Zope feature request to-be
by Peter Bengtsson 29 Mar '01

If this cannot be done, then I'll post it properly as a feature request. Is it possible to see when/how/if objects are being used? Sometimes I wonder to myself when I look through old code "is this image being used here or can I delete it??" I have heard of a program that looks through all of your static html files to find orphan images and files which are never referenced to. If I could only set a "watch" on an object, and ask it to "say hey" each time it is being used. Having that prepared I can then let the site run for a week or two and I will then have a descent answer whether the object is being used or not. If it was a DTML Document or Method or something similar I could stick in something in it to do this automatically. With images, can I not search for them in the logs? Or does that not work if the id of the images are like this: image_gif?? Peter

folders recursively

Hi Zopists, I would like to call some DTML method on all Folders in my ZODB. I think the best way should be recursion but I do not know how to do it in DTML. Please, can you help me, or do you know any HOW-TO etc? I have found nothing. Petr PS I need it for Zope 2.1.6 and 2.3.0 also -- Petr Knápek NEXTRA Czech Republic, s.r.o., Hlinky 114, 603 00 Brno, Czech Republic e-mail: mailto:petr.knapek@nextra.cz tel:+420-5-43 554 150 FAX:+420-5-43 554 214

Shahzad Saleem writes: > Whats the best way to display the contents of of DTML Documents within a > dtml tree?? The "tree" command is for the interactive display of hierarchical information. Does your DTML Document contain such hierarchical information? Then, you will need a corresponding "branches" or "branches_expr" attribute. Or do you want to display the content of leaf (!) DTML documents? Then, you will need a "leaves" (or so) attribute. Take a look at URL:http://www.dieter.handshake.de/pyprojects/zope/book/chap3.html to find out more. Dieter

I'll assume you mean .csv This sounds like a job for VB or PyCOM if you want to do it programmatically. If you are just using Access, Create a new database and the appropriate tables. Then choose 'Get External Data' from the File menu. .CSV is one of the menu options. Hi Zopists, I recall seeing a product that defined alternative tags like <% .... %> Anybody recall what this product was called, and any experience of it? Thanks Dave

Directories and subdirectories....

Hello again... :) In my example, below, the paremeter is a folder... but it only works (list the objects) if the folder is in the root directory, else doesn`t work. I tried things like 'directory/parameter' or 'directory.parameter' but didn`t work. <dtml-in expr="_.getitem('parameter').objectValues()"> </dtml-in> Thank you. -- --Ricardo Kohler Costa ________________________________________________ Don't E-Mail, ZipMail! http://www.zipmail.com/

Hmm, couldn't you do something like http://www.zope.org/Members/kusako/AdvancedCataloging explains? i.e. just add a method to you zclass which converts the multiple selection property into the right type and returns that? And the just add the name of that method as a keyword index. cheers, oliver
