case insensitive searches
by Jonathan Cheyne 26 Mar '01

26 Mar '01

Hi Got a keyword index setup for searching - it's currently case sensitive. Given that the creation of keywords is 'free', I have a nice mixture of upper and lower case. Sometimes it is genuinely appropriate: London, or Ken Livingstone ... other times less so: Begging or Youth. Is it possible to amend this behavior to return both upper and lower case results? Cheers Jonathan Cheyne www.homeless.org.uk

Install ZPatterns&EMarket.
by Pattreeya Tanisaro 26 Mar '01

26 Mar '01

Hello again, any of you has the experience in installing ZPattern? I would like to try Emarket product but it requires ZPattern. Then, I installed ZPattern but the error occured during import module as the following ..... File /home/pattreeya/Zope-2.3.0//lib/python/Products/ZPatterns/DataSkins.py, line 1, in ? ImportError: No module named DynPersist. I have checked and found that DynPersist is in c format. And no Makefile inside the product or whatever related to c file. I have check inside /lib/python to look for the config or Makefile but I found nothing save only one Makefile.pre.in in ZMySQLDA. The information from "Setup" in .../ZPatterns contains only *shared* DynPersist DynPersist.c -I../../ZODB -I../../../Components/ExtensionClass At this point, i have no idea what to do next. Currently, I use Zope2.3.0 and Zpatterns-0.4.3b1. Thank you in advance for any help. pattreeya.

RE: [Zope] Bug in Zope 2.3.1b3 PythonScripts (I think)
by Mayers, Philip J 26 Mar '01

26 Mar '01

There's already a similar bug in: http://classic.zope.org:8080/Collector/2094/view However, I have some info to add: This happens on context.dtml_method() as well as container.property I can't reproduce this next thing, since the app server is running, but I think that this happened: When downgrading to 2.3.0 and re-importing the .zexp file, it *still* happened until I edited the PythonScript (just added a blank line). Now, I'm by no means sure of this, since I 'fixed' it almost straight away, but I'm pretty sure it happened - maybe the ZODB storage format, or the compiling of the PythonScripts? Should I submit another item to the collector? It seems something has been broken between b1 and b2. Rendering ones Own Error Message
by karthick ramanarayanan 26 Mar '01

26 Mar '01

Hi, I want to render my own error message when the user attempts to traverse an incorrect URL instead of the Zope Error Message. The Zope Error Message gets displayed on a notFoundError exception under the HTTPResponse.py. Is it possible to use the standard_error_message dtml-method which is automatically generated by zope in the root folder to display my own error message? If so,please refer to the procedure/changes required. Thanks in advance. Bye, A.R.K -- Windows Sucks!!Linux Rules!!!.

Running Zope with apache - login not possible
by Gitte Wange 26 Mar '01

26 Mar '01

Hello, I have followed a how-to from zope.org to setup Zope with apache as webserver. It seems that apache actually finds out that Zope is running, but when I enter the /manage directory and tries to login with thaé username and password from the installation, login fails. Anyone who have had the same problem and knows what is wrong ? Z Class problem
by Kenneth Ellested 26 Mar '01

26 Mar '01

I'm trying to make a list of available properties in a Z Class like: list = [] for x in context.Control_Panel.Products.MyProduct.MyZClassItem.propertysheets.common. MySheet1.propertyIds(): list.append(x) list.sort() return list This works fine _IF_ the ZClass are located in the root of the product. However I'd like to put this class inside another ZClass. But then I get into problems when trying to find the "path" to the propertysheet. Like (NOT working): context.Control_Panel.Products.MyProduct.MyZClassContainer.MyZClassItem.prop ertysheets.common.MySheet1.propertyIds(): I've tryed with everything in the path, methods, common, methods['MyZClassItem'] etc. - I can't figure it out... HELP ! Regards

[SybDA+Solaris]Connection closed randomly
by Tony Moutaux 26 Mar '01

26 Mar '01

Hi folks ! I run Zope on several platforms. One of them give me a little problem: Sybase v12.0 +Zope2.3.0 + Sun E450 with Solaris 2.7 + SybaseDA v2.0b2 + Python1.5.2 (all recompile and freshly installed). When I run the same system on Linux : no problem. But with the Sun, the Sybase DA closed randomly and don't want to reopen the connection (or can't ?). I just have to restart the Zope Server to have the Sybase DA rerun correctly. 1-Has anybody run Sybase v12.0 + Zope correctly on Sun ? 2-Has anybody got the same problem previously ? 3-How can I log problems from Sybase DA (Is there a Python/Zope "stderr" that I can use ?) Any suggestion (other than" Run on Linux" because I know, but the System Administrator won't) ? Thanks. Tony
