Hi, I have had several requests for this reference. As pointed out to me >> script delimiters in ASP/IIS, not really tags. and they are not <% %> delimiters but <: ... :> http://www.zope.org/Members/Coventry/dtml_shortcut Enjoy Dave

Hi all, I am getting an error when I query a ZCatalog. I'm working using ZPatterns with Zope 2.3.1b3 (source release, python 1.5.2, linux2), Python Version 1.5.2, System Platform freebsd4. Error Type: ValueError Error Value: __nonzero__ should return >= 0 Here is the scenerio leading to the problem. 1. Create an object in a rack with newItem() Search ZCatalog for the item and it is found. 2. Delete the item Search ZCatalog for the item and the error is produced. Updating or Clearing the catalog resolves the problem. Here is the Skinscript method I use with the Catalog. WHEN OBJECT ADDED CALL ProjectCatalog.catalog_object(self, _.string.join(self.getPhysicalPath(),'/')) WHEN OBJECT DELETED CALL ProjectCatalog.uncatalog_object(_.string.join(self.getPhysicalPath(),'/')) WHEN OBJECT CHANGED CALL ProjectCatalog.uncatalog_object(_.string.join(self.getPhysicalPath(),'/')), ProjectCatalog.catalog_object(self, _.string.join(self.getPhysicalPath(),'/')) Another thing, after I edit the item it is no longer indexed in the catalog. Is this another version of the key error issue? I do no longer remember when the "SQL-Alias" memory leak has been fixed (---> searchable mailing list archives). I think it was after 2.3.0. Maybe this leak causes your problems. If not, do you know the debug section in Zope's control panel. If the problem comes from an Python application fault (rather than C extensions), then the reference counts there may give you a hint. Search in ZCatalog
by Antonio João Costa 29 Mar '01

Hello again. I'm having some trouble using the searchResults(...) method from ZCatalog. 1) If I want to find NewsItem and search for News ZCatalog doesn't find it. I must explicitly find for NewsItem for Zope to find it. Is there any way to use wildcards? 2) I don't know how to distinguish between AND and OR searches. If I introduce the search items in a list, Zope performs an OR search. Thanks, Antonio Costa -- URL: http://www.terravista.pt/Enseada/1831 http://accosta.planetaclix.pt http://students.fct.unl.pt/~anjc PT is Portugal ####### # # # #" #" # Linux ##vvvvv## Rules! ## vvv ## # ## ## ## ### ### +++##### ##++ ++++++# #++++++ +++++++# #+++++++ +++++#######+++++ +++ +++ "Perfection is achieved, not when there's nothing else to add, but when there's nothing else to take away."

After Dark writes: > Do I need to do a cast or something like that to make this? > Because the parameter is an object, but zope treats like a > string. > <dtml-in "REQUEST['parametro'].objectValues()"> Although not impossible, it is very unlikely that "REQUEST['parametro']" is itself an object. Almost surely, it is the name of an object (not the object itself). Whenever you have an expression that evaluates to an object name (in your case "REQUEST['parametro']"), you can use the function "_.getitem" to turn the name into the corresponding object. In your case: <dtml-in "_.getitem(REQUEST['parametro']).objectValues()"> More details: "Name lookup" section of URL:http://www.dieter.handshake.de/pyprojects/zope/book/chap3.html Dieter

Peter Bengtsson writes: > <dtml-try> > <dtml-call "manage_delObjects('objectid')"> > <dtml-except> > bad day! > </dtml-try> > ... catches "Unauthorized" ... The easiest solution it to protect the object, that contains this code. Then accessing this object will already require authentication and "manage_delObjects" will not need to issue another exception (for this). Dieter

Obviously, this is a JavaScript question. At your place, I would look into a JavaScript book or one of the brilliant JavaScript online resources (I live in Germany, and there, "http://www.teamone.de" has such a site). Dieter

Anton A. Zotov writes: > Would anybody be so kind to suggest how to remove that user (I'd prefer > working variant) Seems that you are a bit lazy? Whenever you can do something through the management interface, there is source around (a DTML object) that does this. It provides you with a working variant.... You need just to look for it. The DTML objects are located in the "dtml" subfolders or the various Zope components, something like: <Zope dist>/lib/python/OFS/dtml/* Dieter
