RE: [Zope] How to remove 8080 from url

VHM works in a much more graceful fashion than SiteRoot. Try that and you will not encounter the same sort of problem with siteroot hijacking your ZMI for a folder. This requires that you enable mod_rewrite either as a DSO or in the Apache core, or use a proxy like squid (instead) with a redirector - either way, if you can rewrite URLs, you are in good shape, and can access the ZMI for multiple sites without problems; SiteRoot, on the other hand is a pain to undo, change, etc... The base of the object should be set to http://www.foo.com/dir1 (no 8080). This takes care of rewriting all[1] URLs in the data being returned. Experience has shown me that its a good idea to have a backup of your Data.fs before you start doing this. Zope can be a bit difficault to handle when the management interface isn't accessible. SiteRoot is a part of newer releases of Zope and can also be found as an individual product on zope.org [1] Well, not all but most :-) Martin Skøtt mskott(a)image.dk On Mon, 11 Jun 2001, Brown Fox wrote: > Hello, > i run apache as a front end for Zope. > One directory, www.foo.com/dir1/ is run by Zope, all > the others by Apache. > I use proxypass: > ProxyPass /dir1/ http://www.foo.com:8080/dir1 > ProxyPassReverse /dir1/ http:/www.foo.com:8080/dir1 > The problem i have is quite simple: urls inside dir1 > have the port 8080. Browsers Differences Again
by Tim Cook 11 Jun '01

Someone emailed me (bashing my demo) about http://www.freepm.org:8080/FreePM/scheduling not working. It worked fine with NS (we try to test with IE too, but it's so painful <s>). Anyway, I discovered that this code in the index_html (a DTML Method): ------------------------------------ <html> <head><title>FreePM Scheduling</title> </head> <dtml-let this_year="_.DateTime().year()"> <frameset rows="50,*" marginheight="2"> <frame src="menu" name="sched_menu"> <frame src="<dtml-var this_year>" name="sched_main"> </frameset> </frameset> </dtml-let> <NOFRAMES> FreePM requires a frames capable browser for proper operation. </NOFRAMES> </html> --------------------------------- Didn't work in IE, but does in NS. this_year resolves to a OFS Folder ID. If I explicitly point the frame sources like this it works fine in both browsers: <frame src="/FreePM/scheduling/menu" name="sched_menu"> <frame src="/FreePM/scheduling/<dtml-var this_year>/index_html" name="sched_main"> BTW: the error was Not Found in both frames. Why does IE not resolve those objects correctly? -- Tim Cook, President - FreePM,Inc. http://www.FreePM.com Office: (731) 884-4126 ONLINE DEMO: http://www.freepm.org:8080/FreePM

Cookies and IE
by Austin Mayberry 11 Jun '01

11 Jun '01

I am having a problem with cookies in Internet Explorer. Zope will not allow cookies in IE to have -'s or ,'s. The problem extends from the fact that IE does not quote the environment variable HTTP_COOKIE, so Zope has separate regular expressions to deal with HTTP_COOKIE in Netscape and IE when parsing HTTP_COOKIE into the cookies dictionary. This is handled in the parse_cookie method of HTTPRequest.py. The first reg exp below is for Netscape and the second is the one it uses for IE. I understand why the one for IE does not allow for spaces, \0's, "'s, and ;'s because those are possible delimeters of the end of a cookie value, but I do not understand why it excludes -'s and ,'s. Does anyone know the reasoning behind this? qparmre=regex.compile( '\([\0- ]*' '\([^\0- ;,=\"]+\)="\([^"]*\)\"' '\([\0- ]*[;,]\)?[\0- ]*\)' ) parmre=regex.compile( '\([\0- ]*' '\([^\0- ;,=\"]+\)=\([^\0- ;,\"]*\)' '\([\0- ]*[;,]\)?[\0- ]*\)' )

Ahh! Version problem at Zopelabs.
by Peter Bengtsson 11 Jun '01

Zopelabs doesn't work. I have written a new receipt and I then click "Add" or "Add and edit" and I get a error message about problems with Versions. Something that I as a user is NOT interested in. I've had similar problem on my server. What version are you running for Zopelabs.com? The error message page was returned in text/plain for some reason so I copied it. What are you currently doing with the Version? ...if I may ask. Translating DTML into Python Script
by Andreas Pauley 11 Jun '01

11 Jun '01

Hi all, I would like to translate the following piece of DTML code into Python Script: <dtml-in "objectValues('Folder')"> <a href="<dtml-var id>"><dtml-var title_or_id></a><br> </dtml-in> What I would like to achieve is to loop through the objects returned by my Python Script: <dtml-in MyPythonScript> <a href="<dtml-var id>"><dtml-var title_or_id></a><br> </dtml-in> This is what I have tried so far on the Python side: objlist=[] for obj in context.objectValues('Folder'): objlist.append(obj) return objlist But when I try to loop through these results I get the following error: Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: __getitem__ I have also tried appending obj.id to the objlist, but that didn't solve the problem either. Do I have to return objects in a certain format/type before I can loop through it with DTML? The reason I would like to return my objects with Python is so that I can implement some logic as to what objects are returned, eg. only return DTML Documents that have id's containing certain characters etc. Thanks a lot, Andreas.

Z2.log erroneous timestamps very old bug report
by Felipe E. Barousse Boue 11 Jun '01

11 Jun '01

Hello: Can someone tell if the bug report # 1204, with a status of "TESTING" since May, 3rd 2000 has been already solved indeed. ? On the other hand, bug report # 1550 shows the same problem (wrong Z2.log timestamps) as COMPLETED since August 24, 2000...... My Zope systems still do have wrong timestamps on the Z2.log file It seems Zope is logging with GMT times but considering my system's time is set to Daylight savings which gives a 5 hour offset on the Z2.log Normal time (not daylight savings) should report a 6 hous offtset. I have seen several reports of this "issue" but not a concrete solution. I saw a patch to DateTime.py but done many many Zope versions ago, so I assume it has been incorporated into 2.3.2 already. The OS I am running is RedHat Linux 6.1 and 6.2 Any help and feedback would be greatly appreciated. Felipe Barousse

But i guess there'd be no way to have a > dynamically > growing number of binary data fields :-( Why not? This should be easily doable in zclasses, too. Just make a folderish object, i.e use ZFolder as base-class, and you can add as many object as you want. It's even possible to define which classes can be subobjects of your zclass (I think for that you must also use ZObjectManager as a base class). Am I anything missing here? cheers, oliver

Has anyone been able to get ZPyGreSQLDA to work under W2K? I have finally been able to compile the product and it has been a hit and miss process to get it to work.
