Strange Linux Behavior

I have set up Zope on a RedHat 7.1 distribution and had everything working terrifically until... I changed the hostname of the machine from "foo" to "bar" ... now when it is as "bar", I get a z2 startup exception: File /usr/local/Zope/z2.py, line 623, in ? File /usr/local/Zope/ZServer/HTTPServer.py, line 391, in __init__ File /usr/local/Zope/ZServer/medusa/http_server.py, line 550, in __init__ Error: host not found Any ideas? Jason

Netscape renders different than IE

Below is a snip of the dtml I use in the leftnav of a wiki-like site I made. It is not pretty, pieced together from snips from this list, but it was working just fine until I moved the site from Zope running on WinMe to RedHat7.1. (To accomplish this move, once I got linux installed, I mounted the windows partition and copie Data.fs to the new Zope folder in linux. I really didn't expect it to work, but it did. However...) This snip is supposed to display a checkbox next to items that the authenticated user owns. Also it hides files that have hide in the name from non-owners. (This part handles docs and images. I have another section (nearly identical) to handle folders.) This works fine in Netscape, but no longer works in IE (ver 5.0 on win2k server). And as this is all server side, I cannot understand how this could be. Why would zope process this differenly based on client? Also, per a thread I noticed awhile ago, I can no longer manage the site remotely with IE, the manage frame renders index_html instead. 'Owner' not being set.

Dear All, I'm an information designer, and have been working with our programmer on a project. The url is: http://d029.ml.uwcm.ac.uk:8080/imi_test zClasses and forms have been set up to allow contributors to upload information regarding books, journals, etc, which belong to them. This information should then appear in the relevant area. To upload their information, users navigate to their folders, eg. http://d029.ml.uwcm.ac.uk:8080/imi_test/browse_by_contributor/example/book or http://d029.ml.uwcm.ac.uk:8080/imi_test/browse_by_contributor/example2/book and upload their material using the 'Add book' link/form. (username/password for 'example' is example/example, and username/password for 'example2' is example2/example2. Problem in short: information regarding a book which is uploaded into "example's" book section is also appearing in "example2's" book section. The resulting 'book' object is being added to the correct folder, and the zCatalog seems to be picking up the right metadata - except for the 'owner'. WHY doc.manage_changeProperties(listProperty=1) works but doc.manage_changeProperties({'listProperty':1}) doesn't ? Starting a new database with MySQL

Greetings, I'm trying to start a new database with Zope's MySQL but I'm having trouble with the Database Connection String. The suggestions that have been given to me haven't worked, and I've been unable to locate documentation that answers this question. What should I put in there? Sorry for the noise... As is so easy to do in our modern world...ask first, then investigate. /ZopeHome/lib/Python/Shared/DC/ZRDB/dtml/connectionTestForm.dtml Removed the Style which wants to set the width but does not. Set Rows to 15 and Cols to 80. Worked great. Here I've been complaining all this time and I had the solution in the palm of my hand...Open Source is cool... Great Weekend to all! Allen
