Did you read about the via-patch? The address is http://www.zope.org/Members/unfo/apache_zserver_ssl. RE: Printing DTML documents from PythonScripts

Forget it - figured it out (RTFM...): __call__(client=None, REQUEST={}, RESPONSE=None, **kw): So: context.standard_html_header(context,REQUEST) The funny thing is, I answered someone's query the other day by quoting the DTML __call__ syntax. Doh! Nested dtml-with issue....
by Schmidt, Allen J. 13 Feb '01

13 Feb '01

ROOT /News /Web /2001 (will vary with year) /022001 (will vary with monthyear) /02132001 (will vary with daymonthyear) Inside the News folder is a DTML method which digs down the folder structure to build a single web page with news summaries from the stories contained in the last folder. Using something like this works: <dtml-with News> <dtml-with web> <dtml-with 2001> <dtml-with 022001> <dtml-with 02132001> <dtml-var summaries> (which is a method in the News folder back at the top) </dtml-with> </dtml-with> </dtml-with> </dtml-with> </dtml-with> All this works..... but... Obviously, we don't want to have hard coded dates. What would be the exact syntax to get the string value of the year, then the monthyear then daymonthyear so that referring to the year in the dtml-with would produce the same effect. Have tried MANY variations of date manipulation to get the string value but always wind up with keyerrors when referencing the folder using the new date variable. Thanks very much Allen

Printing DTML documents from PythonScripts
by Mayers, Philip J 13 Feb '01

I've got a complex for processing application I'd like to implement in PythonScripts rather than DTML. Ideally, like this: PythonScript index_html: print context.standard_html_header() # do lots of complex processing if not finished: print context.submission_form() else: context.REQUEST.RESPONSE.redirect('done_html?id='+id) return '' print context.standard_html_footer() return printed *But*, the standard_html_header/footer contain some complex stuff, including a navigation bar and user-configurable stuff. Amongst other errors, I get this: Error Type: KeyError Error Value: BASE1 Clearly, the DTML method has no namespace passed to it, so can't find variables such as BASE1, and other Zope folders/methods. I *have* the REQUEST and context objects in the python script - how do I pass them into the DTML method? Don't tell me to use a DTML method that calls out to a PythonScript please! - I have numerous reasons for not wanting to do this :o) Regards, Phil +----------------------------------+ | Phil Mayers, Network Support | | Centre for Computing Services | | Imperial College | +----------------------------------+

Missing usingWithEmacs Howto
by Andreas Tille 13 Feb '01

13 Feb '01

Hello, the Howto http://www.zope.org/Members/nemeth/usingEmacsWith is missing from the Zope site. I have a copy of this document on my local disk but I'm missing the images learningzope-zopedevenv.png learningzope-emacs.png which possibly solve my problem, which is the following: I can read Objects into Emacs but can not save the edited DTML text. I'm sure that the problem described in Before using emacs with your Zope repository you should be aware of that 1. You cannot use version objects via FTP. If you open a file stored in Zope with emacs it is always opened outside of any version object. If someone changed a document in a version, and you open that document, you will get the original version, but you cannot save your changes. doesn't occure because there isn't any other user on my offline box, which I used for testing. Any hint what might go wrong here? Kind regards Andreas.

Solution for ERROR(200) ZServer Cannot write PID file when used INSTANCE_HOME
by Grégoire Weber 13 Feb '01

13 Feb '01

Hi Evan, Hi all, I made a cc to the zope list because other people could encounter the same problem and I couldn't find anything appropriate about the solution in the list. I tried to make my life easier with INSTANCE_HOME as described in http://www.zope.org/Members/4am/instancehome. All seems to work fine. But Zope displays the following error on startup: 2001-02-13T09:41:49 ERROR(200) ZServer Cannot write PID file. After some searching I know what happend. I _moved_ the whole var directory to my INSTANCE_HOME so zope couldn't write the pcgi.pid to the disappeared var directory anymore. So I propose to mention the fact in your the How-To that at least a empty var directory has to remain in the original zope installation. This note applies to Zope 2.3.0 (and possibly to former versions too) on a NT4SP6us machine. Greetings, Greg P.S.: Sorry about my emglish. It's not my mother tongue! _____________________________________ Grégoire Weber mailto:gregoire.weber@switzerland.org

uploading mutltiple files
by Lee 13 Feb '01

13 Feb '01

Hi, Could someone tell me if it is possible to upload *mutliple* files using, for example, <input type="file" name="file" enctype="multipart/form-data"> to a zope directory? I've got an app built and I'd like to add a facility for a individual user record system displaying every user's photograph as appropriate. My university's security system maintains a database of students and their photographs and indexes them similarly to how my app has been designed. At the moment, these pictures (GIFs) are on another server. I can access them this way but I'd like a facility to 'grab' these photos and store them in Zope directory. Is it possible to create an interface for a user (not via the zope admin screens) to select multiple files from this location (like holding down 'CTRL' while selecting them) and uploading (or should that be 'transferring' them)? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks a lot, Lee

Try setting a REQUEST variable like so: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('expand_all',_.int(1)"> before you call your tree tag ----- Original Message ----- From: "Francois-regis Chalaoux" <Francois-regis.Chalaoux(a)sanofi-synthelabo.com> To: <zope(a)zope.org> Sent: Tuesday, February 13, 2001 9:54 AM Subject: [Zope] How to force to expand a tree tag > Hi All, > > How to force to expand a tree tag when you render it ? > expand_all="1" as attribut seems to not work. > > Error: > ==== > Invalid attribute name, "expand_all", for tag <dtml-tree branches="publicObjects" skip_unauthorized="1" expand_all="1" sort=id>, > on line 11 of menu.html > > FR > > _______________________________________________ > Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org > http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope > ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** > (Related lists - > http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce > http://lists.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )
