I try to figure out how to use some tree attributes. So I would appreciate if someone could give pointers to examples or docs that would be useful to understand the following tree tag attributes. name leaves header footer I've read the ZDTML User's guide but I don't really understand. inconsistency in tag argument syntax

After playing around with making a tag an inconsistency in the tag syntax became apparent to me. Sometimes "asd" is treated as an expression and sometimes as a string. e.g. <dtml-let blah="aObject.method()"> is an expression however <dtml-mime name="aObject.method()"> makes the name argument a string with 'aObject.method()' This is confusing and inconsistent. Also treating any argument always as a string means that the value of the argument can never be dynamically specified i.e. there is no way I could name a mime block dynamically e.g. from a form. The same applies for instance to the 'sort' argument in <dtml-in>. This is very limiting. The problem is however that I can't see a backwards compatible way of fixing this problem. Alternatives are a) You could introduce a evaluate expression syntax like there is in sh script. i.e. name="`myMethod()`". This however makes things more confusing and unreadable. b) Another possibility is to make all "non-expression" arguments become expression arguments. This would break existing code and mean all string constants look like name="'A name'" which is also not intuitive and messy. This could be made cleaner by allowing syntax such as name='A name'. c) Or ignore the problem. I prefer option b). What do other people think?

Image Problem bug or am I just not getting it??

Hi everyone. First I like to thank all the wonderful people here who has helped me with all my problems in the past. Secondly I like to ask another question :) I have a page that has an image in it. I deleted the image and then created a new image with the same name. When I view the page the old image is still in the page. I compacted the db and flushed the cache but to no avail. I had the same problem when instead of deleting the image I just upload a new image to the image object and it also renders the old picture. I just saw a press release saying that hiretechs.com deployed a site using zope and linux. It looks like a nice site. [ZClass] manage_beforeDelete

Hello, I have a ZClass which saves some data to disk. Now, when I delete an instance of this ZClass I want also unlink the data on disk. I thought this could be done by overriding the manage_beforeDelete method, but this is impossible as my own manage_beforeDelete gets overridden by SimpleItem.manage_beforeDelete which is added as last item in the inheritance path... Any ideas ??
