Lack of docs:How to delete user from Python script ?
by Anton A. Zotov 28 Mar '01

28 Mar '01

Greetings, respective sages ! Only you, who has been living for centuries, are able to solve the problem: I can successfully add user to acl_user folder by means of commands: ......... req=context.REQUEST .......... userFolder.manage_users('Add', req, req.RESPONSE) I don't say it's the clearest way, but at least it works... Would anybody be so kind to suggest how to remove that user (I'd prefer working variant) Thanx a big big bunch :-) Anton

Searching -- This should be fun
by z9b8j 28 Mar '01

28 Mar '01

Hello all, Here is one for the masses. I have created a site, sort of like ASPs, where dtml methods call other methods. For example I would have index_html, which looks like this "<dtml-var st_header> <dtml-var st_student_main> <dtml-var st_sidebar> <dtml-var st_footer>" call "st_student_main" which would just contain the text such as: "This is the student page<br> What is going on<br>" Every method is called this way, with one method, containing all the specifications needed, calling another method just containing the text. My question, Is there a way to search the text but have the link pointing to the appropriate method containing the specifications needed? Or in other words search "st_student_main" but have the returning link point to "index_html" Thanks Eric

by Gitte Wange 28 Mar '01

Hello, I am working on this media streaming web application and I thought it would be a lot easier to use Zope building it, than just ordinary PHP scripts. But I guess I was wrong .. :-) How on earth do you get PHP code into Zope ?? I just verified that the UNC path names work if the security is applied properly to the LocalFS Add entry. >From your UNC path it looks like you may be specifying the path incorrectly. You should be pointing LocalFS at a folder name, not a filename. \\server\sharepoint\folder or \\server\sharepoint Pointing to a filename results in: Error Type: OSError Error Value: [Errno 267] Unknown error Which is invalid directory, because the filename is not a directory. >>>-----Original Message----- >>>From: Joel Burton [mailto:jburton@scw.org] >>>Sent: Wednesday, March 28, 2001 9:59 AM >>>To: ASHISHRANJAN_V >>>Cc: zope(a)zope.org >>>Subject: RE: [Zope] LocalFS product >>> >>> >>>On Wed, 28 Mar 2001, ASHISHRANJAN_V wrote: >>> >>>> I regret , I could not put the complete information in my >>>previous mail. >>>> Zope runs on WIN2k/ Windows Nt . Error 267 is NT code for: The directory name is invalid. ERROR_DIRECTORY So you are using a bad pathname in your call. Could be a permissions problem maybe. Try mapping to the share from the command prompt or explorer and see if it works/fails/challenges. I regret , I could not put the complete information in my previous mail. Zope runs on WIN2k/ Windows Nt . The shared file is on an windows workstation. I have given \\computername\sharename\filename as path And Windows domain name and password for accessing the file . Still it gives the error : Error Type: OSError Error Value: [Errno 267] Unknown error. I do not know the behavior of LocalFS product on Windows NT/2K OS . Is there any document that can help on this. Thanks Ashish R Vidyarthi mailto:ashishranjan_v@infy.com -----Original Message----- From: Joel Burton [mailto:jburton@scw.org] Sent: Wednesday, March 28, 2001 9:00 PM To: ASHISHRANJAN_V Cc: zope(a)zope.org Subject: Re: [Zope] LocalFS product On Wed, 28 Mar 2001, ASHISHRANJAN_V wrote: > Hello , > I am a newbie . For Unix & Unixesque systems: Does the user that Zope runs as have permission to get to that folder and examine its contents? I run on Linux, and run Zope as 'nobody'. I can test that nobody can get to the LocalFS system by # su nobody $ cd /path/to/local/fs $ ls Can you do this? -- Joel Burton <jburton(a)scw.org> Director of Information Systems, Support Center of Washington
