temporary_folder after upgrade from 2.6.4 to 2.7.0

Hi! Some time ago I upgraded Zope from 2.6.4 to 2.7.0. I now noticed, that the temporary folder is not mounted with ZODB Mount Points. The error message is: "/temp_folder temporary ** Something is in the way **". On a clean installation it just says OK. I guess the temporary folder is a leftover from the 2.6.4 installation. The problem is, I can't delete it and mount it correctly. Florian

Hello. Does anybody know how to get new ZODB connection in background thread? Effect I would like to get: user clicks on "OK" button and system immediately answers him "File in process" (user will not wait until it finish). After process gets done, it stores result to itself somewhere. Here is an example how I run thread: def run(self, id, djs = []): if not self.__is_locked: thread = threading.Thread(target = self._run, args = (id, djs,)) thread.setDaemon(1) thread.start() thread.join() And self._run() is the method of the same class. The problem is that it does not deal with Persistence and I got error on Connection.py when it does setstate(): RuntimeError: Shouldn't load state for '\x00\x00\x00\x00\x00\x04\xf9\xf2' when the connection is closed It raises when I do: return xml.dom.minidom.parseString(xmldoc) What it means -- I know, but I am stuck to solve this... Probably too hot. :) The questions are: 1. When setstate() is called exactly? 2. What exactly I need to do to avoid this problem? And how (some example or related code would be perfect). 3. How to pass current db connection of ZODB to the child thread? Actually I mean, what object should receive it and for what? 4. Does somebody knows good URL to RTFM (to ask less)? 5. Does somebody already have good code example? (it would be top-perfect and short answer for all these my problems). Thank anybody for advance! -- 暮 I've been in the sun for a week. "Product" under Zope 2.7.0

I am attempting to convert some stuff running correctly on Zope 2.6 to 2.7 under Win2000. I have a "product" that I created by following the instructions for creating products in the "PythonScripts" product to allow access to the Python DSV module from http://python-dsv.sourceforge.net/. This seems to function correctly under 2.6 but under 2.7 the DSV.py module apparently fails to convert to byte code ( my understanding is this is done on Zope startup when required) thereby making the "product" non functional. I am not exactly sure why this fails though. Any idea how I can approach this problem? How can I get more information on this apparent failure?

Hi list, I was wondering if someone could possibly list me some of the benefits of using Zope, such as ease of use, stability, variety, etc. Also does anyone know how it compares to other CMS's, such as Typo3. Thank you, Dave

Error with installing zope 2.7.1 on Fedora Core 2

Hello, Im running Zope 2.7.0 on Fedora Core 2 (Upgraded from Core 1 to Core 2 after installing Zope 2.7.0. ZMySQLDA install error

Hello everyone, I have installed ZMysqlDA 2.8.0 and Mysql-python 0.9.2 on Zope 2.6.4 On installing I get Warning: install: modules installed to '/usr/local/Zope2.6/python2.1/site-packages/' which is not the Python's module search path (sys.path) -- you'll have to change the search path yourself. When I start the Zope server it gives me Import Error: /usr/local/Zope2.6/python2.1/site-packages/_mysql.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory -- I checked the file is present in this directory. -- Also If I run zope's python and do import sys -- sys.path it shows me this path. Hi, I want to catch Exception Bad Request, I have Python Script with parametr id_con: id_con='con_'+log str_con = log+'/'+dbpassw+ '@ora9cip' try: container.manage_addZOracleConnection(id_con,'',str_con,check=1, REQUEST=None) except: return "ERROR" else: return id_con in Handling Exception I want to catch Exception Bad Request, I get this message always when I try to add new connection, that already exist, this code above catch all Exception unfortunatelly, I ask for help, thanks&regards, Adam

Zope 2.7.0 and custom_zodb.py

I'm running 2.7.0 on Linux (Mandrake) with Python 2.3.4. I wanted to bump up the database connection pool limit so put the following custom_zodb.py in the instance home: import os import ZODB.FileStorage import ZODB.DB filename = os.path.join(INSTANCE_HOME, 'var', 'Data.fs') Storage = ZODB.FileStorage.FileStorage(filename) DB = ZODB.DB(Storage, pool_size=20, cache_size=2000) Zope starts fine w/ this (inasmuch as it creates a custom_zodb.pyc file) but the problem is that when I try to manage the database from the ZMI, it throws an exception complaining about not being able to lock the database. I've read elsewhere the using custom_zodb.py is deprecated by the new zope.conf file in Zope 2.7, but is there a way to specify the database connection pool size in zope.conf? TIA, John
