DocFinder 0.2: asking Zope about its documentation
by Dieter Maurer 13 Feb '01

13 Feb '01

DocFinder is a small Zope product that displays the available documentation for Zope objects. More information and download at: URL:http://www.dieter.handshake.de/pyprojects/zope/DocFinder.html This release 0.2 fixes a Zope 2.2 incompatibility (it uses now HTMLFile rather than DTMLFile) and makes it clearer how to get documentation for objects that are not URL addressable. Can't login as superuser (or anyone else!)
by michael＠distractor.com 13 Feb '01

I know this question has come up before, but none of the other responses quite fit my situation, so I'm bringing it up again. My first zope install was on Win2K and everything went fine -- got set up, logged in, started working. No problem. Now I am setting up Zope on a RedHat 6.2 server, using Zope-2.3.0-1.i386.rpm Zope-pcgi-2.3.0-1.i386.rpm Apache 1.3.12 Everything installed fine. Browser displays the options page accessible through /cgi-bin/Zope.cgi, but when I try to access /manage and login using the superuser account with the default '123' password, the login fails. I've changed the password using zpasswd.py and restarted Zope. Also changed the password editing 'access' directly (and restarted Zope) Restarted httpd (just for luck). Each time, the login fails. Any ideas? Michael Tamblyn michael(a)distractor.com

Re: [Zope] Nested dtml-with issue....

This method probably will use a "dtml-in" to iterate over the folders content. Then you can use "<dtml-with sequence-item"> to open up the current folder. Dieter

Re: [Zope] [OT] Timing out Zope by Apache/ProxyPass

I also wanted to know that some time ago. From my skimming through the source-comments (apache 1.3.9) I think modproxy has no own timeout-handler, it uses a global one. But couldn't you use the ErrorDocument directive to throw up an error for any Proxy-Error? i.e. ErrorDocument 502 /localdocument/my_lame_excuse.html Hmm, just checked, apache 1.3.9 seems not send anything if a timout occurs. At least just opening a port on localhost with netcat and letting apache connect to that didn't throw any error at all )-, it just closed the connection after timeout and IE threw a popup error. Bad. At least I can confirm that indeed the global parameter "timeout" is also responsible for mod_proxy's timout handling. cheers, oliver

DTML-WITH
by Rubinstein Fredrik 13 Feb '01

13 Feb '01

Hi there, I have built an class and added entries in that class. Now I want to use a list of that class in an other location in my Zope application. However I can not get the dtml-with tag to work. <TR><TH>Project</TH> <TD><SELECT name="projekt"> <DTML-WITH "http://localhost:8080/Jan_proj/Projekt/Projekten"> <DTML-IN "objectValues(['projekt Add'])"> <OPTION value='<dtml-var projekt_id>'><dtml-var projekt_id></option> </DTML-IN> </DTML-WITH> </SELECT> </TD> </TR> I know that the code above does not work. Can anyone give me clues obout how to write the with clause. With kind regards. Fredrik

Simplified question repeat..Date - to - String
by Schmidt, Allen J. 13 Feb '01

13 Feb '01

I need to use year() as a string value in a <dtml-with yearVar> type of thing. The folder's id is 2001 I need to use dtml-with to get to that folder. If I use the folder name of 2001 it works fine. If I use the variable name in the dtml-with, it does not work. Looking into ZCatalogs for the future but need a quick fix for this now. Any suggestions? Thanks...this date stuff is real pain.

KDE's Konqueror
by Milos Prudek 13 Feb '01

13 Feb '01

Hi, Zope management screens cannot be used with Konqueror (http://www.kde.org) Konqueror always renders the page itself instead of it's management screen. Is it a Konqueror fault? I'd like to file a problem report, because Netscape is a royal pain when compared to Konqueror. -- Milos Prudek

Log Files.
by Jason C. Leach 13 Feb '01

13 Feb '01

hi, If I want zope to create a log file for each virtual domain, muts I have Apache out front to keep seporate logs files for each of the domains. Also, has anyone had success with any programs like Webalizer and Zope? I see the biggest problem being getting the output of webalizer into zope. Thanks, j. ...................... ..... Jason C. [OT] Timing out Zope by Apache/ProxyPass
by Dieter Maurer 13 Feb '01

13 Feb '01

We run Zope behind Apache/ProxyPass. Out client wants that a problem page pops up when Zope does not respond or takes too a long time to respond. I thought this should be easy with ProxyPass. However, my colleague was unable to find corresponding documentation. Does anybody know whether ProxyPass can timeout its connections? Dieter
