ExtImage and Email

Hello, I am trying to send an image of class ExtImage as attachment in an email. If image is of class Image I can do this: <dtml-boundary type=application/octet-stream disposition=attachment name=myTest.gif encode=base64> <dtml-var "myTest.data"> But which method (I couldn't find one) have I to use when image is of class ExtImage? Zope book comment form

Is the comment form at http://www.zope.org/DocProjects/Book/comments active? Once again, I submitted a list of typos, and I don't see the entry in the bug tracker. Here's what I caught scanning the first 50 pages. it's friendly, open source license Zope let's you it's ZEO technology based on it's id it's URL would be it's purpose is to It'd be great if new users could at least get through the first few pages before they encounter a typo. I want people to think of Zope as being a polished product. Thank you. --kyler

Viewing a version of a website?

Hi all If I am working on a version of a website, how do I view the website reflecting the current version I am working on and not the one visible to the public. Due to some JavaScript that we use, I cannot view the site in the management interface and must open a seperate browser on which to view the site. Also, is there a way of auto-joining a version the moment I log in? I want to avoid the possibility of editing the "live" website by accident if I forget to join a version. An alternative would be to lock all the objects in a site to the current edit version, but I don't know how to do that - any suggestions? Any pointers to articles on using Zope versioning would also be very helpful as I couldn't find any on Zope.org or other sites. Etienne

FSSession trouble

I have problems with the FSSession product (0.4.2) http://www.zope.org/Members/gaaros/FSSession Firstly, I rename the FSSession object to prevent naming confusion. ------ index_html --------------------------- <dtml-call changesSession> <dtml-var "_.str(changesSession)">  <dtml-call "changesSession.set('name','peter')"> <dtml-var "_.str(changesSession)">  <dtml-call changesSession> <dtml-var "_.str(changesSession)">  ------ /index_html --------------------------- Did you see what happened?? I lost a variable I managed to set as a cookie when calling the FSSession object again towards the bottom! Why this? How to prevent it? What I do in reality (the above pseudo) is that in standard_html_header I call the FSSession object and then use it to display custom Stylesheets. Then I call the FSSession object again to use it in standard_html_footer to use it to display different footers. The <dtml-call FSSession> is vital to be able to begin to use it, but why isn't it enough just to do it once in standard_html_header in a code like this: <dtml-var standard_html_header> <h1>A Page</h1> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> One simple alternative is to set a REQUEST variable in standard_html_header and use that instead of using the object in the standard_html_footer Welcoming some Zopezen Peter

Indexing and plaintext display gives PDF errors

I'm using Zope 2.3.2 with Python 1.5.2 running on Redhat. I don't use Python, I work in DTML. I'm cataloging technical documents. I do not use Document Library or the CMF, in part because of compatibility restrictions. (The site must support NetPositive, a non-javascript, non-CSS compatible browser.) The documents I'm indexing are html, text, Word, PowerPoint, and PDF files. I have the CMF and the Document Library product installed; I also had installed wvWare, though I'm not sure I installed it correctly. (The instructions were vague.) This is my problem. When I update my Catalog, I get a number of errors on the linux box that runs my Zope installation, related to PDF files: Error (0): PDF file is damaged - attempting to construct xref table ... Error: Top level pages is wrong type (null) Error: Couldn't read page catalog Error: Couldn't find trailer dictionary Error: Couldn't read xref table These repeat a few times, giving me two screens worth, before the index updating is complete. I can think of at least one problem that might be going on here: I think some PDF documents were added as type "DocumentFile", which is related to the DocumentLibrary stuff. Anyway, I'm trying to get rid of the errors, and be able to index the text of PDF and Word files. Suggestions? I'm forwarding this to the DocumentLibrary product engineer, too. zsqlrelay

Hi, this message is for ppl who use zsqlrelay. I'm having the following problem: I start 3 sqlr-connection-freetds. Then I do 3 queries(execute 3 zsql methods) with success but after that it is no more :-(, i.e, I cant do no more queries. Arent this connection persistent ones? Only by giving the sqlr-stop and sqlr-start command I'm then able to query again the mssql db. setup: -sql-relay 0.21 (where is the 0.24? firstworks.com is no more, anyone?) -rudiments-0.15 -freetds0.51 configured --with-tdsver=7.0 to support mssql 7.0 -zope 2.3.2-src Any help? Directions to sqlrelay new locations? VHM works in a much more graceful fashion than SiteRoot. Try that and you will not encounter the same sort of problem with siteroot hijacking your ZMI for a folder. This requires that you enable mod_rewrite either as a DSO or in the Apache core, or use a proxy like squid (instead) with a redirector - either way, if you can rewrite URLs, you are in good shape, and can access the ZMI for multiple sites without problems; SiteRoot, on the other hand is a pain to undo, change, etc... The base of the object should be set to http://www.foo.com/dir1 (no 8080). This takes care of rewriting all[1] URLs in the data being returned. Browsers Differences Again

Someone emailed me (bashing my demo) about http://www.freepm.org:8080/FreePM/scheduling not working. It worked fine with NS (we try to test with IE too, but it's so painful <s>). Anyway, I discovered that this code in the index_html (a DTML Method): ------------------------------------ <html> <head><title>FreePM Scheduling</title> </head> <dtml-let this_year="_.DateTime().year()"> <frameset rows="50,*" marginheight="2"> <frame src="menu" name="sched_menu"> <frame src="<dtml-var this_year>" name="sched_main"> </frameset> </frameset> </dtml-let> <NOFRAMES> FreePM requires a frames capable browser for proper operation. </NOFRAMES> </html> --------------------------------- Didn't work in IE, but does in NS. this_year resolves to a OFS Folder ID.
