." as in "Mr. Blow solved world hunger". When Zope renders this into HTML it interprets it as a list item <LI> in an ordered list <OL> - an undesired result. Is there any way to edit the source code of StructuredText.py to except out paragraphs beginning with abbreviated titles? I've been poking around in the source code. I know regular expressions fairly well from Perl and have been searching for clues. However, I am not fluent in Python in an object oriented context. Can anyone enlighten me here? -PSJ

evaltag in newer zopes
by magnus/Websys＠websys.no 19 Jul '01

Some of our users/developers (the difference tends to be blurred when you're using Zope) used and liked the <dtml-eval> tag in older zopes. I've just upgraded to the newest and bestest, but hestitate to install evaltag. The evaltag package / patch includes a fix for dtml-comment so you can have malformed dtml code inside it. I think this was was put in the standard code a couple of releases back, so I'm afraid that the patch won't install cleanly. -Magnus

RE: [Zope] lower(), how?

You are probably using Python 1.5.2, whereas Michel was using a more recent build. In 1.5.2, use the string module: import string n = raw_input("Guess a number between 1 and 100") n = string.lower(n) String methods (the ability to say "Foo".lower()) was added in Python 1.6. -Randy > -----Original Message----- > From: Peter Bengtsson [mailto:mail@peterbe.com] > Sent: Thursday, July 19, 2001 7:42 AM > To: michel(a)digicool.com; zope(a)zope.org > Subject: [Zope] lower(), how? > > > I saw this in your http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Articles/ZODB1 > > choice=raw_input("Press 'L' to list employees, 'A' to add" > "an employee, or 'Q' to quit:") > choice=choice.lower() > > > I can't get that lower() thing to work. RE: ZMySQLDA product does not load
by Norman Khine 19 Jul '01

Like I said in my e-mail, you need to ensure you have python talking to mysql. To do this, you will either have to install Distutils module from the python site or better still update to python 2.1 -- as Zope 2.4 will be moving to this, in which case Distutils is build with this. Once this is done, install MySQL-python, ensuring you read the INSTALL.txt. hth -----Original Message----- From: a_oki(a)yahoo.com [mailto:a_oki@yahoo.com] Sent: Thursday, July 19, 2001 3:16 PM To: Norman Khine Subject: Re: ZMySQLDA product does not load I just did and you where right, it returns an error >>> import _mysql Traceback (innermost last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in ? I _think_ if you look at the URL you'll see that when you click on the propertysheet tab, you'll see you're in objectname/propertysheets/foobar/manage_... so you're only seeing the propertysheet's manage tabs. The easiest way to fix this is to make your own manage_sheet method of the ZClass, something like (this is typed in directly from memory - but it should be close enough): <dtml-if dochange> <dtml-call "propertysheets.foobar.manage_editProperties(REQUEST)"> <p>Changes made.</p> </dtml-else> <form method="POST"> monkeys: <input type="text" value="&dtml-monkeys;"><br> <input type="submit" name="dochange" value="Change Monkeys"> </form> </dtml-if> -- Anthony Baxter <anthony(a)interlink.com.au> It's never too late to have a happy childhood.

lower(), how?
by Peter Bengtsson 19 Jul '01

I saw this in your http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Articles/ZODB1 choice=raw_input("Press 'L' to list employees, 'A' to add" "an employee, or 'Q' to quit:") choice=choice.lower() I can't get that lower() thing to work. I tried for example: n = raw_input("Guess a number between 1 and 100") n.lower() but I just get AttributeError: 'string' object has no attribute 'lower'
