I've installed zope on OSX and it seems to be running fine, but I don't have a username and password. I tried /usr/local/bin/python2.0 zpasswd.py u=me p=password but zope still doesn't let me in. thanks tom

Tracker Product available ?

Hello Zopers, is there a Product called Tracker like the issue tracker seen on the Zope homepage ? If I search Tracker AND Product, nothing similar is found. Is this product closed to Zope ? mysql da broken product

Hi, I am trying to install the ZMySQLDA v. 2.0.5 . I untar the file, restart zope, and then do not have the product available to add. I go to the products list under control panel and click on the product because it says its a broken product. Any help would be appreciated! Debugging MySQLDA

Hi Yet another MySQLDA newbie question :-) Is there a way to get some debug information from MySQLDA? My problem is that select * from mytable always produces nothing from a table containing data (verified by talking with the mysql server directly). It doesn't matter if I test it via the test method on the connection or via a ZSQL method. Please help yet another MySQLDA newbie :-) /P

Can not display 'Next' and 'Previous' records!!!!!!

This problem troubled me for few weeks, i really dont know what and where is goin wrong below is my dtml to display the Previous record <dtml-in b previous size=5 start=query_start> <td ><font class="next25"> <a href="<dtml-var URL><dtml-var sequence-query >query_start=<dtml-var previous-sequence-start-number>" style="text-decoration:none"> Previous <dtml-var previous-sequence-size> record(s)<< </a> </font></td> </dtml-in> 'b' is my search sql method, because i got 2 searching key so i have to create 3 search sql method to search my record inorder to select one from these 3 sql methods i used dtml to select from 3 search sql methods, as follow: <dtml-with "Search"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('b','')"> *assign a variable 'b' <dtml-if "_['custname']!='' and _['custid']==''"> * if custname is not empty and custid is empty <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('b', sqlSearchcust3)"> * assign b as sql method named 'sqlSearchcust3' <dtml-elif "_['custid']!='' and _['custname']==''"> * if custid is not empty and custname is empty <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('b', sqlSearchcust2)"> * assign b as sql method named 'sqlSearchcust2' <dtml-elif "_['custid']!='' and _['custname']!=''"> * if custid is not empty and custname is not empty <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('b', sqlSearchcust)"> * assign b as sql method named 'sqlSearchcust' <dtml-elif "_['custid']=='' and _['custname']==''"> <dtml-var "searchallcust"> * call the sql method which select all records. </dtml-if> </dtml-with> so far it can return the correct result for me, but i'm not sure whether is this function affect my Previous record please let me know my problem as soon as possible.

Dimitris, <dtml-in "['Jim', 'Alan', 'Bob']"> hello <dtml-var sequence-item> </dtml-in> NOTE: the <dtml-in "PYTHON EXPRESSIONS ARE IN QUOTATIONS"> also note how sequence-item is NOT in quotes, the sequence-item variable is understood in the DTML namespace but not in the python namespace. if you tried <dtml-var "sequence-item">, your essentially saying, print sequence - item and you will get a NameError. try this: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('sequence', 2)"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('item', 1)"> <dtml-var "sequence-item"> sequence=2 item=1 print sequence - item <dtml-with friends>  <dtml-in ['Jim', 'Alan', 'Bob']>  <dtml-var sequence-item>  </dtml-in> please look at the <a href="http://www.zope.org/Members/michel/ZB/">ZOPE book</a>. its full of goodies. you kinda have to learn a little about python to be productive in ZOPE (dont worry Python is the easiest language I've encountered), but you will constantly trip over Python vs DTML (hurdle 1) and then mastering The Namespace (hurdle 2), then armed with that you can work on your Acquisition (hurdle 3, which cant be fully understood w/o the previous 2 steps, IMO). ~runyaga

External program execution - simple solution?

I want to execute my logfile analyzer from within Zope and then access the result files through LocalFS. The latter part is very easy, of course, and works fine, but is there a simple solution to executing an external program? (lying under INSTANCE_HOME) Thank you very much in advance, Danny

List of objects

Hi, I trying to make a list of objects in a method, to use in a dtml-in. Something simple like: <dtml-in ['Jim', 'Nick', 'John']> Hello <dtml-var id>, how are you ?<br> </dtml-in> but it won't work :-( a) Does this possibility exist ? Or do I have to use documents ? I know that, if I have documents with ids Jim, Nick & John in a folder (say "friends") this will work: <dtml-with friends> <dtml-in ['Jim', 'Nick', 'John']> Hello <dtml-var id>, how are you ? </dtml-in> </dtml-with> ...but its not what I want. I've been looking all over, but didn't find anything. Maybe its a Python syntax I need ? (I don't know python, but its on my plans). b) If such a syntax does exist, what's the var containing the list item ? id ? or sth else ? Thx, Dimitris @ Nuclear

Hi. Do I need to cast or something like that to make this? Because the parameter is an object, but zope treats like a string. Ex.: <dtml-in "REQUEST['parametro'].objectValues()"> The REQUEST['parametro'] is a folder. Thank you.
