ZMySQLDA Product broken
by Martin Stötzel 30 Jun '01

30 Jun '01

GletscherHi all, I have read a few messages concerning this topic, but still I am confused and cannot make the Product ZMySQL DA run. I work on a Win-2000 machine with MySQL 3.23 and Zope 2.33, Python 1.52. I get this Import Traceback err message: Traceback (innermost last): File "C:\PROGRA~1\ZOPE\lib\python\OFS\Application.py", line 528, in import_products product=__import__(pname, global_dict, global_dict, silly) File "C:\PROGRA~1\ZOPE\lib\python\Products\ZMySQLDA\__init__.py", line 91, in ? import DA File "C:\PROGRA~1\ZOPE\lib\python\Products\ZMySQLDA\DA.py", line 91, in ? from db import DB File "C:\PROGRA~1\ZOPE\lib\python\Products\ZMySQLDA\db.py", line 89, in ? import _mysql ImportError: No module named _mysql Searching for a solution i found that I have to install several other fixes/updates for Zope and Python (e.g. MySQLdb) but windows_installer files don't work (I cannot choose the Zope Location Path)... Does anybody have a solution? Martin

I'm a Zope newbie and have built a Zope site but can't work out how to put meta tags into the head section. I understand html but not a lot more. I want to put meta tags in the head section and then notify search engines. I would be grateful if someone could tell me how. Many thanks Jan

using SSL (Apache) + Zope only in manage-mode
by Andreas Hölzl 30 Jun '01

30 Jun '01

to all the zope-gurus out there, it is no problem for me, getting Zope and Apache with mod_ssl working together via ProxyPass. A good HowTo allready exists (http://www.zope.org/Members/unfo/apache_zserver_ssl) But with this method (ProxyPass and SiteRoot) you can only protect subtree with SSL. Has anyone allready a solution how to protect the hole zope tree but only in manage-mode. One can filter out *manage-URLs* with the rewrite-module on the Apache side, but how to transfer links inside Zope? thanks and greetings Andreas Hölzl

Searching phrases flakey in Zope?
by Simon Blandford 30 Jun '01

30 Jun '01

I noticed that searching for phrases i.e. "search strings in quotes" with Products which use ZCatalog seems to produce undesired results. Two words in quotes is fine, Three words seems to yield spurious matches as if it is matching any of the words *in* the quotes, More than three words in quotes doesn't match anything even though the phrase is definitely in the documents being searched. Mixing words, boolean an quotes is a complete disaster and I have no idea what it is or isn't matching e.g. fred and andy not bob and "over the hill and beyond" Interestingly, if I use the search box on the Zope site itself phrases work fine as long as they are in *single* quotes. This doesn't work on my own Zope installation however. Also booleans seem to need to be in capitals i.e. AND and NOT. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it behaving normally but I just don't understand it? Why is the Zope site itself different? Why I am being so pedantic? Well I have a Document Library which can not be split easily into topics so it relies very heavily on text searches. For it to work these searches need to be quite specific, like you can do on Google or Altavista. I often mix boolean, words and phrases when using internet search engines and can narrow things down quite well that way. Regards, Simon B.

dtml-if for a boolean property
by Leigh Ann Hildebrand 30 Jun '01

30 Jun '01

I'm using 2.3.2. I've got a dtml-method, index_outline, to display folder contexts for dynamic index_html pages. It had included the a dtml-if statement <dtml-if "_['id']=='index_html'"></dtml-if>, to prevent the index_html files themselves from displaying in the file list. It occurred to me that I had other files and types of objects that I didn't want to show in my index_html, so I'd be better off using a property (index_hide in this case) that I could set for individual objects. However, when I've tried to modify the above dtml-if statement for a boolean index_hide property, it doesn't work. What's the proper syntax for that? A value of true for index_hide should prevent it showing. by sorular＠netscape.net 30 Jun '01

30 Jun '01

A very simple question I think? When I first installed Zope, the localhost:8080 link takes me to the Zope Quick Start dtml with whole hip of links . How do I just put links on *this* dtml that shows some of the files on my hard disk: i.e. Zope installed and running from C:/program files/Zope/ and I want to be able to view the files on C:/docs/*.doc or C:/img/*.jpg from this first index html? thanks __________________________________________________________________ Get your own FREE, personal Netscape Webmail account today at http://webmail.netscape.com/

Suddenly I cannot add new objects
by Max Møller Rasmussen 30 Jun '01

I have a zClass 'maal' with the following properties: title string language "dk uk" selection format string description text The system has been running for a while now, and it has worked nicely. Probably I have made some changes that has subtely destroyed something, or it is some kind of problem with Catalog. I can still read all the 'maal' objects that I have added earlier, but I cannot add new ones. When I try to add it to another objecManager zClass I have made I get the following traceback: ----------------------------------------------------------- Live system: Zope Version Zope 2.3.1 (binary release, python 1.5.2, linux2-x86) Python Version 1.5.2 (#10, Dec 6 1999, 12:16:27) [GCC 2.7.2.3] System Platform linux2 and Development: Zope Version Zope 2.3.2 (binary release, python 1.5.2, win32-x86) Python Version 1.5.2 (#0, Jul 30 1999, 09:52:18) [MSC 32 bit (Intel)] System Platform win32 ----------------------------------------------------------- Error Type: KeyError Error Value: description --- Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/local/zope/Zope-2.3.1-linux2-x86/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 223, in publish_module File /usr/local/zope/Zope-2.3.1-linux2-x86/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 187, in publish File /usr/local/zope/Zope-2.3.1-linux2-x86/lib/python/Zope/__init__.py, line 221, in zpublisher_exception_hook (Object: RoleManager) File /usr/local/zope/Zope-2.3.1-linux2-x86/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 171, in publish File /usr/local/zope/Zope-2.3.1-linux2-x86/lib/python/ZPublisher/mapply.py, line 160, in mapply (Object: maal_add) File /usr/local/zope/Zope-2.3.1-linux2-x86/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 112, in call_object (Object: maal_add) File /usr/local/zope/Zope-2.3.1-linux2-x86/lib/python/OFS/DTMLMethod.py, line 189, in __call__ (Object: maal_add) File /usr/local/zope/Zope-2.3.1-linux2-x86/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_String. py, line 538, in __call__ (Object: maal_add) File /usr/local/zope/Zope-2.3.1-linux2-x86/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_With.py , line 133, in render (Object: maal.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['id'], REQUEST)) File /usr/local/zope/Zope-2.3.1-linux2-x86/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_Util.py , line 334, in eval (Object: maal.createInObjectManager(REQUEST['id'], REQUEST)) (Info: REQUEST) File <string>, line 0, in ? strange 'print' behavior in Python Scripts
by Christopher N. Deckard 30 Jun '01

30 Jun '01

I'm running into problems because Zope is printing a space (" ") at the beginning of each line when 'print'ing from a Python Script. I'm trying to print out XML to a Java Applet and the Applet isn't smart enough to take this into account. Bad parser, but Zope shouldn't be doing this anyway. Any fix that I can do? -Chris -- -------------------------------------------------------------------- Christopher N.
