Overlap
by Ron Baum 28 Feb '01

I am using dtml-in's batch features and noticed that I am getting an overlap of the last item to the top of the next batch. I changed the overlap attribute to 0 and I still get the overlap. Is there anything else that I need to do to make this work? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------- Ron Baum Database Engineer Accelerated Technology, Inc. 720 Oak Circle Dr East Mobile, AL 36609 Email: rbaum(a)atinucleus.com http://www.acceleratedtechnology.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------- "Nucleus. RE: [Zope] DTML documents as properties of python product classes
by Keith Alperin 28 Feb '01

Thank you so much for your response. Unfortunately, this didn't seem to work. If I comment out the last line of the function (return self.vote_results(self, self.REQUEST)) and restart Zope, then the product loads successfully. I also tried the following variations: return self.vote_results(self, REQUEST) and return self.vote_results(self) neither seemed to work. Any more help that someone could provide would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks again, Keith -----Original Message----- From: Randall F. Kern [mailto:randy@spoke.net] Sent: Monday, February 26, 2001 8:38 PM To: Keith Alperin; Zope(a)zope.org Subject: RE: [Zope] DTML documents as properties of python product classes That message probably means there is a syntax error. If you select your product in the control panel, it will show you the details. As for using the DTML document, you will need to call it at the end of your function: return self.vote_results(self, self.REQUEST) -Randy -----Original Message----- From: Keith Alperin [mailto:KAlperin@ignitemedia.com] Sent: Monday, February 26, 2001 5:51 PM To: Zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] DTML documents as properties of python product classes Greetings Zope folks. I am a bit of a newbie here and am attempting to use a DTML document as a property of a class of a python product. To do so, I have done the following (using the TutorialPoll as my example): #...snip vote_results = Globals.HTMLFile("vote_results", globals()) def castVote(self, choice): "Votes for a choice" vote_count = self.getVotesFor(choice) self._votes[choice] = vote_count + 1 return self.vote_results #the rest of my class Upon restarting Zope, I get "(This object from the TutorialPoll product is broken!)" next to my object in the management interface. Any incite that any of you can provide would be most appreciated. Thanks so much, Keith R. Alperin

How to check for a folder's existence and create it if it doesn't exist?
by Chris Muldrow 28 Feb '01

28 Feb '01

I'm trying create a method to go through a site and create certain folders if they don't already exist. I can check for the existence of the folders with this: <dtml-in expr="objectValues('Folder')"> <dtml-if "id=='2001'"> It matches<p> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> But how do I craft the "else" to create the folder? Obviously, if I throw the <dtml-else> inside the "in" loop, it'll throw itself into the "else" action for every iteration where it doesn't find the named folder. -- Chris Muldrow, muldrow(a)mac.com

FYI, I've seen this too, and it seems to be related to ConflictErrors with my system also. -Randy > -----Original Message----- > From: Juan Carlos Coruña [mailto:jcoruna@ibdosnorte.com] > Sent: Wednesday, February 28, 2001 7:41 AM > To: zope(a)zope.org > Subject: RE: [Zope] Problems with Core Session Tracking > > > Yes, I get fewer errors with the external container and I'm > trying to monitor the ConflictErrors and the sessioning > errors to estabilish a relationship. > It seems that they are related. Bug Report : Problems with Pictures
by Ian Thomas 28 Feb '01

28 Feb '01

I ran into a problem with uploading images into existing image objects. I have looked in the changes list for version 2.3.1beta but didn't see this problem listed. System Information I am running Zope 2.3.0 on Windows 2000. I uploaded a picture and called it 55Ford. (a jpg file) I changed the picture and uploaded the changes. I could not view the changed picture. I tired again thinking this is strange and still view showed the OLD (original) image. I delete the image object from zope and recreated it with the same name. I still saw the OLD (original) image! I create an image with a different name 55Ford2 and uploaded it and was able to view the EDITED image. Even stranger when I renamed the 55Ford2 object 55Ford and viewed it I saw the old image and when I renamed it back to 55Ford2 and viewed it I saw the new edited image. Please take a look. If you can't duplicate the problem email me for more details. Ian

RE: [Zope] Python script and dtml-with

Muchos Gracias Evan. It makes a bunch more sense now. If not, please explain why it > is not needed. Thanks in advance. "dtml-with" is a tool for putting names on the namespace stack, which is critical for DTML, since the namespace stack is the source of all names. Python, on the other hand, doesn't use DTML namespaces, although it can manipulate them like any other data structure. It doesn't need them, since it can easily create a local variable. Example: <dtml-with expr="foo.bar.controller()"><dtml-var x><dtml-var y></dtml-with> This really means "put 'foo.bar.controller()' on the namespace stack, ask the namespace stack for 'x' and 'y', then pop the stack, but the person who wrote it was probably thinking "get 'x' and 'y' from foo.bar.controller()". In this case, the following Python works: fbc = foo.bar.controller() print fbc.x print fbc.y Cheers, Evan @ digicool & 4-am
