Python external method

Hi guys, I have a very simple python external function (id=thumbnail, module=thumb, function=thumbnail) ####!/usr/bin/python def thumbnail(infile,size): try: im = infile except IOError: print "cannot create thumbnail for", infile im2=im.thumbnail((size,size)) return im2 All this does is to take a file object and return the thumbnail of the image provided - fairly simple I hear you say - well, I can't seem to get the dtml required to call it. deleting objects from a dtml method

Hi, I've created a ZClass in a product and then written dtml methods that allow users to make new objects of the class using manage_addProduct.. and can edit the properties of a given object using manage_changeProperties. But I can't anywhere find the appropriate method call for deleting objects from their container via a dtml method, can anyone help? thanks in advance Sandy Britain

delete quote in strings

Hi, Does anyone know how to delete quotes in strings, for instance delete the quotes in: 'hello'. I tried to use string.replace but I don't get the syntax right. <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('var',_.string.replace(var,''','')"> Or maybe there's a better way? Thanks Frank Zorge

Localhost Zope ignoring new username/pwd (2)

Gave inituser as filename to store info, and gave new username/password at prompts. inituser now exists in the same subdirectory as zpasswd. But on booting Zope, it pays no attention to the new info and still won't let me in. Help? Kirby

I gotta admit, though I've had a soft spot in my heart for the Zope Studio thing, I'm stunned that it would be in front. Much less so *far* in front. Are these results an accurate reading of the sentiments -- that given the list of choices Andy presented, a Zope Studio is so much more popular than those choices!?! Wow. Let's try a different tack. Pretend there was a for-free Zope Studio and a for-fee Zope Studio. Let's say the difference was either like ActiveState's difference (personal use vs. professional use), or say the difference was in "Professional" capabilities. Does anyone think there would be any moderate-sized market for a for-fee version? How many of you would pay a few hundred bucks for a high-quality dev/authoring/admin environment for Zope? --Paul

Zope on Windows2000

Hi all, how does Zope work on Windows2000? Due to sudden "political and strategical" reasons, the operating system of choise for a large worldwide community site will be windows2000... (Microsoft visited some high governement official lately...) However, an existing website already exists, and is build in Zope... Now we have to choose for reimplementing the entire site using all Microsoft technology, or installing Zope on a Windows2000 server. Of course, I don't want Zope to blame, when the server goes down because of windows or has some windows-related securityholes in it... What is your experience with Zope on Windows2000? Some background: the site I am talking about is likely to be hacked by war-criminals... It is going to be the worldwide website for Sercurity, Peace and Justice (seated in and hosted by "Den Hague, Legal Capital") Some events in the past, where war-criminals hacked sites which contained the "wrong" publicity material makes me believe that... Furthermore, the site will be very large in terms of all kind of content, delivered by many participants. It is believed, and the intention that the site will serve many visitors from all around the world... So: what should I do? Rely on all-microsoft technology, run Zope on Windows2000, or forget about Zope in the first place for such a tricky project ? I apreciate any thoughts on this... Thanks a lot! Greetings, Antwan.
