Hi, I know this is kinda OT and kinda cross-post, so sue me... hehe. You can't because I live in a land where sueing is as taboo as sex is in the US... Anyhow to the point. I have busted my balls for quite a long time now to get my company's website up and running... All in Zope. I'm pretty proud of it and I'd like to say thanks to all of you who have helped this newbie out with Zope 'the world's greatest hack'... (sorry, couldn't help myself on that one..) http://shop.oratrix.nl is the url. Hope you like my effort. thats great Andy. Will it work in reverse with the appropriate mods - so a document can be turned into a Method. Your help doc seems - uh, helpful - can you give me alittle applied help on how to actually make it work. Me = Novice. Help? ZGadflyDA product must be installed!

Hi, I've just installed Zope, and when, as the user (with manager authority) I created using the inituser account, I try to add the tutorial, I get the message: Error Type: Bad Request Error Value: The ZGadflyDA product must be installed! ZGadflyDA is in the Products list. It's in the right directory. Has the same permissions as other products. Can someone help me? Thanks, ==Leonard

Content-Type missing for uploads?

How can I get the Content-Type of a file that has been uploaded with a form? example: <form method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input type="file" name="myfile"> <input type="submit"> </form> when you upload a file with this form, the browser sends the Content-Type of "myfile" , the question is: How can I get that Content-Type information from zope? By the way, it's not REQUEST.CONTENT_TYPE, as this is set to multipart/form-data. any ideas?? Thanks Alex

Connecting a Zope-Server to a MySQL-Server

Hi! I'm trying to get a Zope-Server to work with a remote MySQL-Server (both Suse-Linux, but I could use Windows2000 as a Zope Server if necessary) - and that seems to be a hell of a problem. Until now everything went fairly easy, but now I seem to have to: - install Python 1.5 or greater first (how do I do that?) - ensure that I have MySQL installed on your machine, INCLUDING THE FILES AND LIBRARIES NECESSARY TO DEVELOP MySQL APPLICATIONS (but I don't know what these F&L's are and I need the MySQL-Server on a remote machine) - build Zope from source - download and install MySQLdb, a newer driver to MySQL than the one that comes with ZMySQLDA - patch ZMySQLDA: copy ZMySQLDA.patch to the top-level zope dir and then patch -p1 <ZMySQLDA.patch it (what does that mean?) zwiki install help

Ok, I have exhausted the help and archive documents... what is the deal with installing the zwiki product and zwikiwebs product? Can someone give me the exact steps and what version of zope and what version of python I need? I am not sure I follow the whole procedure, but I end up with broken object links when trying to add a wiki. But I am sure I am not installing things right. Sometimes to do the smallest of small things requires so much effort.. wow. Thank you. Sincerely, David

VersionLockError: version object no longer exists

While working through the tutorial and introductory exercises, I appear to have pointed myself into a corner. I worked some versioning examples and thought I had closed the version. I resumed my study and eventually returned to Zope to try adding a new object in the root folder. This resulted in a VersionLockError message and stack dump. I think I've figured out that this is a rather dramatic way of saying "this folder is locked by another version". I'm not sure how the root folder ended up locked, but it does show that icon. I then tried to undo my way out of the problem. This undid the creation of the version object, but not the objects locked by it. Now I can't get into the version, because the version does not exist. I tried creating a new version object by the same name and was able to do so but it did not end up being associated with the locked folder. It would be easy to simply uninstall Zope and reinstall it. I have nothing invested in the current configuration. But I am uneasy about the possibility of this happening later when I do have a site built and in production. I also suspect I will not be the last one bit by this problem.
