Did it once more to check after your quick response to my post (thanks). Tried it again with python zpasswd.py inituser. Same problem. User home directories
by Joel Burton 01 Mar '01

01 Mar '01

We have a /homes folder where I intend to allow LAN users to have their own home directories. So, for this folder, I've changed permission so that "Owner" can see management views, edit DTML, add DTML, Folders, images, etc. Then, as each user, I create a folder for them (so that they own it.) They now can manage their folders, edit, etc. perfectly. [ with the oddity that Add ODBC Connection always shows up, BTW. It seems to have a wrong permission setting. ] My users can "Add User Folder", so they can add an acl_users folder so that they can create private areas, etc.; however, they *can't* seem to edit the user's directly: clicking on the acl_users only shows them the Undo/Security options, not the contents tab of acl_users. By directly entering the URL, they can get to the contents tab, and add/edit users. However, I can't figure out how my users can change the permissions of subfolders in their home directory. When they get into a intended-to-be-private subdir, and ask to see the permissions for it (so that they could take View away from Anon), they see the permission categories but EVERYTHING is unchecked. Am I doing something wrong? Is this a bug in this version (2.3.0/Windows)? Is there a document somewhere that describes user folders in a non-portal environment? Problems copying Zclass instance
by Paolo Bizzarri 01 Mar '01

01 Mar '01

Hi everyone, I have found a really strange problem. I have a Zclass instance that cannot be copied and/or imported. Scanning through the code, this seems to be a permission related problem (i.e., the Zclass do not have the correct permission set). However, there is little help in the documentation. Someone can help ? Many thanks Paolo -- Paolo Bizzarri Icube S.r.l.

Attributes and tags (dtml)
by Antonio Costa 01 Mar '01

01 Mar '01

Hi there. To anyone who can help me. I've having some trouble with dtml tags and attributes in the following situation. If I do something like <dtml-var resSize_q> I have no trouble and the result appears just right. But if I use it in another way like <dtml-in Catalog size=<dtml-var resSize_q> start=query_start> the following error appears in Zope: Invalid attribute name, "resSize_q", for tag <dtml-in Catalog size=<dtml-var resSize_q>, on line... I can't seem to figure out where's the trouble. siteroot, img spit out bad html...
by Graham Bakay 01 Mar '01

01 Mar '01

Hi, hope this hasn't already been covered. My siteroot prints out the following: <base href="http://www.bitmap.net/" /> Similarly, images come out: <img src="http://www.bitmap.net/title_png" alt="root title" height="44" width="274" /> Both have a pesky '/>' at the end. That slash is not syntactically correct. How do I get rid of it? graham.

Re: [Zope] Why require "Manager" for changing Z SQL Method?

I even gave > it to Anonymous and it wouldn't go. This came up recently in the list. I think, this is a bug. I use my DocFinder product URL:http://www.dieter.handshake.de/pyprojects/zope/DocFinder.html to analyse the problem: while "manage_edit" correctly follows the "Change Database" permission, "manage_main" is fixed to "Manager" while it should depend on "View Management screens". I do not yet know, why this is the case. Maybe, DTMLFile objects define a "__roles__" attribute with role "Manager". > Does someone have a quicky patch/kludge to > get around this for awhile? Newbie question: I am trying to make a simple modification to this Breadcrumbs example: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('rev', [])"> <dtml-in PARENTS skip_unauthorized> <dtml-let item=sequence-item> <dtml-call "rev.insert(0, item)"> </dtml-let> </dtml-in> <dtml-in rev> <dtml-with sequence-item> <a href="<dtml-var absolute_url>"> <dtml-if "hasProperty('nickname')"><dtml-var nickname><dtml-else><dtml-var title_or_id></dtml-if></a> </dtml-with> <dtml-unless sequence-end> >  </dtml-unless> </dtml-in> I would like to start the Breadcrumbs trail not at the root folder, but 1, 2 or 3 levels below the root folder.
