Dear Sir We have Installed Zope on Windows NT 4.0/IIS 4.0. I did all the changes as needed for IIS. But When I tried to Logon to Zope. It's giving Unauthorised Access. I have pasted the Error message. Please help Us in resolving the problem. ERROR MESSAGE HTTP Error 401 401.1 Unauthorized: Logon Failed This error indicates that the credentials passed to the server do not match the credentials required to log on to the server. Please contact the Web server's administrator to verify that you have permission to access the requested resource. from ZClass attribute method to ZInstance?
by Jean Lagarde 14 Jul '01

14 Jul '01

I am seeking enlightenment (but please don't answer with a koan ;-) I've asked this question before, got no reply, and worked around the problem by using a python script instead of a dtml method, but I needed to add another method to my ZCLass yesterday, and this started to bug me again, because the code would be simpler in a dtml method than in a python script (one loop, no logic). I defined a ZClass based on ObjectManager. I would like a dtml method attribute of the ZClass to loop over the contained objects (of another ZCLass type), i.e. <dtml-in "ObjectValues('Field Interface')"> But when I call that method from a dtml document, ObjectValues() is not called on what I want, i.e. the instance of my ZCLass container, and so it returns nothing (it does not cause any error, it just returns an empty list). If this was a straight OO environment, I would expect to be able to ask for something like this.ObjectValues(), but I know this is not the case in Zope; 'this' corresponds to the calling dtml document, and not to the ZClass instance to which my method is an attribute of. In the equivalent script, I can use container.ObjectValues, and I have verified that this works. Is there any way to do this (i.e. access the container) in a dtml method, and if not, why not? Here are the two forms of what I want to do, the python script form, which works as expected, and the dtml method form, which doesn't work. ------ python script (works): for val in container.objectValues('Field Interface'): <print stuff based on val> return printed ------- dtml method (does not work because objectValues returns []): <dtml-in "objectValues('Field Interface')"> stuff based on sequence-item </dtml-in> ------- Cheers, Jean

Acquired namespaces within a python product class method?
by sean.upton＠uniontrib.com 14 Jul '01

14 Jul '01

I'm doing some work on a python product with several classes; one of those classes is a site container designed to provide a bunch of useful methods to any object that can acquire them. I have method1() which is actually used by DTML methods, etc, and method2, which is called by method1(): class foo(OFS.Folder): """container-type class)""" def method1(self): return self.method2() def method2(self): return 'something' I have a folder hierarchy like such: [sitefolder] (instance of class "foo" provides | method1 and method2 via | the product's "foo" class code) +[subfolder] (Folder that contains a TTW python method called method2) My problem is that in this case I want to create a method2 in the ODB that exists in a subfolder of this container, so that method1 (which is acquired from the parent folder of this subfolder), called in the context of subfolder, should call method2, but from the namespace of the current context, rather than self (the context of the sitefolder). The problem is that the following doesn't work: def method1(self): return method2() How would I get method1(), which resides is acquired, to use the current namespace when calling method2 from a URL like /sitefolder/subfolder/method1? I've tried a few things, but I am a bit confused... Re: ZODB: Invalid Object Reference adding External Method - RESOLVED
by Brad Clements 14 Jul '01

Just completely disregard my previous post. -- migrate.py is meant to run as a Zope application, not as an extension, hence calling Zope.app() caused the reference error. I fixed it up to run as an extension with some quick hacks. How do I tell when the last login was?
by Oliver Erlewein 14 Jul '01

14 Jul '01

Hi I want to know when the last login of a Zopeuser was. I use the normal acl_users of Zope. Is there something similar to bobobase_modification_time? If not, where do I start to add such functionality? ZODB: Invalid Object Reference adding External Method
by Brad Clements 14 Jul '01

This one has me skunked Zope 2.3.3 binary on RH Linux 7.1 I have CMF-1.1 and CMFWiki installed. I'm using INSTANCE_HOME. I'm trying to migrate my old ZWiki pages using the do_site method in CMFWiki/Extensions/migrate.py When I try to add this external method, I get this traceback. This is when adding the external method, not when trying to call it: Error Type: InvalidObjectReference Error Value: Attempt to store an object from a foreign database connection Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/Zope/Zope-2.3.2-linux2-x86/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 223, in publish_module File /usr/Zope/Zope-2.3.2-linux2-x86/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 187, in publish File /usr/Zope/Zope-2.3.2-linux2-x86/lib/python/Zope/__init__.py, line 221, in zpublisher_exception_hook File /usr/Zope/Zope-2.3.2-linux2-x86/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 175, in publish File /usr/Zope/Zope-2.3.2-linux2-x86/lib/python/Zope/__init__.py, line 235, in commit File /usr/Zope/Zope-2.3.2-linux2-x86/lib/python/ZODB/Transaction.py, line 300, in commit File /usr/Zope/Zope-2.3.2-linux2-x86/lib/python/ZODB/Connection.py, line 375, in commit (Info: (('Products.ExternalMethod.ExternalMethod', 'ExternalMethod'), '\000\000\000\000\000\000/\363', '')) InvalidObjectReference: (see above) id: Migrate title: blank module name: CMFWiki.migrate Function: do_site Any ideas? Re: [Zope] Starting a new database with MySQL
by liz 14 Jul '01

We've got a form going with a MySQL database that submits things to an email address. Trying to set up this database isn't working for some reason. (I didn't set up the other one, and the person who did is currently out of town.) Thanks for the suggestions, everyone. Otherwise, it converts it into a string. Your instance object is apparently not callable. The "str" function, then, returns "<classname ....>". > .... > Now, when I use DTML Method as a base class it works, but dtml > variables in the class index_html file aren't interpreted. eg they > display as "<dtml-var test>" Hmm: If you use "<dtml-var your_instance>", the "index_html" is irrelevant. Instead, you should get the rendered content of your DTML in the instance itself (it is a DTML Method, you told us!). If you use "<dtml-var "your_instance.index_html">", then the calling magic does not apply (because in a Python expression, i.e. inside "...", you take over full control -- no more magic!). The "str" applied to a DTML object returns the source html-quoted, as you described. To render "index_html", you should use: <dtml-var "_.render(your_instance.index_html)"> Dieter

Last Modified Entry for Methods
by Martin Stötzel 14 Jul '01

14 Jul '01

Hi all, I use the bobobase property(?) to display when a document has been edited. <dtml-var bobobase_modification_time fmt="%d.%m.%Y"> But this works so far only for folders and not for methods. Or is there any opportunity to get the "last modified" entry from the index_html Method? It is listed in the standard manage-view... Martin

DTML-IN not using SIZE parameter in HDML coding.
by Schmidt, Allen J. 14 Jul '01

14 Jul '01

I'm working on an HDML page to displayed on a WAP-enabled phone. Its all done in Zope. The application works great. It asks you for part of a company name to search for, submits and queries a database and returns a list of company names that match. However, it seems to be ignoring the size parameter of the dtml-in tag. So long at the list is fewer than 10 it works fine. If over that, the phone can't handle the display of the page and throws an error. Not a Zope error but one from the phone. Any idea why size would not work with HDML? Thanks Allen
